QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Did anyone watch Revolution? I have it dvrd and am going to give it a shot when I get home. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) Revolution is looking more and more like Jericho part II every day. I heard something about one of the episodes being named after and/or filmed in my hometown in Central IL? Anyone catch this? QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) Brickleberry was pretty decent. Looks like a one season show to me.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) Plus you can't fill a hole by creating a canyon. I don't trust this organization trading affordable everyday players (exception Adam Dunn) for prospects. You still need people at the ballpark. Only Bill Wirtz was excellent at alienating a fan base. Let's no go there. Yep. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) I don't understand why so many are against tearing this up. A middle-of-the-pack team is nothing that inspires anyone This isn't the NBA. Finishing just outside the playoffs is not bad news -- it means you are only tweaks away from being where you want to be. We're an acquisition, unexpected big season, good luck, etc. away from a playoff run

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) You assume a GM will take the salary. I don't consider it likely I really wouldn't be shocked if he hung it up
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) Maybe the Sox don't want him back? That would also surprise me since one must think we're trying to make the playoffs next year.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Rays at the Cell next May 2. I can't believe we'd get outbid by the Rays
-
lol I really hope O-Dog goes deep again
-
I have to think this isn't the last we see of AJ
-
If PK was dealt/retired, we'd have quite a bit of money to spend next year.

Reed needs to get his offspeed stuff over and like Hawk said, generally be able to throw strikes when ahead in the count. Tends to start throwing wildly when ahead in the count and usually will wind up having to lay a hittable fastball in there.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) Hawk being critical of Reed. If Hahn gets a good offer for Reed, see ya Addison. That stuff just isn't anything special. He's got that look

We'll see what happens next year with Dunn. I'm happy to have him produce like he did this season, but I think he can do better. Hard for me to think much about this week with his health issues but it certainly is the case that the occasional 1-for-20 run will just be a part of the Adam Dunn Experience. I look forward to seeing Rios is in the 3 hole next year. I don't expect much of a regression, if any. If I'm the manager I'm starting Gordon in the 2 spot next year and hoping for the best. This is whether Kevin Youkilis is here or not. I doubt we get a 3B that profiles as a 2 hitter, but the guy some have mentioned here (Alberto Callaspo, don't know how we'd get him unless he's non-tendered) would probably fit in the 2 spot as well.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) The problem with Dunn and Konerko, is they're asking them to be 3-4 hitters, when they should be 5-6 hitters on a good team. Be healthy soon, Dunnski Also, channel those .240 BA's of old But I prefer the 40 dingers over the .240 BA

Juan Pierre > Dunn > Viciedo > Robin

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) You make a terrible antagonist lol
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Oh look, Adam Dunn doesn't make the playoffs again I agree, Dunn is definitely the problem
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) And yes, Mark Buehrle has some of the best stuff of any pitcher in baseball. mmmm
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) I don't think PK would even consider retiring before his contract is up. There's not even been a hint at that being possible. I'm not sure if Paulie wants to be a 38 year old playing a whole season the way he's played this year. His health and the ability to remedy it are big question marks for his future
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) Nope, put Dunn over there. I'd be fine with this too. What do you do with the DH spot? I'm not eager to move Dayan there at this stage of his career, especially since there isn't necessarily a must-play guy in the OF in our system right now. There are a few guys that might enter that conversation in the next couple years, though
-
In the event of a surprise (?) PK retirement, would you try to bring on Youk as our 1B?
-
I don't know how exactly he fits into our future plans, but I really like Youk. Glad to see him finishing fairly strong amidst the mess that is the rest of our offense

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Our pitchers throw some nasty pitches, but they also give up some majestic bombs. They've all turned into Liriano, four-five innings is maximum output. How come you guys all get mad when I suggest the solution?? It's Mark Buehrle. The man is a pitching machine and genius who coulda helped our staff get over this mental midgetness!!! Our starters have good stuff; they are unable to sustain it at all. Their lines add up to five innings of rottenness. Yet I'm the only one that appears to think Buehrle is the answer. This is just because it's the end of the season and they're getting pulled at the first sign of trouble

I'm excited for the time that Q gets warmed up for the first inning of games

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) That's what Boers and Bernstein were discussing this past week. he gawn
