QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) 80 pct chance of audio problems today? So hows work? Sitting at home watching all these games sucks... Detroit off to a good start. Losing to the Jays 1-0 with man on 2nd, nobody out. Now down 2-0. nobody out. -
All Contract Talks Done Till After Season
jphat007 replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) This way if he does end up signing any of them it will be for more than they would have gotten with an in season contract extension, that's what tends to happen when you're bidding against other teams for the services of your former players. There's a reason why you get the exclusive negotiating window, I just wish KW would take advantage of it. They'll still have the 15 days after the season is over. Plus I would imagine there will still be some talking if the sides really want to do it. This is more for the players and the media, so if the media asks any questions everybody can just say, there are no contracts, remember what we said at the beginning of the season. [edit] I THINK [/edit]This is more of a media move than anything else QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) So in other words, you're saying that there is no financial benefit for the team to not negotiating during the season. You don't know. What if one of them falls apart during the season and totally sucks beyond comprehension. They would then get a lot less money in the offseason and you wouldn't necessarily be stuck with them if it did. I'm not saying that will happen to any of these guys, but that's a financial benefit -
Which Tribe players would actually start for us?

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 02:45 AM) Konerko > Blake Iguchi > Barfield Uribe > Peralta Martinez > AJ (real close) Crede >>> Marte Pods > Dellucci Grady >>> Erstad Thome (healthy) > Hafner C.C > Contreras Garland > Westbrook Buehrle >>> Lee (not even close Vazquez > Byrd Danks/Sowers=To be determined. I love Thome, but Hafner is much better than even a perfectly healthy Thome these days. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) I dont think anyone on this site, through all the negativity, ever said that the players dont like to play for him. They are routinely saying that he is great to them and is their best manager some of them have ever had. There are even players around the league that have commented on how they would like to play for him. Uh, I've seen quite a few people try to say that.

There is no way you can take Lee over Buerhle, just on one bad half season. You just can't do it. -

Wow. That was a solid turn by Pablo on the low shuffle. And he has a pretty good arm as well -

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 12:22 PM) Can't see the game....but I can already tell you it's going to get annoying when any ball Erstad doesn't catch turns into "Brian Anderson would have had that". Absolutely. Good to see that BA is hitting the ball better though. Hopefully that will continue into the regular season. -

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) misjudged by BA - that should've been an out ...and the extra out gives the braves a 2 run lead. I wonder where everybody is to not come and jump on BA for a misjudged ball? -
Matt was awesome tonight. Bobby was really good to. Mark as well. Good to see.
-
LOL. Good to see Uribe's head is in the game.
-
Bobby looks ready. Haha. Figures. Sorry Bobby.
-
wow. much more pessimistic than we thought.
-
Good outing for Mark heading into the season. Not perfect by any means, but much closer to his old self.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:46 PM) I thought a fan ran onto the field. At first I was like, WTF happened to JD? He got slower and fatter in 1 inning.
-
LOLOL. Who is that guy.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) How's Buehrle looked so far for those watching? Getting himself into a bit of trouble here though. STuff looks good. Location not sharp. Good in spots, bad in others. Needs to find that consistency for Wed.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:27 PM) I can't take off work on Monday. Too much vacation time having to be used for the wedding/honeymoon. That sucks. Will you have access at work?

LOL

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) Thats easy enough to mess with. Yah. SHouldn't be a huge problem I would think if you know what you are doing, and I assume you do. I've never needed to mess with it though as I'm out of blackout area.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) I just can't wait to download Mosaic. No work, no class I'm only concerning myself with baseball on Monday. The 700k should be ridiculous. Yah. Took off work myself. Will be cool to see how much they changed it. And the 700k is key for me cuase I run my desktop at 1920x1200 so in 95 it was small as hell. Tough to really see much in windowed mode. 06 was a little bit better, and this year should be even better.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) Okay MLB.tv question, how do they figure out the blackouts. Do they use your credit card billing address, or is it something setable. IP

That move is so awesome. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) I've never heard of a manager putting his slowest hitter 3rd, especially when he has 2 other outstanding hitters with similar skill sets hitting behind him. Hence why I'd rather have Dye at the plate than any other hitter in the lineup during a clutch at bat, he's an awesome situational hitter, he's probably the best pure hitter on the team. You ready for some badass quality on Monday for MLB.tv? I'm real excited about them steamin at 700k.
-
Well, they are hitting it pretty hard. Aww. They are laughing at poor McKay Christenson Man i love pablo

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) His control is even more important than the velocity he lost last year. Even at 87, if he gets the ball up and too much of the plate he will get hit hard. He's been able to paint for so many years, I just hope he can get back to that. When he's on a roll, its a 2 minute inning. Yep. Like SSI and I were talking about above, he needs to get that consistent control back. its there one minute, gone the next.
-
Good pitch. Hopefully he can take those one or two great abs, and one or two terrible abs location wise and get them down to solid location for pretty much every hitter.
