  1. Got us some innings, gonna have to go to Charlotte and not throw every third or fourth sinker dead straight
  2. Man it looked like he barely hit it, take notes White Sox
  3. Stewart's outing is already better than anything we've gotten from Humber-Floyd in the past month or two
  4. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Apparently Axelrod is being called up tomorrow according so someone on the FutureSox board. I'd imagine Stewart will be Charlotte bound after tonight then. Yeah I don't think it mattered if this was a perfect game or what, had to go for bullpen depth
  5. Well I've said this a million times in Floyd-Humber outings, but a 2-run shot does not a bad outing make. Just keep pitching and show that you've got more sack than the two aforementioned pitchers.
  6. Sinkerballers as starters = sexy sinkerballers as relievers = no bueno
  7. Zach's sinker looks nasty tonight, but I'm not sure if those 4 seamer looking ones are intentional or not. AJ sure can't catch them but they are working well
  8. The fan that goes to 10 games before the halfway mark is not the attendance problem
  9. Does anyone actually know when to expect Rose back? I remember when they were saying a January return. If we destroy the team and he comes back with 30-40 games remaining, the fans will revolt
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) Well its more to the point of, ultimately you aren't going to stick Floyd into the pen. He's getting paid a lot of money and you aren't pulling him. So what are you asking, that the Sox move Humber/Q and add another starter (one who probably gets paid) to what is an already expensive rotation (Danks/Peavy/Floyd all make good money..adding a 4th to a cash strapped club doesn't make much sense to me). Yes. And IMO it is worth however many bad starts to get Gavin Floyd going again so you can keep him around next year without the deal looking like a waste.
  11. I have a feeling some guys went out and got s***ty in LA and RV wanted them to be fresh for this Cubs series
  12. Why trade Deng to get Harrison Barnes, whose ceiling seems to be that of Luol Deng?
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) Google's MyTracks app records your gps data and uploads it to google maps and google earth so you can see the route you took (along with other data). Great for hiking/riding. And stalking!
  14. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) around the house as im presently unemployed...as I stated before I have a bench, one 45 pound dumbbell, resistance cords(that I have recently added to the bench), a tractor tire, and a sledgehammer. Basically I was wondering if i should do tire work on a day by its self or if I should do it on a lift day... http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/1...8_4534260_n.jpg this is me. My brain is too fried to come up with something specific to do workout-wise with your parameters, but I suggest you start tracking your foods. Sign up for something like myfitnesspal and I bet eating something like 3500 calories/day with a high-ish protein amount (200 grams or more, I know this may be hard on your budget -- chicken breast is your friend) will allow you to progress in your workouts while cutting some fat. I agree after looking at your pictures that you are leaner than your height and weight made me think. You've certainly been around a weight room before it looks like
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) A lot of that depends on genetics, but it also has to do with diet, as in not taking in much fat while performing your workouts and doing your cardio consistently. I find cutting fat and building muscle very easy, and I'm not untrained, I don't have a considerable body fat percentage and I'm not on the sauce. It has never been hard for me. I'll agree that some people are genetically gifted with the ability to gain lean or add on small amounts of muscle while in caloric deficit, but honestly you'd be hard pressed to find any research that documents this phenomenon
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) So next question would be, is there anyone of of the picks that is still unsigned that is worth going that far over slot for? I know Ayala generated some talk with potentially being a much earlier pick. I know he said 200,000 was absolutely not what he was looking for...I wonder if what he wants is more like $1M or more like the 400-500k we can offer.
  17. Youk and Bard for Thornton and Stewart. go.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) I've heard they think he may have some disease too, because he was losing a ton of weight I guess. They think he may have developed Glutton/Wheat allergies or something. I heard this all on The Score a week or two ago. Yeah that was weird but apparently solved, he said he had gained most of his weight back before he even went back to Charlotte
  19. Soxtalk has officially gone off its rocker. No way in hell I'd dump Adam Dunn. At this point he's more than a fair deal and you can't just go re-acquire guys that lead the MLB in home runs once you free up salary space. Rios is tough to call. If you care about this year (we did last time I checked, I can't tell what/if there is a coherent gameplan for the Soxtalk GM) you can't dump Rios right now, he's red hot and driving in runs at the same pace PK is. There's no reason to trade Peavy. Zero. Not unless you're conceding the division
  20. I think this sort of reeks of being a showcase start for a potential deal. However, Zach has the raw tools to be a pretty effective starter with a pretty good sinker and a good change and a curveball that is sometimes there. Used correctly, he'll hardly need anything but his sinker. It's tough to get that sinker to play out of the pen so I'm interested in seeing if he can get a nice rhythm going and getting ground balls today. This aggressive, light hitting Cubs team should not do well against a sinker because I don't think they have much of an opposite field approach across the board nor are they patient enough to wait for pitches up in the zone. Unless he's absolutely nails in this outing, he probably goes down the instant we have another starting pitcher around. If he gets shelled, I don't think he'll go straight down...still have to wait for Danks/acquired pitcher.
  21. Garza does not match up favorably against our fastball hitting team IMO inb4 someone posts stats that conflict what I'm saying
  22. If this is a problem from muscle imbalance, that's an inexcusable oversight from S&C/medical staff. That isn't hard to diagnose and doesn't take 4 weeks to treat if you find it early.
  23. The chances of simultaneously cutting fat and building muscle are minute unless the individual is relatively untrained, has a considerable BF %, or is on the sauce
