  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) Rios is just as bad as dunn one K's and walks the other K's and pops out on the infield No way. Rios is hitting 50 points better than Dunn, and is playing great defense. He's also made adjustments to his swing (unlike Gordon), and at least projects to put together a replacement-level season if he continues to shake off his May.
  2. Diamondbacks announcers say Humber has the best curve they've seen all year.
  3. I've never understood why fans get so caught up in the personalities of their favorite players. So what if player A is a jerk, I'm rooting for him in the fantasy world of sports, I don't care if he tips poorly or yells at his kids too loudly. I don't want to be his friend. There are exceptions for felons, batterers, and maybe Pete Rose, and while Manny may have "cheated," if we've learned anything about PED's, it's that speculation is rampant, and countless others were using them, greenies, B12, or someting similar. I don't care if I'd like Manny as a person, I want him to hit, and I won't stop rooting for a sports team, because i don't like the personalities of the players on the team.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Wow, Rios with just a terrible effort there. He just isn't close to the same player he was during the first half. Everything pounded into the ground.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) not really impressive for a scoreless 3.2 IP ... biggest thing has been no walks, and our D hasn't helped him much, but hes gotten away with a bunch of hanging sliders....not many hard hit balls though among the bunch of hits Fine with me. Jackson will die with the walk. If he's getting the fastball over, we will always have a chance.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) Jeez, another hanger. Stop calling for it AJP! Exactly, this is on AJ. Fastball location has been great. No reason to let him hang these.
  7. While we all know Ozzie can use Omar incorrectly, he is still an incredible defender, and makes an A+ utility infielder.
  8. EPIC FAIL on the scouting report. Who throws Paulie a first pitch fastball?
  9. Better stuff and repertoire? Sergio Santos circa 2010 Bobby Jenks circa 2005
  10. The sad thing is, the odds are Vizquel will put better swings on the ball tonight than Beckham has recently.
  11. This team has potential. If Jones and Rios keep hitting, and Pierre, AJ, and Lexi improve to their standard, it will be an interesting year.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) Haha, he really does hate to walk. Not to open old wounds, but have you seen Pods's numbers so far?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) I love that we have two players in the lineup, Quentin and Beckham, that bring such an excitement to me in watching them bat. I agree, but I'm adding Pods and JD to that list.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:07 AM) or the fact that lefties are significantly better against Cahill than righties? Exactly. I love Brian Anderson as much as the next guy, but Cahill would have eaten him alive. I can see those low-and-away sliders, and the hitched swing-and-miss now.
  15. QUOTE (IamPabloOzuna @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) Are you F*cking kidding me? did you happen to miss last season? I stopped caring in July last year. This has been painful longer.
  16. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Great idea to bring in a guy with no control with the bases loaded. Now Ramirez is warming up. Ozzie is terrible at bullpen management. f*** that. THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO. THE WHOLE BULLPEN SUCKS. THERE ARE NO GOOD OPTIONS
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) No, he's burning pitches and allowing way too many baserunners. And the alternatives wouldn't?
