  1. It's all bird feed BUT, It's on WGN
  2. I thought it was too cold in Canada to play baseball HEH
  3. Let's clip some Blue Jay(s) wings
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 11:38 PM) When they implemented the rule, I called it stupid and I still do. Instant Replay and this rule change are both awful. I am going to agree with you on both points here. Granted instant replay was welcomed by some and then supported by all those who come out on the winning side of the replay and not so much by those who lose a replay call. I was not a supporter of replay. I think that is an umpire's call period and that's why we have umps and replay takes away the human element of the game, which makes baseball such a unique and wonderful game. The rule on blocking the plate was not well thought out and has not been applied properly in my opinion. Physical contact at home plate between the runner and the catcher has been with the game since probably day one. It is part of the sport.
  5. Belisario should be cut. We have some others in relief roles that shouldn't be up with the big club, but it's too late now and we are stuck with what we got for the rest of the year. Just going to have to accept it for what t is in 2014 and hope next year is better
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) Garcia is on the 60 day dl. Someone will need to be removed from the 40 man as well. Makes for some interesting speculation. Maybe someone develops an injury until 1 September?
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 06:12 PM) Friendly reminder. Lindstrom, while better then a lot of the guys in our pen, is still not a very good reliever. I couldn't agree more. But, wait for the first blown save or a loss and see the fur fly on Soxtalk LOL
  8. Chisox visit SF and kick Giants off Fisherman's Wharf
  9. I can't see the criticism of some of these players. Gillaspie is like #7 overall in the league in average. I think he is a pretty good #2 hitter as he makes contact and can move runners along. Injuries have done quite a bit to mess up the perfect line up this year
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) Except the White Sox were within 3 games of first when the white flag happened, so it doesn't apply at all. This team hit a wall, the players aren't producing and it's time to see what their potential replacements can do against Major League competition How so? We are not that far out right now from a Wild Card spot. The point is if we aren't in first place or win every game you hear the same old tired comments and the cry to tear up the team. You are building right now and have to be realistic
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 05:32 PM) I wouldn't call it a loss of power, pitchers are just approaching him differently. He just barely missed one last night; it looked gone off the bat. Wind was blowing in and knocked it down just enough. The Mariner's lost a homer that way too
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) Can we at least be a little patient with the guy who has played like 3 games in 4 months and is rehabbing a major shoulder reconstruction? The idea of just going with all AAA players is worse then a white flag trade IMO. Use that strategy and reasoning every year and we would be in last place forever
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) http://www.thebaseballcube.com/teams/stats...987&T=10239 Thanks for posting that roster from 1987. There are a lot of names on that I remember
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 04:46 PM) Sox used to have their AAA team in Vancouver. That's pretty close to parts unkown. Many years ago I believe they were even in Honolulu. Now I would go there for a game!
  15. Zach pitched one inning at AAA in rehab and is now headed back up. Rienzo has been bombed quite a bit lately and is going to Charlotte. Next move should be Lindstrom
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) I said last chance at wildcard. There are 7 weeks left. Sox are just about dead. Over the years I have had to remind young pups like yourself that "IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER". Never give up!
  17. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 01:13 PM) The worst thing about Robin, IMO, is that he doesn't signal for the homerun nearly often enough. We all complain about the bullpen a lot, but how many games has the bullpen blown that couldn't have been salvaged if Robin just had his guys hit a few homeruns the next inning? It makes. No. SENSE! It's like he's not paying attention to the score. I have never thought of it this way. Last night as I was watching the Sox and Mariners I realized Ventura is making signals but our pitchers think RV means THEY are supposed to give up the homers. The proof is in the fact they gave up 4 homers to a team that is a notoriously weak hitting one. It is so simple. It's all a miscommunication issue
  18. Tuesday night game at about 9:15 or so from San Francisco on WGN followed by a Wednesday day game over WGN also from Giants land. That one starts about 2 PM MDT
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) I think you seriously need to stop talking about the Cubs. Its becoming like you and Puig. Yes please! I don't think the Cubs have recently won a World Series
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 12:52 AM) Leury is fast! Lead him off! Forget the fact he can't get on base! Can he bunt? Like 4 or 5 times?
