  1. I guess, instead of making the baby, I'll just...."practice"
  2. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) You know who my first thought was... Addison Reed. I'm having trouble recalling who he's plunked, other than AJ... ...?
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 12:52 PM) The top 10: 10. CarGo 9. Goldschmidt 8. Stanton 7. Harvey 6. Posey 5. Longoria 4. McCutchen 3. Machado 2. Harper 1. Trout Hard to argue, though Posey's megadeal scares me off as a catcher (and megadeals are scary in general)
  4. I continue to read the title as "Soxtalk has new hair"
  5. I guess I need to get started on this....feeling left out
  6. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 08:42 PM) With morel being sent down after the game, leaves the Sox a little short in the infield. Gillaspie, ARam, Kepp, Phegley. That's it. Looks good to me
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) I think I said this earlier, but... would never have guessed during the offseason that Wilkins would be a guy being considered for a job in 2013 or 2014. Probably not Plan A, but, he's getting a look. That is something. He has been a guy, since he was drafted, where nobody would be totally surprised if he succeeds at a given level...but nobody would ever bet on it, either. He doesn't have super impressive tools so with every new challenge, he will have to prove that he is talented enough to be there. Lots of guys can fly through systems putting up worse numbers than Andy and still get a big league look, but those guys have better tools. Andy is making the most of his tools at this point, which means he will rightfully get a look in the bigs (it seems) but he won't be given the benefit of the doubt given to a top prospect. He's sort of like Phegley, where if he doesn't/didn't produce in AAA, nobody would think about him. Phegley produced and now he's here. If Andy continues to produce, he'll be in Chicago too. If he doesn't, we'll forget about him because his tools and draft status don't dictate that we should get disappointed if he fails.
  8. His splits at both levels now say he hits lefties better than righties. A nice little asset for a left-handed hitter - oh and he's 3 for 4 so far in Charlotte's game. Holy crap is he hot right now.
  9. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...ws&c_id=cws
  10. Wilkins two hits so far, 1 2B. Single off the wall in right field off of Kevin Gausman, double that one hopped wall in LF against a LHP. Kid is hot.
  11. Saw a Tigers fan on MotownSports say the only guy they should trade Castellanos for is Chris Sale. Good luck with that! Though I'm sure Castellanos for Reed would sound crazy to them, as it rightfully should. They're pretty divided on Avisail Garcia over there FWIW
  12. We need to let this thread die, the other GMs are reading this!!
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 04:05 PM) Maybe...I think a healthy Crain brings a B prospect or 2. Not as much as we'd like. I think Nate Jones is getting close to Reed, and may surpass him. Koji Uehara was traded for Chris Davis and Tommy Hanson
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) I guess he is, based on how teams value elite prospects...higher than above average major leaguers. We could throw in another player...hell throw in Crain, although they'd probably have to add something on their side. It would be nice to get an elite prospect somwhere, instead of all Bs. You'd have to add a LOT more to make "throwing in" Crain make sense. Lindstrom might be closer to somebody that could be called a throw in.
  15. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) That seems like all he does, in a good way. What are some scouting reports on his pitches? Monster fastball? The most optimistic thing I've read is "can reach mid-90s" though it was speculated he (like anyone else) might gain some velo in a relief role. He's now at 3.2 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 8 K
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) The reason Wells isn't an everyday starter is due to his stance. It just seems to give him too many pitches he can't get the barrel to. He's a guy, if we are to sell, I don't mind giving a lot of ABs to. I would prefer him over Jordan Danks because Casper has actually had some nice runs of hitting in the MLB QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) Wasn't that after he fell though? lol pshhh...details details
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) Now that Wells has done his one good thing this year lets get rid of him He caught that one ball while sitting on his fannie earlier this year
  18. Sox love to play up to the level of their competition
  19. Not demoting Nate Jones was a very good call by Sox coaching/management that was, at one point, not a decision every team would have made.
  20. Trayce Thompson 5 for his last 11. Andy Wilkins with 5 HR in his last 4 games. There's your White Sox farm update
  21. lol Gattis + Jones' slider = disaster
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) It's funny, at first the guy I really didn't like was Farmio. That really changed in the last couple of years when I listened more and more on Gameday audio. I don't really like Farmer but that broadcast is oftentimes hilarious...mostly because of how inept and awkward they are. I mean that in the best way
  23. Braves look very Sox-ish to me
