QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) What a major fail by Peavy. Dejesus should be on first with a bruise on his back. PK14, Never Forget -

QUOTE (Cali @ May 20, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) Ugh... Just watching the first inning. Maholm is THE PROTOTYPE to stifle the White Sox line-up. Gonna be a lot of 88 mph fastball being "blown" by our hitters haha If he pitches that well we sure won't have a chance...he didn't throw a pitch in the vicinity of the middle third in those 3 AB's -

Maholm made a bunch of good pitches that inning. We'll see if that keeps up. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) When Morel goes on the DL. When Hudson arrives
-
I'd say Morel is probably okay to play in case of emergency and they don't want to call someone up just to sit on the bench for a game or two. Obviously this PK business was unforeseen.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) That homerun yesterday went up and just carried and carried. I actually liked his first at bat better though. Dempster had him swinging at two high fastballs and he shortened up and hit the ball where it was pitched. He wasn't swinging to put it on waveland, he was just trying to get the runner in. I was most impressed with his at bat two days ago -- because he hit a fastball, took it to RF on a line. It's no secret that DV pounds breaking balls in the zone, but he has struggled with the heat. If he just takes it to RF, they have to throw him breaking balls. Seems like he's getting better at laying off the low and away breakers, but this is of course something every righty will fall prey to now and then. I will feel really optimistic about DV when I see him getting more hits on fastballs. For now he is at least covering most of them, fouling them off, and getting to the breaking stuff. Needs to keep racking up fastball hits to get out of Josh Fields land.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Ventura said Hudson shall be in Chicago on Tuesday, will back up Gordon at 2B and play 3B when/if Morel goes to DL. Beckham will still bat 2nd. Thank you. Translation: Orlando Hudson is Brent Morel's replacement

QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2012 -> 11:26 AM) It makes absolutely no sense to be playing Fukudome today against a LHP. Last night was the perfect chance to play him for Rios if you wanted to. BTW, Dunn is 3-28 in his career against Maholm. Maybe Rios is unable to play for some reason? Went out drinking with Peavy/Kane/Orton? -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2012 -> 08:26 AM) This injury has been a mini blessing in disguise as it's keeping Tank hot. Yep. And Paulie is always hot, so it's not like it matters to him when he's in the lineup. We're going to have to get creative in future NL games when all three are healthy and hot.

I'd say Escobar looks good at the plate until he finally hits in play. His at bats are a joy compared to a Brent Morel at bat. He doesn't swing at complete bulls***, has an approach that is anti-strikeout, and swings aggressively. He just hasn't hit much, unfortunately, and righties have really found his hole -- slider down and in.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 02:02 AM) It's worth noting that article says he agreed to take the BACKUP role with the White Sox over starting elsewhere, I think I was pushing to get him in 08, like Balta said, Kenny always gets his guy. With that said, if they end up DL'ing Morel, I want Hudson playing 3B and hitting ninth. With nothing being official, I'm guessing the article from whitesox.com is being respectfully speculative. You don't want to call out your starting third baseman when you are speaking on behalf the White Sox.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 20, 2012 -> 12:32 AM) There's also nothing wrong with having 2 Alejandro De Aza type players, haha. Especially one that can play CFer like SpiderMan. I'd take one for free, but it seems asinine to spend anything on one when our OF seems filled for several years
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 19, 2012 -> 11:53 PM) His ceiling offensively probably is Alejandro De Aza. Hey, there's nothing wrong with putting up a .800 OPS as a CFer, especially if you have the defensive skills of Bourjos. I am pleased with ADA Don't know why you should trade for someone that may be ADA, when you have ADA

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 20, 2012 -> 12:21 AM) OKC is the popular pick, obviously. But I think San Antonio can give them a tough series. I'd say OKC in 6 or 7. This is where I'm leaning.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) It definitely does... Now, here's where I see what you all can do. Is anyone interested in helping re-skin based on a new version of this software? I'll give you the test site and then we can switch it over when the software upgrade is done. Honestly, that's the biggest reason I haven't moved it up to the next version is we don't have a skin that would be even close to the good work done on this one. Any takers? It will be a lot of work... but everyone here would really appreciate it, I think. anddddddddddd crickets

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 19, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) I think that's the likely scenario. Escobar switch hits so does Hudson but does he have the arm for 3rd base ? I'm guessing anyone that was once regarded as one of the best defensive second basemen in the league can play an adequate third base. See Omar Vizquel -- not good, but good enough
-
I feel like there are lots of guys that have done everything right, except hit. We have several of them on our roster. That doesn't mean you only buy high on prospects, but I don't feel that's a great argument. I also feel like you are saying his ceiling is Alejandro De Aza.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ May 19, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) An, although there's really no correlation, the only time Beckham has provided any offense was when he played 3B. Personally, I would move Beckham to 3rd and let Hudson play 2nd. Hudson has shown to be a good 2b and never played 3rd while Beckham has shown the ability to play 3b at the MLB level. I don't think the Sox will make this move but I would. Who knows maybe Beckham finds a comfort level and starts hitting. I don't see how it could hurt. In hindsight, it seems pretty absurd that Beckham was moved to open up a spot for Teahen. Beckham was playing out of position at third base. It's not the right position for his defensive skillset and raises the expectations for his bat tremendously. I don't see a reason to mess with him right now. Orlando Hudson is expendable -- if you f*** him over by moving him out of position, who cares? He's 34 and signed for the league minimum.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 19, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) The NBA has officially announced that simply being in the vicinity of Kobe Bryant is now an automatic foul.
