  1. Hmm well gonna do Chicago but swap out a team Coaches: Scott Skiles Lou Pinella Ozzie Guillen Mike McCarthy GMs: Jon Paxson Ted Thompson Kenny Williams Jim Hendry (out of personal dislike)
  2. I would, Helton is in a huge slump right now. Hes not doing much, hardly any homers, only thing thats been impressive is his average. Add to that, Salty can fill in at catcher and first base so when your catcher has an off day and what not. Mind as well give it a shot, your getting a fairly similar player.
  3. Do it. Andruw has been just awful this year, though dont be surprised if his numbers get better with Tex taking some pressure off of him. If your proposing this its highly unlikely the other person accepts thats if they are smart. May want to add some other player of low value because Grandersons and Hudsons value couldnt be any higher right now.
  4. Randy Johnson will get it, and he might just keep playing until he does. Other than that I dont think any player is going to come close to 300 wins for a long time, players are either getting injured or blowing out their arms.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:37 PM) Think they'd be interested in Erstad/Podsednik? Haha, a big no to Erstad, if Podsednik was for sure healthy and hitting I dont see a team who wouldnt want him. Knowing the Twins they will find some player in their minors to get the job done.
  6. How about bringing back the hot chick contest? I know its been heard over and over but would fill the "SEX" spot in SLAM.
  7. Id love to have him but how can Santana think about leaving when they could have one of the best staffs in the league next year and very well win the division. Granted they might be losing Hunter, which for some reason I think he will resign with the Twins, all they really need is a solid leadoff bat in that lineup to replace Castillo and they might be set. Johan Santana Francisco Liriano (if healthy) Matt Garza Boof Bonser Baker/Silva Sick staff and to go along with a great bullpen.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) pax could have and should have put together and offered a better deal... No way. Forking that much out for Garnett was kind of ridiculous. If the Bulls were to do that yes we might win a Chamionship but it would ruin our depth alot for future years. A trade like that would really nullify what Paxson has done since he becamse the GM. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) Screamin A Smith just said that Boston is now easily in the top 3 of the EAST, maybe top two. Calling Eastern Conference finals and maybe NBA finals. I really dont see it, besides those guys, who does Boston have? Those three are pretty good, dont get me wrong, but Boston is getting rid of most of thier team to get Garnett, who else is going to be around? I dont see it either but how can you not like having a guy like Allen to drain threes on the arch, a go to the basket player in Pierce and post player in Garnett. Beyond Pierce, Allen and Garnett they are extremely young. Who do they got, Rondo, Perkins, Allan Ray, Glen 'Big Baby' Davis and Pruitt. If their big 3 play most of the game yeah Id put them at the top of the Eastern Conference but their depth and youth will kill them. They also could really use a solid defender.

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) I don't understand why I would pay 7 or 9 bucks to see a show I can see on television... just my own opinion. I agree, really ever since they changed writers the show went downhill. I lost interest and just cant get myself to go see it. Ill wait for it to hit Fox or Blockbuster.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) Mark is so damn awesome. Bobby seems to be back in his groove after a little rough patch, so that's great to see. How'd Richar look? Obviously judging from the boxscore he had a very nice game. Richar did good. First hit was a basehit up the middle, although Mcdonald fielded it but couldnt make the play. His next hit was to the left side, Glaus was playing in and he put it between ss and Glaus for a hit. Then Owens hit him in. He didnt get much action on defense besides the dp turns. Nice start, and against Halladay surely a big confident boost for Ownes also.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 02:50 AM) I know there's a lot of people on here who enjoy Christian Bale's work, as I am definitely one of them. There's one movie that always seems to get over looked for some reason, Equilibrium. It's just a damn good action movie with some outstanding acting spliced in. I always found it to be more enjoyable than the Matrix due to there being some real acting going on in Equilibrium. I agree, Equilibrium was a pretty solid movie but I still enjoyed the Matrix more or at least the first movie. Btw has anyone seen Rescue Dawn? If so how is it?
  12. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) Pedro Lopez? He's on the Reds now, right? Yeah he is, matter of fact hes been starting games at short lately for them.
  13. Bonds hit 754, 1 more and prolly will come this weekend.
  14. Loved the Donkey Kong trio of games for SNES. Ken Griffey Jr Baseball was awesome too. The Simpsons game I liked was the one where Bart walked the streets jumping on those pieces of paper and youd choose between the two doors that popped up. That was a great game though I could NEVER beat it.
  15. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) With training camp starting, I figured I would ask the question. Id imagine soon, I guess you just started the thread for it Oh and if whomever needs info on who was in League 2 last year I commished although dont wish to commish again, Ill give you the names of who was in league 2.

  18. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) I liked the space needle. Are you saying it's not that awesome b/c you didn't like the glass bottom? Or what? No, dont get me wrong I enjoyed the CN Tower and Space Needle. I was just really disappointed by what they meant by glass bottom, I thought they meant the whole floor, boy was I wrong, just partial sections. Its funny because you know that when you step on it its going to support you but I still found myself stepping on and getting right off, just a weird feeling. Space Needle I still liked better though, mostly because it had a better view and I caught it on a sunny clear day and could see the mountains and everything.
  19. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Why would he waste his time trying out in Tampa. They got Garcia, Simms, Gradkowski and the rights to Plummer. He should just fly to Atlanta and call it one. I agree, Culpep doesnt really fit that system like Garcia, I only base that on the offense Gruden runs though. Atlanta has to be kicking themselves right now, Vick might be done for the year, after trading Schaub leaves them with Harrington who has yet to flash his Heisman skills and now Daunte goes to Tampa. I would love to see Petino go back to Louisville its in his best interest now. And to put the icing on the cake, Marcus Vick leaves the Dolphins and takes his brothers spot.
  20. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) I emailed the Jays on Monday about how they should be ashamed of setting ticket prices $63 to watch a sub-.500 team, and when they wonder why they get no people in that place, maybe they should look at the dollar amounts. Still no response- go figure. Perhaps you should Email Frank? There lies your answer.
  21. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) Speaking of the CNtower, how is that? If youve been to the Needle in Seattle, its very similar. Definitely taller and Id say the real only difference is there is multiple levels and one floor has a glass bottom, trust me its not as awesome as it sounds but well youll see if you go. If your gonna be in Toronto for a while, mind as well go up it, also see the hockey hall of fame, really about it, theres some famous mansion too but heh sounded boring so I didnt bother.
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 17, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) NCAA 08 is great. The new legend mode is absolutely fantastic. They improved on the race for the heisman mode in a huge way. You create a guy and take him through his HS playoffs, then try and work your way up the depth chart at whatever school you go to. You also only control your one guy. IE: if you're a qb and the coach calls a handoff, you just hike the ball and hand it off and don't control the runner. It's different, but I love it. Sounds like Maddens superstar mode. You pick your guy and only control him, I like it because I knew if I controlled all the players Id continue to blowout the cpu. The thing I hated about their past games was that Id go undefeated and not get to play in the BCS title game, absolutely ticked me off every time.
  23. 63 really? When I went I sat lower deck about 15 rows up from the Sox dugout and for two people it was I wanna say 42, might have been a promotion day. I suggest you save your money, the park is a piece of junk, just go up to the CN Tower and watch it from above for less
  24. 1st place, well then stay put. Been a couple days since you posted this but I would think you dropped Fuentes at least, he lost his job before the break and Corpas has it now. Since Schilling and Perez both are on the DL you could use Halladays arm. Id keep an eye on your hitting though, when Curt and Oliver come back I might make that trade if Im you. Especially since you look like you could use a power bat in that lineup. Just my 2 cents.
