White Sox vs. Twins, 1:10 CT, CSN
Double and another run. This could get out of control quickly

White Sox vs. Twins, 1:10 CT, CSN
Peavy with two walk in the 4th and I was going to say he was playing with fire and he then gives up a two strike 2 out single and Twins lead 1-0

That is gutsy and gritty pitching and ends with Mauer GIDP

I am afraid it's Jake that is going to cave first. Back to back singles by Twins and no out

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) Swarzak has nothing out there. I'll be disappointed if we don't hit at least 2 homers against him. Hope they realize soon he doesn't have anything. That called third strike to CQ looked like a gift to Swarzak by the ump

Ball two to Toyotatireski (sp?) looked like an outside strike to me

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) He's been bad since that game where he pitched 4 innings of relief. Interesting point since he was so good then

Juan Pierre leads off with a single on an 0-2 pitch

White Sox vs. Twins, 1:10 CT, CSN
A bit of concern in the 1st inning for Peavy as he gave up two singles, but gets out of it with a line out to third. Sems to have a hard time getting loose before the game I am thinking

Castro hit on hand, leaves game with broken hand
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) Worth a shot. He'll never play, of course. That is my assumption. Once a week maybe and back down after Castro is healed. It is just a tease

White Sox vs. Twins, 1:10 CT, CSN
Let us hope for a win. Jake Peavy to star and Dunn to homer and the offense to break out. All that would be a great way to end the first half and get us going for after the All-star game

WHITE SOX WINNER
I saw it on TV! Amazing the amount of negativity we have after a win. I hate it!

Was that the right call?
You play with who you have and I am thinking the manager and coaches know how a player will likely perform. However, I would have thought Beckham would be bunting AJ over to third, but speed helps and AJ is not the fastest guy. It worked out though in the end. Like AJ said on scoring on Alexei's hit - he had every ounce of speed going. Now getting to Dunn at least he hit the ball all four times for outs and didn't K

Backup Catcher
I guess we will find out if Tyler Flowers can hit major league hitting and fiield his position. Interesting to see if he plays more than once a week though. Could be he is just here until Castro is healthy. Ramon did a good job as the reserve catcher. He knew his role and was prepared.

Bizarre game again.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:29 AM) If Gavin stayed in all game, I'm not sure 15 runs would have been enough. He just had nothing out there tonight, and his outing would have been worse if not for a great play by Morel. Gavin just hasn't been sharp for several starts now

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:29 AM) Hughes is a righty.... Ozzie left Gavin in to face the lefty and brought in Ohman to face the righty. Go figure. Exactly- that's as bad as first take on it

Twins @ Sox, 7/8/11, 7:10, WCIU
Just noted the Sox had 5 runs in the 1st and that's been it. Usually with our starters 5 would be a win for sure

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:20 AM) Outside of one pitch by Ohman, its been a good outing by the bullpen once again. Just got in from out of town and went to dinner. The sports bar had MLB Extra on and the Sox game showing just in time for me to see that homer Ohman gave up to a lefty. I think the secret was lefty to get lefty out? Then of course two on twice and Dunn K's followed the next inning by k's by Beckham and Morel

Maybe lady luck is with us? Then again maybe not, but you have to play 162 games
