BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
jphat007 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hopefully this will be like the Buerhle incident 2 years ago with them getting a second opinion. I'm not sure we will be that lucky this time though. -
Toby Hall injured in the 9th Inning today...

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) Wait, wait, what happened? The evil Ozzie played Toby at first base to get him extra at bats, and in the middle of the play, he (being Ozzie) went out and tripped Toby and he injured his shoulder in the process. Typical Ozzie. After the game Toby said he never wanted to play first base in the first place and shouldn't have been out there (I think thats what he said anyway) -

That evil Ozzie. I think he did it on purpose. Sabotage even. -
71, MAYBE 72. If we are lucky

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) I'm actually expecting slightly less in regard to ERA. Perhaps 5.00-5.50 with a record around .500. Oh, and guess who he'll be pitching against his first start in the majors? Johan Freakin' Santana. Good luck, son. Better keep us in the game. Are you sure about that? Minnesota usually isn't a team to skip the 5th spot, especially that early.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) Annoyed that we couldn't even get some sort of mid level prospect for him. Considering the huge needs a lot of teams have bullpen help at the moment, and Tracey is someone who can potentially help a team's pen right now, we should have done better. But it's no suprise he's not here anymore, which is a bit sad when you thnk about it, just because of 1 thing he didn't do. I'm sure the fact that he was awful didn't have anything to do with it.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) A career .257/.312/.329 hitter. Why does this post not surprise me? hahaha. I'm surprised any response took that long. That was a softball up there for somebody to hit, but nobody would. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) Bloomquist played 48 games in CF last years, starting 35. He has seen his 3rd most innings in CF. Crede hits a ball to the LF fence. 1 out Wiki Gonzalez pops out to Burke. 2 outs. That would be awesome. Tough to say how well he's played out there though. But like I say, I doubt SEA would be dumb enough to trade him unfortunately -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) Thome 4 pitch walk. Iguchi to 2nd. Still 2 out. Konerko walks to load em up. Still 2 out. Dye up. Starting to rain again. Dye grounds out to Bloomquist. 3 stranded. Wiki Gonzalez in to catch. haeger still in. Reed pops out to Iguchi Bloomquist hits a lined shot to Konerko. 2 outs. I wonder what it would take to get willie to play CF. Can he play CF? I love Willie. I bet they wouldn't trade him though. -

Willie Bloomquist should play in every game against the Sox. And he should bat 3rd at that -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) Because its the textbook aim low frame of mind, then if the move works out, its that much better. Its alot harder to deal with the disappointment of something failing when you really had your hopes up that it would work out. Alot of this is evident in how jaded some people have become since last season when our hopes were so high, it made the failure that much worse. With the low expectations this year, if we finish in 3rd place it wont hurt as much. That's a very, very good point.

QUOTE(Beltin @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) Don't know if it matters, but I believe all 4 division opponents still train in Florida. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. The bottom 6 AL teams in spring training ERA all train in Arizona. The Top 8 all train in Florida. Coincidence?

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/press...sp&c_id=cws • INF Josh Fields, OF Jerry Owens, OF Ryan Sweeney and RHP Sean Tracey were optioned to Class AAA Charlotte; • LHP Gio Gonzalez, C Gustavo Molina and INF Robert Valido were reassigned to minor-league camp. With the moves, the White Sox have 33 players remaining in camp: 15 pitchers, three catchers, nine infielders and six outfielders.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) Tough game on Sunday....you think Singletary is back? The stuff in the bullpen might have improved, but you state Logan, Masset, and Haeger as a reason why it's improved. Those guys are far from proven, and it's just as likely that they're back in Charlotte after two weeks as it is that they're solid MLB relievers. He says he's coming back. But these days it's hard to tell if that holds up.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Meh, obviously that would be idiotic, but I'm sure there are some out there. The only reason I would really "root for Pods to fail" would be if I felt if he didn't produce, he would be replaced rather quickly, but we both know that won't be the case, so why fight it? Podsednik is going to be in LF, so lets pray he can produce, because we are going to need him. I just don't think he will. Oh yah. I'm not saying it's a great number of people. Probably only a couple here and there. But that isn't just about Pods necessarily. Just an attitude in general.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 05:10 PM) I would love, love, love to eat crow this season, you have no idea. While I can't stand to think of Pods getting starts in LF, that is going to be a fact, and I have to live with it. If I eat crow this season, it will be because Pods and Erstad are producing, and if that is the case, this team will probably be a force in the Central, and nothing could make me happier. And that's why I don't mind (not that it really matters either way) when you get on Pods case. I get the feeling that some people root for him to fail, just so they can be right, despite the fact that it could help the team. I don't even get a small hint of that from you.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Kendall grounds out to fields. Inning over. Poor Nightingale is not made for radio

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) His pure lack of baseball skills. He simply is not a good baseball player. He doesn't hit for power. He plays below average defense. He has trouble getting on base. The only way Scott Podsednik is effective is with his speed. He was a step slower in 2006, and is coming off groin surgery. Groin surgery with a speed player=Bad News. There really isn't much to like. ok. Just wondering. Disliking him because he isn't good is different than disliking him because he's an asshole, as an example.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 01:00 PM) Haha, sounds bad, but I understand where you're coming from. As it stands, I can't stand the situation going on right now with the OF and the top of the order. I just don't understand it. With that said, Podsednik and Erstad look to play a huge role in the success of the White Sox this year, and because of that, I have to root for both of them to do well. Podsednik is the only really White Sox I really dislike, but I still have to root for him because he can dictate the success or failures of this team. What has he done to make you dislike him? Or do you dislike his numbers.

QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:40 PM) I bet the gooch gets back to the 2-hole before the season starts. I'd be mad at KW if I were him cuz he's got more talent than that. He has wanted to hit lower in the order. Iguchi that is

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) Is that including Erstad's k today? And that's how you know Valido a rookie. Not sure. Doubtful
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Who leads the White Sox hitters in strikeouts this spring? Gonzalez (22) and Erstad (47) with 7. Gonzalez has quite a few less ABs. Uribe (34), Fields (25), Mack (33) and Terrerro (24) all have 6 with ABs in the 20s to 30s ABs in ()

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) Its funny you were posting before when someone was ripping into our pitchers ERAs that you cant judge anything based on stats for a pitcher because its Arizona, yet you are here using stats on how great our O is. If Arizona and its dry air and elevation affect our pitchers wouldnt it affect theirs as well. They don't have anything to do with how our team will perform once the season starts, as I've stated before both with pitchers and hitters. Just like Iguchi won't hit under .200 and Crede won't hit over .400. But you were trying to make it sound like we were sucking on offense, when that obviously isn't the case.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) Carasco shut down most of our starters on Saturday for like 1 hit over 5, and now this. Hopefully this isnt that crap in 05 when no one could hit for the first 2 months of the season. And 4th in OBP and 4th in AVG and 3rd in SLG

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 05:02 PM) 3 hits in 7 innings. LOL You do realize that we are second in the majors is runs scored during the spring correct?
