Had the game on Sunday down here, but on Saturday, they gave us the Mets and Rangers for some reason.
We didn't get the Sox game on Saturday either. Saw Sunday and Humber did a great job and our hitters didn't

They should DL Dunn with a phantom injury and let him get his head together in AAA, thus allowing Viciedo to come up for the time being.
That is Phil Roger's stance. I think they could use his surgery as the reason, but good lord somethings got to happen
No doubt about that Dunn s been nothing short of abysmal this season-so far. I wonder what happens when we head to Denver? My feeling is he should sit and get his head on straight, but I bet he plays at 1B and maybe in the OF. I am just keeping hope alive that he can turn things around after the All-Star break. It is hard to believe he k's more than Dave Nicholson did.
Someone to drive in runs is needed. In house that is Viciedo. He could play between Juan in LF or move ove to right and also DH. But, someone has to be dealt or injured. Don't wish either on any of our guys, but Viciedo might breath some life into this offense. We have some real dark holes in that line up right now
Jake Peavy, Gavin Floyd and Mark Buerhle, et al just showed us what TEAM means. For those guys and at the top Jake to step up was a great thing. Maybe this will start us on the march to the top of the AL Central
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 11:06 PM)
Well, that was easy. Peavy is player of the game but close second is Bruney. Good job for him to hold them to nothing after struggling last night.
Bruney and Santos for us and the Nats guys who all picthed yesterday. Kind of amazing how things can change one day to the next

It wasn't a terrible idea, but when you get told to suicide squeeze, your got to get the bat on the ball even if it's a pitchout. Throw the bat if you have to.
That is for sure
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 09:23 PM)
Well, I didn't figure it would go down like this.
You beat me to the post. I wonder what this does to the rotation for a bit unless we have an off day soon and it gets back into the 5 person rotation
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 10:22 PM)
That's because pitchers aren't afraid of him hitting a solid fastball, so they go right after him.
The problem really is/was mechanical for both of them. And both of them had stretches where they got their mechanics right but then lost them.
I think it goes to show you how even a small thing can throw the hiter out of whack.
I think there were enough swear words last night when our pen gave up 11 hits and three walks in 7 innings and our SS made a bad throw with 2 outs. Anyway it's a new day and a new game and we can win it for sure.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:53 AM)
Oh, so now he comes to get him.
You know whats sad? Sale will get the loss.
I think that move was several hitters too late
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:45 AM)
Pretty sure Quentin was available to PH there, but it would be hard to take out Dunn after he almost hit a homer in his last at-bat.
At least he's SORT of looking a bit more dangerous now. UGHHHH.
I thought he was gone for this game?
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:45 AM)
At least Dunn made contact in his last two ABs.
yep and that last one was an 8 pitch and he hit the ball for the out. Maybe just maybe ????

Bad things happen on Fridays. Hudson, this game, and then there were three blown games to OAK, TB and the Dodgers.
What a nightmare.
And it's not even the 13th
