QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) So is it even possible that Konerko looks even more lost at the plate right now than he did 2-3 weeks ago? Appears so..... man he's pathetic right now. -

That Aflac question has me stumped: Name the last Sox pitcher to record 200 K's in consecutive seasons. My first thought was Floyd Bannister. -

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) More than likely, he will not be assigned and will be sent to the Arizona Fall League. Good...give me somethin' to do out here. I'm bored.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) I was hit by 90 mph fastballs in the backs of both elbows in the same game, and I'll be honest, my hands were in and out of numbness for a week and I was sore for about 3 or 4 weeks. I hear ya... my bruise got so friggin' big and spread so much...literally black from gettin hit on the elbow they sent me to the hospital for precautionary. 70 smarts. 80 hurts. 90 flat out sucks. And it doesn't go away after a few days.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Why was Vazzy so aggressive tonite? Is it the Royals or the new Vaz? I think it's like somebody said earlier...maybe he got a lesson last night watching Beckett moving his fastball around...instead of laying it right over the plate like he's been doing the last month. HE LOOKS GREAT don't he Milkman?!? -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) Anybody officially worried or bummed about the acquisition of Griffey? Like fathom said...worried he just plays too much. He really hasn't done crap besides his first game played. I'm not happy he's taking time away from BA...and like somebody said earlier....I WOULD rather see BA in there. His acquisition really wasn't necessary. Hell...I'd rather have Masset starting right now. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) Griffey on this team is dumb. Honestly, there's no point to him playing. Seriously...what's the friggin' point? Very frustrating...

QUOTE (Winning Ugly @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) I can't tell you how many D'Backs fans were pizzed when that trade was made with what they ended up agreeing on with Byrnes, and the rest of the D'Backs fans are pizzed now whenever Quentin is mentioned on the radio, tv, etc. They loved him here in Phoenix and preferred Byrnes be traded. Makes me smile every time I get into a conversation with DBack fans out here. I always like to add..."but, but...you've got Chris Young...". They got nobody to blame but themselves because they provided the peer pressure with all the b****ing about Gonzo, Johnson, Schilling, etc.... being moved and the thought of losing Byrnes who was having a good year just didn't sit well. Just because "he's popular"... tough s***zkies......

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 12:30 AM) I really like this move, Ramirez has been really good out of the pen this year and we didn't give up much. As for Fields, I know he looked awful, but I still think he deserved more of a shot than he got. He really didn't get much of a shot. I think he's still in the plans though...or at least part of a package. Boone just pissed away his chance this year which is really sad because he started the year so strong. He just seemed to turn into a mental midget moper when a few things went wrong. On a side note...I still haven't been thrilled with some of the pitch selections when he was throwing either.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 06:17 PM) I don't think we'll see Egbert. Due to his experience last season, PROBABLY Broadway...although he would definitely be on a very short leash. This is another area that the Masset trade kills us...he might have been our best back-up starter. I don't know what they'll do...it's a little late in the season to stretch out Mike MacDougal and make him a starter again, but they have to consider everything. Surprised nobody commented on caulfield's post here....because it's pretty spot on. Just what the hell has Griffey brought to this team besides the headache of where to bat him or sit him?!? Kenny rolled the dice to catch lightning in a bottle and lost. Masset probably would have looked pretty good right now. Still my vote goes to 1a. Poreda. 1b. Broadway (he did show some promise late last year). The thing that sticks in the back of my mind is when other teams bring up some no-name shmuck...and he friggin shuts out the Sox in their first MLB start. So it does happen. Kind of like my position about Caleb Hanie...GIVE THE DUDE A SHOT!
