-
NO thank you.. Stats NO thank you he had a career year in Texas, he more of a bench guy than a everyday OF ..IMO
-
ChiSox.. your right there is a kid by the name of Josh Wilson, he was playing SS for most of 2004, I could see them using him at 2b.. but, He played Double-a ball for most of last year so I figure knowing the Marlins.. He going to need another year of seasoning.
-
In 2003, your right but was given the chance to take the starting job from Jimiez(sp) as well as Playing CF Last year he was handed the starting 04 job, and funny we had to trade for Alomar again, thats not a failure? and in 02 was brought up to start to take over the 2b job once we traded Ray-Ray away The original tandum was 2b Harris SS D'Angelo Jimenez 1/2 the piece of the puzzle is gone.. only 1/2 more left.

Chisoxfn, congrats for livnig in SoCal, I will be there soon I hope.. BUt enough already with the bashing of Colon...Your telling me that if the Sox put up the money i suggested that you would not be happy this time last year? WIth that being said.. being you seem to know more than me.. WHO is going to play 2nd base for the Marlins once this so called deal would go through? Stop with the Polanco/Cabera talk also, we both know your not going convice me, I have stop preaching who the better man is and given prove..so jsut stop its old and we both know the Sox are going to go with the Cheaper useless player here. And when he fails to keep his starting job for the 3rd straight year.. then what? it really simple fix the problem b4 it is a problem.

I be happy with just reyes.. But I know what you want I would have to looki into the mets farm system and see what they have and be willing to part with. You have to remeber also that they are getting Sosa for nothing since the Cubs are picking up his Salary. Think about it we were to give up Lee and Cotts and get Prior and Reyes.. Talk about steal! And with the extra cash we save, we can now go after Beltran! Again this is all a pipe dream, IMO this deal is only would work on MVP 2004 with the fair trades turned off! -
Jaret Wright Stats Maybe 3-4 a year not 6 Million a year for a guy who has had one good year in 6. And last year he played in a pitchers park.. This is a pitcher we don't want here, I would rather have Clement than Wright.

The only was I make this deal is this.. and yes it won't happen WE Get SOSA and Prior Cubs get Lee and Cotts and Pay for Sosa Salary We trade sosa to Mets for Reyes Only way I would do this deal -
Esp hitting in Corrs lite.. that lineup would be great with him at the top and Harris at the bottom..

Finally someone else sees what I have been preaching since coming here.

Like most of the time you missed the point... :banghead

Funny I was there July 7.. and was not a sell out.. saw the triple play..

93/4, Frank was a superstar one of the best in the game.. and we were winning. 95 after the strike.. we were hurting and still are. last year, as stated above yours it depended on the day of the week. But Frank is not the star he once was after the Contract dispute a couple years back, futher hurt his status. And Mags, granted puts up great numbers but is to quite to be a 'superstar"player. I think that the closest thing we have is Marky B.
-
Those were only on Monday and Tuesday nights.. Come to the park on Wenesday nights when its not a 1/2 price night.. BIG DIFFERENCE
-
While at a game in '03 sitting in front of JM wife, I said that.. and her response.. "We were winning in 2000 and they still didn't show up" So winning is not enough, your team needs a superstar to put the fans in the seats. Both go hand and hand.
-
I just don't understand why we are throwing money at Wright for one good year. I would rather have Leiter for the 2 years (if he would come here) as an leadership type role on the staff. Might even be able to help Marky become a better pitcher.
-
Why are we not looking to get Leiter instead? I would pay for a guy with a better track record than have Wright on this team. I mean I see wright as this years version of Ponson.

1st off, I came to this board and brought fresh new ideas..and got jumped on becuase I don't want the players the board swears by. I defend my idea becuase I know what it takes to win, but more imporantly put fans in seats. Lets put it this way, who are the avg Sox fans and the local media going to get more excited about Polanco or Orlando Cabera? Do you know the main reason why Cubs drew so well when they were losing? Other than Wriggley Feild? They had a superstar something this team has been missing since Bo left. Now dont' get me wrong I want nothing more than the Sox to win, but lets face it we need people in the seats to attract the big time FA to come here. Yeah I love the fact that I bought my 2 season tickets and get three for free, but I would rather see the stadium filled every day like the old days. And by getting these "bums" such as Polanco, Wright, Dye.. Your Avg. Sox fans are not going to be rushing to the box office to get tickets, which we need. The only reason I was so gung-ho about the Randy Johnson deal is, for once it shows that the front office is finally learning that you need big time talent in here to both win and pack the place. Lets face it, we all want the Sox to win..but I would love it to have to wait on a waiting list for season tickets also.. meaning people want to see this team.
