  1. I'm not going to ignore the several years of being a pretty good pitcher for Danks...but it's looking a little bit like he'll just never be consistent enough to be acelike. The contract will probably be a bit of an overpayment, when we thought it could have been under market value.
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) Doesnt he have a no trade clause this year? fuuuuuu
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) This Danks contract is going to wind up a bad one. The dude sucks. It's early enough that the Yanks might grab it
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) he's gonna wear out the bullpen in a hurry. rain! rain! rain! Maybe this is all a ploy to keep Axelrod from starting
  5. Who told Danks he could throw all 88-90mph fastballs with no semblance of control without getting hammered?
  6. The one time we give a pitcher a contract....
  7. When/if Santiago becomes reliable (this is still a possibility) and Nate Jones gets more time on the hill, things will look better. Add in Crain and things are fine.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Oh come on, saying that it was a mistake to bring in a righty to face the lefty hitter was far from "in hindsight" If (pure speculation) Thornton was definitely your closer tonight, Reed is your only option there. This is probably why he let Ohman walk two lefties in the first place, not wanting to bring in a righty to face several lefties in a row. Thornton only came in later because it became clear that no closer would be needed.
  9. Just one of those nights. Easy to manage in hindsight but not a single reliever did his job tonight (save Stewart) so it's tough to argue at this point. FWIW, I see no indication that we need to be shipping Thornton out. Tonight is the only night he's looked remotely hittable.
  10. Might as well not burn his arm for no reason
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Alex Rios is 6'5". It doesn't appear he can dunk. It's not so much that he can't jump, it's just much more difficult than it looks to time it properly and jump from the correct place
  12. As it always goes, bad bullpen pitching makes the manager look bad
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) That looked a lot different in slow motion. He might have been out. I just can't believe how out he was on a pitch like that. Bad baserunning.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) Can't believe AJ swung at that pitch Looks like the guy has a pretty tough slider. I'm ready to see whichever reliever is next
  15. That had to have been the worst jump ever.
  16. Must have been an immensely high pop up
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) He's a LOOGY, plain and simple. If a manager doesn't know that, then he doesn't know his squad. Must have been confused about his LOOGY walking two lefties in a row
  18. He definitely wanted to see everything Ohman had in the tank. We found out for sure.
  19. Robin is definitely a "sink or swim" kind of guy
  20. It'd be cool if Ohman could put up enough numbers that some stupid GM trades for him when the reliever market gets very seller-friendly like always. Okay, that's crazy.
  21. lol @ Ohman trying to field that grounder WOW at Alexei fielding grounders
  22. Tank not afraid to hack at first pitch curveball
