i want to keep contreras, i think our current rotation will be intact not counting mccarthy with the exception of a new spot starter "schmidt possibly"

Embarressed Johnny Little Johnny was in his nursery class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up- fireman, policeman,salesman... etc... Johnny was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father. "My fathers an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes ,if the offer is really good, he'll go out to the alley with some screamin f** and take it up the ass." The teacher ,obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some coloring, and took little Johnny aside to ask him,"Is that really true about your father?" "No," said Johnny, "he plays for the Chicago Cubs, but I was too embarassed to say".

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) The ONLY way Schmidt is a good idea is if it's Joe Borchard for him straight up. And even then the trade is in the Giants favor. I mean if we want a guy to put up an ERA in the 5's (or more likely 6's at the Cell), get totally lit up every other start we might as well keep BMAC in the rotation. At least he'll gain experience for next year and we won't have to give him 3 and a half mil just to get lost. I would be ok with a trade like Joe Borchard for Jason Schmidt and Cash (enough to cover his buy out and most of his salary this year. Otherwise keeping a has been scrub like him on the roster doesn't make sense. We can do much better. i never thought about putting borchard in the trade, maybe bonds could give him some juice to bolster his stats and then they would have an all steroid outfield, they would probably rather have anderson

schmidt would pitch good with us and hes gonna be on a winning team so that will help

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Sorry folks, but if we have the chance to snag Jason Schmidt, we need to do it. That bumps Contreras into the pen for the post-season. Having more than 5 reliable starting pitchers in the play-offs can do wonders for a ball club. Look at the Red Sox last year, they had Derek Lowe and Bronson Arroyo coming out of the pen until later in the ALCS! Getting Schmidt would only bolster our rotation even more, a change of scenery may also be what Schmidt needs to get him back on track. I love Brandon McCarthy but there is no way you can rely on him to be solid in the post-season, let alone in consecutive starts. We need to get Jason Schmidt. CWSOX45 I wouldnt put contreras in the pen, id put el duque in the pen if anybody theres always room for more bmacs, if we get rid of him its no the end of the world, someone else will step it up in the minors "lance broadway"

any chance i can change "benchwarmer" to "Member of PK Fan Club" or "Dynamite poster"
