QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) Haze > Halo 3. And I suppose youve played Haze to know this Haze wont touch Halo 3, seriously the pre release of Halo 3 was awesome IMO, Haze I think it will be alot like the game Fear, have a good story mode/campaign and not be good for multiplayer. Only speculation though.

Yeah Garrets doing alright lol. What is the record for most RBI in a game isnt it 12?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 21, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) Harold and Kumar Go To Amsterdam teaser at the My Space site: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoid=15977677 YES!! Loved the White Castle one and I see they are bringing back alot of the old cast, Neil Patrick Harris (actor guy), freakshow. Also the cop looks familiar I think from that one Fox show 'The Winner" which stopped after 3 weeks. American Pie: Beta House ^No trailer but heres the next American Pie, the Naked Mile was alright, series has went downhill ever since Jim and the gang kinda broke up.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) I just played a game of madden online vs. a guy 24-1... lets just say he is now 24-2. Beat him 52-27... He must have played a bunch of chumps. Im 10-1 so far. I like using the Lions or Saints, love both offenses and their playbooks.

Im gonna go ahead and bow out from this league. For starters were not getting anywhere and excluding chimpy ive been in leagues with 'some' of these guys and they dont check their teams. (not to be taken personally) You can count me out, plus I have 4 teams already.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) My roommate likes Incubus. Thats not a bad thing. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) I remember the fire alarms being pulled at least twice a week in the middle of the night at SIU and having to evacuate. So annoying. Dude that happened all the time at my dorm at Purdue. Except kids were lighting trash cans on fire, and of course it had to happen at 3 or 4 in the morning.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Honestly, you're going to get a different answer from virtually everyone, pesonal opinion definitely plays a role. I know I personally don't like Rudi Johnson a whole lot as a first rounder, but that's where he's going. You can get a rankings list from basically any publication, the problem is you're probably not going to agree with any of them 100%. You dont like Rudi? Hes one of the more consistent RBs you could ask for. Every year he guarantees over 1000 yds rushing and 12 tds. Its nice because drafting him I know what to expect. Although Ill only take him if I have one of the last two picks in the first round. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) After I went ahead and made a nice pretty excel spread....I found this site...It's free http://www.fftoday.com/ You can customize your scroing there and then they give you rankings. In our league it's 1pt per reception, so someone like Westbrook is more valuable. It also helps to know things like Cam Cameron will use Ronnie Brown like he did LT, and while he is no LT, he shold get a lot of catches out of the backfield. SHHHH keep that on the DL. Thx for the site, I use Fantasyfootballcafe.com, they have tons of different ranking systems, including one where receptions are one point. That really increases Reggie Bushs value, hell I might even take him first round with that point system. Yeah I also heard Ronnie Browns value is on the upswing, although last year he disappointed me so its hard to go back to him this year unless I can get him late second I dont feel hes worth it.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) Replace Dave Matthews Band with Brand New and you've got my situation last year. Wow that sucks...I absolutely hate punk, and Brand New is just so annoying. Dave Matthews I could prolly stand though. My first roommate didnt even like music. He was really weird then I changed rooms, unfortunately after I moved my nearby neighbors loved to blast the song..College Girls Are Easy by Eazy E, over and over. That song just pisses me off, although I did enjoy walkin into their rooms and asking them if college girls are so easy how come you guys never talk to any? Pretty sure they hated me haha.

Well...heres a list of your typical music at parties, mostly hip hop, I dont know if this is exactly what your aiming for but its a start. Promiscuous - Nelly Furtado* We Takin Over - DJ Khaled Hands Up - Lloyd What You Know About That - TI This Is Why Im Hot - Mims My Humps - Black Eyed Peas* Ignition (remix) - R Kelly* I Know You See It - Yung Joc Slow Motion - Juvenile* Slow Jamz - Kanye West* Id say your best bets are the ones with an asterisk next to it.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 08:19 AM) Haha, you're on. And I just saw The Prestige last night--wow. I figured out what was going on pretty early in the movie, but still, what a mind trip. Prestige was a very good movie. If you like that one I would recommend seeing The Illusionist. Its with Edward Norton, also a magic movie. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) You mean the Passion of the Aztecs? Haha, yeah, still was solid, better than the Passion of Christ I thought.

Stone and Hawk are doing a really good job, these are some of the few broadcasts I have enjoyed in a while. Although I did notice Stone repeated alot of the stuff he said the first game of the series in the second but whos paying attention.

QUOTE(Linnwood @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 11:09 PM) No, I really would. And there is no way that is going to go for a million, let alone millions. Y not? The owner is the one selling it, its his price tag isnt it? Set it high and if no one buys lower it. Honestly if I caught it Id have to ask for at least a million, Id love to keep it because its a priceless piece of history but it would prolly just sit on a shelf in my closet collecting dust.

QUOTE(Beastly @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) It's nice to hear the reassurance here, because I'm going to be quite lost when I go down there. I'm not wanting to change who I am or what I believe in, I just would like to make more friends, maintain a relationship with someone very close to me back home and just take it easy. I wouldn't mind going to go out and socialize, but I guess drinking and dancing isn't really my thing. Dancing only is my thing when I'm at a wedding or at a school function. I agree that people change a lot but I hope that I'll remain mostly of who I want to be and have some of the same beliefs. I'm sure going out won't be a problem, it's just finding those people who share interests (sports, World of Warcraft, video games, D&D, Warlord the CCG and Magic the Gathering.) Again, sorry for the random posts out to people on the board, but I'm one to write better than communicate my thoughts than through speaking. I'm sure the transition will be an adjustment, but will be a positive one. Along the lines of meeting people I really think Purdue does a great job maybe better than any campus as far as i know of introducing freshman to the campus and other people. They have somethin called BGR where only the freshman; and some upperclassmen who serve as counselors who up about a week and a half before classes start and before all the upperclassmen move in and they assign you to a group of people from 10-12 and for a week and a half you go to activities during the week and meet tons of people as well as the kids in your group. Granted some of the activities are stupid you get to meet alot of people. Really helps freshmen get situated before the older kids move in. Youll have no problem meetin kids at Eastern (believe thats where u said u were goin). There I heard from a friend they usually tend to group people on floors by major and interests. From my experience when I lived in the dorms for only a semester due to pledging and leaving for a frat, everyone got along even with their differences, I think youll be surprised by some of the people you meet.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) I hate the sound of Steve Stone's voice. Thats the reason Ive always hated him. Hes monotone, emotionless, but still Ive actually enjoyed this broadcast, Stone is very knowledgeable. -

Congratulations Tom Glavine on getting 300 and better yet vs the Cubs. Barring a RJ return to baseball he will probably be the last 300 win pitcher.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) there is she better? Megan Fox is awesome I dont know if any of you have been watching the X games but Scott Murray who was attempting to do a double backflip one of the toughest tricks; in well I dont know what event (something with a motorcycle and ramp ) he also crashed on the way down. But yeah Jake Browns fall was just hard to watch.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) Pretty eager. It wouldn't have anything to do with you winning last year, would it? What is the deal? Will there be Soxtalk football leagues this year, or will they all be run through Talkbears? Hmm well if thats the case I guess I might have to join TalkBears even though I wish not to Besides the site could prolly use a Packer fan.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) Pete Rose is not even close to the 3rd best hitter of all time. Why is that? Seriously whats your reasoning, just about any one of those players I listed I could put in the top 3 arguably, the fact that he holds the record for most hits of all time made me put him there.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) he is a great player and all, but I have very little respect for him, and I wouldn't even consider him in the top 5 hitters of all time, let alone top 10. In case you haven't noticed, though it isn't confirmed you should probably realize that about half of the league is using them. Obviously this is just pure speculation but steroids are no longer criticized as they were a decade or so ago, and are actually now widely accepted. Hence why more and more players are using them and they are becoming more widely available. Theres really nothing Selig and crew can do about this mess. Of course the idea of the asterisk comes around but like LCR noted earlier other players have I gues sort of cheated pitchers with spitballs and etc, if your gonna throw an asterisk in front of Barry why not them, its just not fair to single one player out. Now no hes definitely not in the top 5 hitters of all time but top 10 yes I would throw him in there. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 12:15 AM) Now you've taken it too far. Steroids and HGH, whether or not he took them, don't improve hitting ability and hand-eye coordination. He still had to amazing hand-eye and hitting ability to hit those homers, steroids or not. Here's my top 10. 1. Bonds 2. Ruth 3. Cobb 4. Gwynn 5. Rose 6. H Wagner 7. DiMaggio 8. A-Rod 9. Hammerin' Hank 10. Ichiro 10. Mantle Dont improve hitting ability? Is hitting for power an ability? I would say so, they definitely do increase your ability to hit for power thats kind of ridiculous to say that they dont improve your hitting. This is arguable though. If you ask me thats an AWFUL top 10, Bonds first? As much as I like him all Bonds does is hit for power, granted he has hit over 300 some years, he has a career avg under 300. Babe Ruth should easily top that list, I believe his career average was a 342, not to mention his HR total could be higher if he hadnt of pitched at the beginning of his career. Really surprised you left two of the best hitters in the game off your list, Stan Musial who had 6 batting titles and Ted Williams well he speaks for himself. Just for the hell of it heres my well top 10: 1. Babe Ruth 2. Ted Williams 3. Pete Rose 4. Ty Cobb 5. Tony Gwynn 6. Hank Aaron 7. Lou Gherig 8. Stan Musial 9. Roger Hornsby 10. Barry Bonds Some notables deserving of a spot, Willie Mays, Wade Boggs, Honus Wagner, Rod Carew, Dimaggio.
