I didn't know that, but I think you may be right.

Thanks for the update on that. Your right the umps never call that play. Just against us.

Todays game
Olivo strikes out on 3 pitches. He looks at 2 in the zone and then chases one low and out of the zone.
-
Todays game
Looks like Konerko and Rios continue to suck at the bat with both at 0 for 2. Crede just got a single

Todays game
Bonds hit it with a man on in the 4th but the Sox came back with 2 in the bottom of the 4th. 2-2 tie

Todays game
It's hard to believe that Garland left that lead off batter on base and got out of it. Other than his mistake to Bonds he looks like he's competing tonight.

Todays game
I see Garland grooved one to Snow on a 3-1 count so he got a double. They never learn do they.

What happened?I have to watch the dots on MLB game day so I am not getting the play by play or seeing it happen. I see Rios GIDP.

Todays game
My fear when the Sox go up against these unknown pitchers is that we always suck. We sucked till the 4th and now Valentin doubles and Daubach singles him in. We get some timely hitting.

Make It Or Break It Time
It's time to go on a roll.

Favorite Sox player
I like Loaiza, Valentin and the Big Hurt the mostest. Buerhle and Colon and Lee and Crede after that.

Jeffrey Hammonds released by Brewers.
I viewed the stats. He showed some power and hit for a high average in Colorado, but doesn't show any consistency. Maybe a 4th outfielder? But we already have a couple guys doing that for us.

Jeffrey Hammonds released by Brewers.
Don't know enough about Hammonds to make a decision, but I am going to check his stats. Reading some of the posts though on trade pleas makes me wonder why we value our own people so poorly. It's lke give up the entire team to get some reject from another team. I guess frustration makes you think that way, but let's reign it in some...

it is official
I had hoped to hear of a good trade, but we will see if Rowand can produce. I am willing to wait and see.

Ken Rosenthal
Thanks for posting this information. It certainly does have a lot of good trade talk. I am surprised the SoX aren't listed for more than picking up Hammonds.

good article on frank
I agree that Frank is the MAN! I see Frank's problems last year and earlier this year to be related to his injury. It takes awhile for the strength to return after any injury and I also believe Frank got into some bad habits. However, he knows it, did something about it and is BACK.

Tue June 10 PTC
The SF pitcher is a righty so I am going with Jose Valentin on 6-10. It's time for him to break out of it.

Who is running this team???
The Sox are still in it according to KW and JM. I want to believe that too. The series versus SF and then SD are huge no doubt and if we can play well I think that bodes well for the rest of the season. As much as we all might think changes need to be made I don't see it happening. I think KW will stick with JM and that's that. He keeps saying he isn't going to panic. I would like to see a trade though. If Rowand doesn't do it I think we need a CF'er and I'd like to see Drew.

Whats your feeling?
Well, maybe? I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think we are in a position now to start moving ahead though. The ten runs Sunday were scored off less than the best pitchers the Dodgers have, but on the other hand we finally hit someone hard, where in the past games this year even the other teams worse got us out. The Ginats don't have the dominating staff and as long as our pitchers continue to perform like they have I think we can win.

Justification for Royce Ring
Not to sound like a naysayer, but Ring hasn't been as dominant as his numbers indicate. Don't get me wrong, he has been very, very good, but there have been a handful of instances where he has given up other pitcher's runs. Please let me reiterate that I am not bashing him, because he has been great. But his numbers look so unbelievable that one would think he has hardly been touched. He has been more human than his numbers show, but he still has been excellent. As a Birmingham fan, I'd love to see him stay here all year. Not sure that will happen though. The mark of a great releif pitcher is to get that first hitter out. Many relievers on the Sox have failed to do that this year. I think Ring has a great future though. Imagine him with Marte as the two lefties in the pen. Open some trade possibilties. Don't Count out Arnie Your right on that one. I should have remembered to include Arnie Munoz. Great prospect. So to correct my original post, "can you imagine three dominating lefties in the pen with Marte, Ring and Munoz? WOW!"

Aaron Rowand called up
I figured Rowand would be back up eventually especially if Borchard wasn't producing. JB has a future with the Sox, but he needs to lern to cut down on the strikeouts and be more of a line drive hitter. He has shown a lot of potential. I think Rowand is ready and he always gives it his all in the field. He is the best choice we have right now. Trading for Kenny Lofton is not the answer. My guess is Kenny will tail off again later in the season when it gets hot and he gets tired. If we trade for anybody let's go for JD Drew.
