Trade way a 30 homer 100 RBI man who just got named to the All-Star team. Makes a lot of sense.

The problem is our inconsistent offense. At some point you would hope that they can put it together. we have the horses. But, you can only beat a dead "bat" to death for so long. Our offense today is a wild pitch to Jake Peavy in a park that is made for homers just like US Cell and we can't hit any -

Let us gather together in the church of our choosing and worship in our own way for a Sox victory -
the White Sox are never a second half team...

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:46 AM) but then again.... 1993 White Sox first 81 games 42-39 last 81 games 52-29 Just sayin'. I had forgotten how mediocre their start was and how hot they got in the second half. Just sayin' Plus 1983 was good. It can be done. Precictions are so hard to predict -
I never turned against PK and I didn't like the Edwin Jackson trade, but I did like the signing of Dunn. All I know is the moves are what they area and hopefully these guys perform that way we hoped they would

Took this off the "Morning Phil" where Phil Rogers lambasts KW for the Hudson-Jackson trade. It can still get worse for the Sox 3. There are some people so loyal to the White Sox that they still insist that Daniel Hudson would have been a No. 5 starter, at best, had the Sox not traded him to Arizona. This is patently insane, as that opinion seems mostly based on his being effective in one of three starts while stepping in for Peavy last season, and overlooks a more valid sample – that being his 2.78 ERA in 27 starts for the Diamondbacks, including recent inter-league wins over the Royals and White Sox. The Jackson trade was a bad idea, and saying it was made only so the Sox could spin Jackson to Washington for Dunn (which didn’t happen) would seem to make it look even worse for Williams. But, hey, it could still go downhill from here. You might have forgotten, but the trade was actually Hudson and lefty David Holmberg for Jackson. Holmberg, who doesn’t turn 20 for a month, is one of the best pitchers in the Midwest League, going 7-3 with a 2.61 ERA for Arizona’s South Bend affiliate. He’s essentially striking out one per inning, and has a 5-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He also lambasts KW over Rios and maybe for good reason. I just don't know anymore

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) KW's goal is to have an outfield of Viciedo, Rios and Quentin next year. Another one of his goals is to have Rios leadoff next season. I think that makes sense. But, Rios had better start hustling
-
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) I am starting to believe that the only way that Viciedo gets up is if KW can move CQ. If JP is taken out of the lineup Ozzie is going to play De Aza or Lilli in LF to get his speedy leadoff guy at the top of the line-up. Dunn is not getting benched in favor of anyone. Viciedo could swap places with Morel but it sounds like the organization is committed to him being an OF. I think KW has a couple of deals up his sleeve, I think he will move one of the SP's (Danks) rather than relegating one to the bullpen and will move Quentin to open a spot for Viciedo and in making one of those moves will include Pierre and bring back another LF candidate. They are not trading CQ. Why trade a guy with that upside. Anyone goes its Pierre or Rios
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 03:23 AM) It would have been lack of hustle if it's a legit benching. I believe Ozzie was quoted as saying this isn't the first time Rios has not hustled? I think sometime these guys need a wake up call

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) LOL. That reminds me that my 1st post ever on this site was during that series. Of course I was being an over-the-top douche, stating that Pablo Ozuna should just walk off the field and retire for making so many mistakes in one of those games. EDIT: Here it is... link EDIT part deux: And it was a reply to milkman. LOL I think my biggest baseball thril was seeing Joe Crede hit a two run 2 out homer in the top of the 9th in game three and that brought up the Big Hurt to PH. He hit a homer to dead center. The crack of the ball off the bat was heard throughout the stadium. Prior to Frank coming up even all the Rox fans were cheering to see him. -
All-Star Voting -- How Ridiculous is this System?

QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) Time for them to revisit how the voting works. Tired of seeing 5 Yankee starters including stiffs like Martin and has-beens like Jeter every year. I agree. As long as you are a Yankee or a Red Sox player you are in like flint -

I would like to see a sweep like we did there in 2005. And I saw that series -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 02:53 AM) Yeah he really is the only option. Dunn could go to the DL I suppose for a couple weeks with some phantom injury. But Teahen is here to stay. Omar is. Bacon to AAA? It really boils down to JP has to be released for Dayan to get the call. use pain from his surgery as the reason and that can't be that far fetched

Adam Dunn: The Least Exciting Player Ever
