  1. We can still win with the team we have now
  2. Best thing IMO right now for the Sox is Pena didn't come back regardless
  3. Mental lapses in the field have hurt us as much, but not as much, as the inconsistent offense and poor running game. The offense needs to be shaken up. But, I do get a bit exasperated at relief pitchers brought in the get the first hitter out in a tight situation and they fail. That's what they are supposed to do- get the first guy out not the second guy first. No good if a run scores and then they settle down. I guess there is plenty of blame to go around for us not being in 1st place. Amazing we are only 4 1/2 back
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Again, Sending Adam Dunn and Alex Rios to the minor leagues would require the Sox to immediately spend about $95 million. I understand and that's another reason I should have mentioned why it won't happen. Best you can do I guess is hope hope and hope they break out of this slump
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Greg, Peavy vs Duffy is not a huge Sox advantage on paper. Peavy's ERA as a starter this year is 5.68 I know we won last night and all but going up against Davies who was a 1-8 pitcher and he got 8 or 9 k's against our line up doesn't do much for my confidence in our hitters. Or maybe it's just Dunn and Rios again?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) So wait, today's lineup is going to include Juan Pierre Brent Morel Adam Dunn Tyler Flowers Alex Rios That's not exactly what I'd call scary. It's downright spooky is what it is. I can't rememebr when we have had two such large black holes in our line up as we do with Rios and Dunn. But, to think the Sox would send down Dunn and or Rios is absolutely an absurd idea. It just isn't going to happen an I am sure it's never been discussed by the Sox high command as an option.
  7. I am going with FLOWERS and hope his first game this season witb the Sox is a success. Originally I had CQ, but it's Tyler tonight.
  8. Why wouldn't we want Buerhle back? He is a premier lefty and a great team player. I know he has said he wouldn't mind coming back so I hope we look at 2 or 3 plus years. Maybe 2 with mutual options?
  9. I think KC is the seler and may have a bat or two to give up. Amazing how a teams fortunes can change. Pittsburgh a buyer? They have really turned their franchise around with that young talent
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 02:49 AM) How do you get thrown out SO BADLY on a hanging curveball??? Yikes. Maybe I spoke too soon?!
  11. Have we stopped hateing Pierre yet? He has been coming through more consistently now. Maybe he can treach Dunn and Rios how it's done?
  12. QUOTE (typewritermender @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) if we've given up on Morel why can't Viciedo take his place? I know we've been playing him in OF and his 3b defense isn't great, but it hasn't been long since he was in the hot corner....doesn't it make sense to try him there if we don't have anybody and Ozzie refuses to take pierre out of the lineup? (plus pierre hasn't been that awful of late) There are so many ways to fit Viciedo in...it's really just mind-boggling. I don't think the Sox have given up on Morel. He is a quality glove man. Problem is we have Teahan there too plus Vizquel can play 3B as well when needed. Might make sense to send down Morel thiough if push comes to shove with Viciedo, but I don't see that happening.
  13. DirectTV says its signal is 99.0% reliable. Have you found that not to be true? I am thinking of changing over from local cable to DirectTV. I can get the MLB extra Innigs package on my cable but I think DirectTV has more optionsn
  14. Playing a pretty good defensive thirdbase. However, with little playing oportunity at one position I always thought he might be trade bait
  15. Dunn is such a tease. Friday he gets a walk and a two RB single adn we are all thinking he is breaking out of it. They write stories about his heroics and how the 4 day break was good for him, etc, and so on. Saturday he k's three times and is 0-4. 1 for 8 in two games doesn't show much. Rios is just flat terrible too
  16. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 12:11 AM) If White Sox management feel they are in this and are real contenders after the next two weeks - chances are Edwin won't get moved. I tend to agree with your assessment. There are some uknowns right now with the Sox starters and E Jax can eat up innigs and throw lots of pitches. So much talent and it's puzzling why this guy isn't a consistent winner
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) I understand that, but tomorrow's game should be available as well as the games Mon, Tue and Wed. I can see Sunday's for sure as it's on WGN-A and I get that. Monday on I hope to see that free preview.
  18. ocal station doesn't changel QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) You lucky Montanaganders! Us Coloradoites are stuck with BOS-TB. Hang in there as sometimes that changes. I always thought oiur feed was out of Salt Lake or Denver. Hiopefully though my local station doesn't change
  19. Today the game is on FOX. Looks like I get the coverage here. Maybe regional though. Sunday it's on WGN. E Jackson throws today for the Sox and Phil Humber tomorrow. Let's sweep
