  1. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) I'd kind of like to see Alexi hit 1st and Cabrera hit 2nd. Interesting...not a bad thought really.
  2. I've seen enough of AJ in the 2 hole.......
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Poreda is the best bet IMO in house I wouldn't mind seeing it. Sometimes rooks coming up surprise. With that said...I'm not real sure about Poreda mental makeup. Is he a gamer? weak?......????
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:20 PM) If its Broadway, God help us all. They might as well let fathom toe the rubber. So whaddaya think DA?.... Poreda? Broadway? Give Richard another chance? Waiver wire deal?
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:19 PM) Youkilis is in my top 5 of most annoying players, and I really have no reason. It must just be the bald head and thick goatee. For me it's because he seems to be the poster boy for 'Roid Rage.......
  6. So who's the 5th starter now?.....Broadway?
  7. What an absolutely pissed away opportunity. OC...not sure if he was pissed to have to bunt...but it sure seemed like it with the pathetic attempt he gave it. It's a friggin sac bunt...and he's trying to drop it down. Probably the worst attempt I've seen all year.
  8. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:07 PM) Ruptured achilles. He gone. I kind of figured that when I saw the play. That really sucks......
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) If he gets Varitek, sure, keep him in against Crisp. In the way that modern baseball is played, however, and considering what we're paying Dotel...if he can't hold that lead or get out of that inning, I'm not sure how that is on Ozzie Guillen. Thornton is a little like Thome...something happens to him when the game's really on the line, and I just don't trust him against Youkilis in that situation. I guess it worked out doing it Ozzie's way after all. So you're basing who we bring in on what they're being paid?...... All I'm saying is Mark was throwing a shutout....even at 110 pitches he could have been stretched for a few more. It wouldn't have killed him. Like you said though...it all worked out. HUGE WIN!!!!!!
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) Well, a 4-0 lead, you shouldn't assume that you should treat your starter like Leyland leaving his franchise ace Verlander out there for 130 pitches. Next, Ozzie will be second-guessed for not bringing Jenks in here, instead using Carrasco in a position he's not too familiar with. puh-lease.... You can stretch you guys a little bit...especially the way Mark threw tonight. 110 isn't that bad. Don't be so dramatic.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) So why did they pull Buehrle? Seriously....why? Guy's throwing a friggin shutout and gets yanked. Goddamn...can we get Ozzie suspended again.
  12. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) To be honest, no. Was it outside or inside? The pitch before was in. outside.
  13. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) And that's why it was a bad pitch. My guess is that the plan was to pitch him in, not away. did you see where the catcher was set up?
  14. I don't want to say the game was lost this inning but really it was...Wasserman absolutely sucks though. Nice substitution Oz. And not being able to jack Minor is ridiculous.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Nice effort by Brian. Ehren threw a slowey down the pipe. Wasn't a bad pitch at all IMO. Maggs went and got a low outside pitch. And if anybody noticed...our CF was playing WAY to the leftfield side on a low and outside pitch.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) How do you sit on a change when Rodney has been throwing 97-98 recently? He has a great change, but you you always have to look fastball first and then adjust...if you look for the change, then you're in real trouble. DARN!!! Thought that ball was going to get down the tie it up...Ramirez had the right approach. Just wish we hadn't left so many runners on earlier in the game when Griffey, Ramirez, Cabrera and Quentin had their opportunities to make it closer. What's easier to hit...an 85ish mph pitch you're looking for a 98 mph heater? He throws that pitch 40-50% of the time.
  17. The Cox F-up still cost a run....at least.
  18. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) If Cox had held him up, this board would have exploded with anger. Absolutely, after a weird bounce like that, it would have. Expecting Thome to score from 1st....are you serious? Anybody else maybe besides Thome or Konerko.....
