  1. Pablo is awesome...he acts like every hit is his first and his last.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 12:01 PM) Contreras actually looking like he'll go deep into this game. That's nice. Some runs, please? But for Granderson and Guillen, he's been solid.
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) How about getting a ball out of the infield sorry, we prefer pop-ups.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) I would say he is ahead of all of these guys: Scott Rolen Chipper Jones Eric Chávez Garrett Atkins Aramis Ramírez Glaus Mora Tracy Inge based on his offense and defense. That would make him top 5. I haven't seen much of Zimmerman to base an opinion, but his stats are impressive. I just dont understand how you can argue that Crede is better than Ramirez, Chipper Jones, Garret Atkins or Scott Rolen. I honestly dont think a single GM would take Crede over ANY of those guys. This is HAWK homerism at its worst here.
  5. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 07:15 PM) He had no choice, he had to protect the runner...or at least try...that's just the way it goes sometimes. Leyland outguessed Guillen, not a huge surprise. Ex White Sox 1st rounder Bobby Seay....Grilli....Hernandez (Roberto)....Guerrier, what is it with ex-Sox middle relievers in the Central? Someone needs to acquire Rauch and Majewski...and Royce Ring while we are at it.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) ARod with 2 homers tonight . He has 12 homers and 30 rbi. What a cancer. I hope he beats Barry.
  7. I cant believe we are letting Danks drown like this. He has been so much more than we could have asked, and we are doing absolutely nothing to help the kid.
  8. It is absolutely amazing that a man with the foresight to acquire Dewon Day, Danks, Aardsma, Thornton, Jenks, etc., can stick with Darrin Erstad. Watching this performance only further confuses me.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) I love him more. I don't see you in Game Threads giving up to the second Jim Thome stat updates. .342/.561/.974/1.535 btw Did you know he likes hot dogs? Man, hes f***ing awesome.
  10. Just for fun: What if we would have acquired Carl Crawford instead of Gavin and picked up Josh Hamilton? Dreams. Dreams. Dreams.
  11. "Where are you going to get a leadoff hitter who is better than what we have in house?" Williams asked Wednesday.
  12. Well, if there is such a thing as a season making moment, this could be it.
  13. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 07:37 PM) anyone know why Mark would want to pick up the ball AJ rolled back to the mound after the last out? Just curious, usually don' see that. HES CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I hope people can see why there is so much negativity on this board. We are soooo close to being a great team right now, but our offense is doing everything to prevent that from happening. Its just so frustrating watching this great pitching and then watching Erstad and Crede.
  15. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:08 AM) Hey, Nancy Negative called, she wants her gig back. I consider myself much more positive than most, but last night I reached a breaking point. I'm going to take a deep breath here, and start over.
  16. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) Look at it this way, without the pitching weve got so far, we'd be the Phillies right now. Not a good situation to be in only 2.5 weeks in. We all KNOW the hits will come, and when they do, this team is gonna be tough to beat. Maybe it will taker an old foe to get things rolling tonight, were going Millwood on that ass. Btw, completely random off topic, any promotions tonight?? Podsednik Operation Board Game Night? Just not true. When the hitting picks up, we will still not be as good as the Tigers or the Indians. Our offense cant keep up with the Tribe, and their starters are comparable, and the Tigers pitching is better, their offense is comparable, and they have a better manager.
  17. The Tigers offense has looked horrendous at times this year. Yet they are still finding ways to win games, even with Sean Casey in the lineup.
