  1. If it didn't injure Jenks' confidence for future games, and we might need him, I'd consider Clifford for another inning tonight
  2. So is Coop preaching 3-1 and 3-2 changeups to the best hitters in the lineup? Crazy
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) He has a better chance of hitting one into the boxes lefty than he does righty. Not sure about that but I agree he can hit it there lefty
  4. You figure Berkman has had so few looks right-handed lately that he might not be as locked in from that side
  5. Ozzie is playing scared of the porch. Might not be wrong there
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Vizcaino is the perfect hitter to combat Bobby and I actually said that to someone at the game when he came up on Sunday. Vizcaino is just a slap hitter and with the way bobby throws that's a perfect guy to have up. Veterans also know you don't take strikes in RBI spots. First good pitch you gotta get it because you might not get another
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) The infield needs to play close enough here that if they can get to it, they can get Taveras out at 1b. A leadoff infield single would fuel the fire. Tavares will bunt in my opinion.
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Wheeler had a better year than lidge also. In certain ways I guess, not sure I'm totally on board with you there though
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Alright...I think we'll see 3 pitchers this inning. Agreed. The La Russa Special is the way to handle this. We'll see what Ozzie's gut thinks
  10. The good thing about facing it in the 8th is you get lesser hitters or pinch hitters later. I don't want to see Vizcaino-Jenks 2 though. At least not with a man on. Veterans are dangerous
  11. Wheeler had a better year than Qualls anyways this year
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) BTW, even though it's after the fact, great job by Ozzie of using a pr for Everett. Yep. He didn't just lay back and get forgetful. His head was in the game.
  13. Doesn't Wheeler naturally have a scared look in his eyes? Contrast that with Pettitte who looks like he can kill you with a look
  14. No Bobby? You want Hermy tonight? I want him to pitch but not as a save for his first shot back. Is the back of the order due up in the 9th this far ahead anyways
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) Loved Quatros, but not so much 2nd day. Crust gets hard in the microwave. It doesn't see day number two or hour number two with me
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Looks like it's going to be Politte, who scares the s*** out of me with the short porch. Tavares can't hit the porch (famous last words). I do worry that Berkman would face Cliff too instead of Cotts though
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) /drool Tried Italian Village yet? It is like 80% grease. Loved it. Hey! Ate Quatros tonight. Medium Pizza deal. Good stuff
  18. Cotts COULD face Tavares. He can't knock the ball out of the park so the risk isn't that much. He could very well try to bunt
  19. How you feel about Politte for batter number one, Cotts to Berkman and then Jenksy to close out the last four outs?
