  1. I really am going to miss that big f***er! He and Robin were the 2 that made me a Sox fan -- this blows
  2. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) I think we've seen the last of Frank Thomas in a Sox uniform, or any uniform for that matter. Hope he's salted away some money. He never earned Sammy Sosa big bucks, and he's a much better hitter, competitor, and human being. I'll take Frank in his prime over a juiced up Sosa any day. I'll take the injury prone Frank of the last few years too. I'm glad Frank played for my team and Sosa played for the cute adorable ones. I just don't think he'll be back. You could see he was really laboring this year, and was still able to put up formidable power numbers. He better be a first ballot HOFer. Awsome post!
  3. Brian -- just thought that I would tell you that I LOVE your avatar. I think that we tend to forget that the team that started this season didn't have the Hurt -- we have been the best team in baseball basically all year without him
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Rowand, BMac, Sweeny for Manny? Starting point anyway? No thank you
  5. No way in hell we are standing pat now
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Ha...Uribe's only been here this year and last. I was referring to Valentin -- hence -- "The Pornstar" Am I the only one that thinks he looks like a pornstar??
  7. I was a Yanks game a few years ago where he won it for is with a broken bat bloop single in the bottom of the 9th -- one of the best games I have ever been to -- for a number of different reasons. There was about a 2hr rain delay -- but luckily enough -- we were in a box and were able to keep right on boozin through the delay. After "The Pornstar's" game winning hit we started this really obnoxious drunkin "f*** New York" chant outside the cell and about 100 people or so joined in -- ahhh great times!
  8. Valentin was Mr. Clutch -- but he did REALLY blow.
  9. Who ever deemed SS as a power position? Frankly, I think Uribe blows ass -- he is basically an automatic out at the plate -- but he has singlehandidly won us a ton of ballgames this year -- with both his glove and his bat. Doesn't he lead the team in Sac flies?
  10. "So when teammate Chris Widger told Crede he had been traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, it sounded plausible. It wasn't until Widger said that the Sox were getting Jim Thome, Billy Wagner and another starter from the Phillies, for Crede alone, did the Sox third baseman know he had been had. " Who knew the Widgenator was such a riot?!?
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) You are the s***tiest thread starter on the site. No offense -- but this is just juvenile. Frankly, I think this is a great thread (as long as it doesnt go the way of personal attacks) Hibbard stated his opinion and then actually backed it up with cold, hard stats -- much more than can be said of the "Cruddy Sucks/Kong Sucks" threads.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) You know why hes considering not going right? That night while most everyone is at the game he's gonna try to get 2,000 additional posts in to pad his posting stats...it's pretty obvious The one man game thread!
  13. Thanks Steff. Faxing mine over now.
  14. I am a bit confused by this -- pardon my stupidity. In the other thread there was mention of free food/drinks -- I see nothing of the sort on the official form. Another issue that I have -- but nowhere near as pressing -- is the last sentence of the 1st paragraph. "Additionally, if you book a goup of 20 or more tickets, plan on the following perks:" Now -- are we going to be eligible for those perks because we are all going as a "group" from Soxtalk?
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) So were his biceps, triceps, abs, glutes, obliques, quads..... Everything except his balls..............
  16. "Food and DRINK, including beer is unlimited." That did it -- no way I am missing this
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) GOOOCH DING DONG DILLY
  18. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) It just looks like he swinging for the fences 3/4 times he's up every night And I'm sure he will until he hits his 500th. Frankly, I think thats the only reason he is still around -- gives him a better shot at the hall. I dont think he will be around long after he hits #500 -- no matter when it is or who it is for (unfortunately)
  19. Frank hit the ball hard as hell last night -- just came up a few feet short and left a few times.
  20. "There is one guy responsible, but it's called 'Team.' That one guy is the whole team," he said. "We've kind of put an unbelievable warrior together, and everyone has contributed a part to that. That's what I consider us now, one unbelievable warrior on the field. That's the way we go at it, working together. Yeah, to answer the question, there is one person, and it's spelled 'T-E-A-M.' " This is why our TEAM is so great
  21. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) I wish I could kick the dog but the wife would have my sack in a vice. Thats why you kick the wife
