  1. Anyone know of U of I's journalism department?
  2. My dad told me that the Soutside Hitmen converted him from Cardinal/National League fan over to the the good guys.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) He was 6 at Georgia. He was 8 at Kannapolis. Don't go out and by that 23 jersey quite yet. JD might not want that either. Yeah, he probably doesn't want to be traded.

    The Art of the Pickup

I think when teaching someone unexperienced how to get women, normally instead of teaching them pick up lines and strategies what is far more important is to teach people to be confident. As long as they believe that being themself will work, it probably will. There are obviously some exceptions to this.
  5. I did find it funny that after all that build up about someone getting raped they were just making fun of the Indiana Jones movie. Some of the Chinese stuff was also funny. Pretty average to below average episode.
  6. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 12:40 PM) I hope not. Not for 20 Years at least. I say its a foregone conclusion, lets just do it now.
  7. QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) The thing about me is that I think faster than I type. I make the mistakes. Then, I realize I made them after I have published my comment. As I try to speak spanish, I'm more limited by lack of vocabulary than anything else. I understand enough grammar to communicate clearly, but oftentimes don't know enough spanish words to describe what I'm trying to talk about. It is easier on the internet when a dictionary is available.
  8. QUOTE (Cubano @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Thank, Jake. I can post in English. Somedays you wake up and can't speak it or write it and other days I can be better than presient Bush. That's not saying much.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) Yo tambien.
  10. Cubano, if you'd like to speak in spanish I'm in my fourth year of learning spanish and can try to help translate to the other posters. Also, what's the word on Viciedo? By this I mean how does he play? I saw a little about his fielding, but what about his offense? Does he project to be a big leaguer soon?
  11. I'm not sure if he was trying to say this or not, but instead of A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub, you could link to the respective TalkXXX forum. Oh wait, I guess TalkXXX would be SLaM.
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) There was a time in the 70s when I wore some pretty tight jeans, no back pockets to spoil the lines. The no back pockets line takes the cake.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) Cub fans won't convert. They'll keep packing that dump. One thing about the Cubs, you would think if they keep the same team they'll probably be locks for the playoffs again. The only thing that will prevent them eventually from getting to the WS is the postseason choke thing. The 2007 team looked a lot like our 2006 team, and the records were reversed for the 2. I hope the Cubs stand pat and get inexplicably worse.
  14. I find him mildly enjoyable. I wish instead of him having a show, he did all his skits in commercials between innings.
  15. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:16 AM) Hitter catch onto the fact that he will hang breaking balls because he is too afraid to snap it off. He gets away throwing fastballs the first time through, but a pitcher has to throw off speed stuff the second time through to keep hitters off balance. That's when things go bad. I'm not sure that pitchers are ever afraid to "snap off" their curveball. If they would be afraid of anything, they'd be afraid not to "snap it off." Having an inability to throw a good curveball consistently, on the other hand, may be viable.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Justin Morneau deserves NOTHING. Gotta love that .250/.306/.410/.716 September line or his .180/.242/.230/.472 line over his last 15 games when his team has needed him most. An .877 OPS first baseman? Give me f***ing break. If he wasn't getting BY FAR the most RBI opportunities of any AL MVP contender he wouldn't even be mentioned. Pedroia gets my vote by default. Unfortunately, CQ batted .000 with 0 RBIs, HRs, et al. And I refuse to vote for Pedroia. I hate him.
  17. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) Wasserman's on facebook? I didn't know that. I've got about 25 sox minor leaguers on my friends list. Now I've spent the past hour adding sox/sox prospects.
  18. QUOTE (Swishin' Aint Easy @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) Think anyone can make one? I could really use a new background for October!!! You may have to update your sig now.
  19. I will absolutely buy (per soxtalk rules, aka at face) two non-upper deck seats if anyone has extras.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) I sure hope you thought you would need 4. I only needed two tickets and if I'm not able to get any, I will be a pissed off guy. ^^ I'm very disappointed.
