QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) Is there a legitimate reason that Flowers deserves more playing time than him at this point? Soto has a better AVG, OBP, SLG%, BB%, wRC+, and his defensive metrics have been better all season. What has Flowers done to deserve the nod over Soto? If Sale likes throwing to him so much, then fine, keep him around in some David Ross capacity. For a team so offensively starved though, it would seem to make a lot of sense having him in the lineup regularly between catcher and DH. Combine the homers of Flowers and Soto and it shows the platoon is decent. Obviously we would like more but just handing a player the starting job based on a homerun every few games is a recipe for failure

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) Maybe I'm in the dark but haven't seen anything about him being hurt. I just want him to start hitting the ball hard again. If it takes a DL stint, so be it. He is hurt and couple that with the Sox inability to produce and a player like Jose puts pressure on himself to do more than he can do. He is swinging at pitches out of the zone a lot. But, that hand injury has kind of made him a singles hitter right now
  3. QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) Did you guys catch that? I'm reading that as he didn't agree with leaving Sale in that long. Sale being on the mound in the 6th inning and having given up just 2 runs at that point most likely wasn't the reason Cooper was mad.
  4. Another flock of Birds coming to town. Let's win
  5. I have said that about Alexei all along. It applies to some others on the team too that we see being called out as trade now. I still think we have talented players and we should not dismantle over a bad year. A few changes are needed for sure but not a total dismantling.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 08:35 PM) I still don't believe Duffy had anything close to "shutout" stuff today. You really have to just say that one team showed up today and one didn't.
  7. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) I think we should DFA Flowers after the game. I believe he didn't even know the count when the ump rang him up. That's our season in a nutshell
  8. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 08:35 PM) Sell her too Probably bring more in return than anyone else we have
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) Yeah they should have been already selling. You can't win if you can't score. Abreu is slumping and has shown little power lately. I heard it was hand issues and maybe his feet too? Laroche is a thirty plus homer guy with nine right now. Too many slumping hitters
  10. It ain't ovah till it's ovah. But, a fat lady sighting has been reported.
  11. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 06:23 PM) Are they trying to hit s*** that soft though? Probably not
  12. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) We seem to never have a plan except for the beginning of last season. Guys just don't execute for us. experts on the major basebal channels have remarked about the lack of a solid approach by our hitters and their failure to make adjustments. I hope our offense can respond like yesterday even though we blew some opportunities there too
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Couple extremely soft hits puts Sale in early trouble. This is just what we don't want to see happen. One bad pitch after a couple frustrating soft hits and we are down early again in the first inning. Hope Chris is sharp enough after a week off to get out of this jam
  14. A split of the series with KC would be acceptable
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 12:18 AM) No one left in the pen, assuming Robertson can't go We have starters that are fresh like Rodon. If he needed another past Robertson he could have used him. Jennings just got caught at the wrong time nu ythe wrong hitter
  16. Q has to shut them down now and our only hope is Guthrie to give up his 5 runs a game average
  17. I would not call for the trading of Q . Nothing drastic mind you but fire Cooper LOL
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) Grand total of three pitches to trail this game. There is no way you can convince me that these starters are prepared for the game. We give up too many runs in the 1st inning. You can only hope the Royals don't score three or more as we are probably done with our offense
  19. Game underway. First pitch is a hit allowed
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) The Saladino Train keeps rolling. Some stuff will go down before the Sox and Cardinals play again. https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/622425938266038272 I am guessing Gillaspie and maybe Bonifacio and a picther or two may be on the block
