  1. Hey. Dye got our first hit last year too!!! It's a good omen!
  2. Both pitchers look nasty tonight. Might be another 1-0 game.
  3. Time to give CC his first loss at the Cell
  4. Did anybody mention that HE GAWN???? woohoo
  5. They should hurry up and start. The awful awful weather is coming fast.
  6. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) I have a couple of issues with this deal: 1. God bless Contreras for what he did for us down the stretch, and in the playoffs, last year, but remember that the guy has had one good HALF season in the majors. He was absolutely awful with the Yankees, and barely mediocre from mid '04 to mid '05 with the Sox. 2. Contreras is listed at 34 years old but we all know El Duque had himself 4 years younger than he really was. If that's the common practice with the Cubans, then Contreras is 38. We just locked him up till age 42. Yikes. 3. Buerhle is only 27 and has had 5 good seaons with the Sox (as opposed to one half). He is the true ace (and face) of this team. I realize we have him locked up for 2 years, but he'll still be only 29 at that point. Why not lock him up long term now, instead of committing all that money to Contreras? This is assuming, of course, that Kenny hasn't been trying to do this all along. I hope he has. I'm not trying to be negative, just looking at the devil's advocate side of things. Contreras was the man for us last year, but to me he hasn't proved enough to warrant this extension. Just my two cents. He had a good 03, a bad 04, and a good 05.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Who's in the pen today? I would imagine all scrubs.
  8. Well, the hitting certainly looks ready. Did I mention Ross Gload can rake?
  9. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) his spring last year he was unhittable. period. 25.0 29 17 17 6.12 ERA??? We are talking about Jon right?
  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) ... that sounds like a kid making a s***ty excuse for sucking this spring... He's only had one other bad start in the cactus league. I think he was better than his spring last year.
  11. Decent job getting out of trouble. Jon said he was going through a dead arm period. Not that surprising for this time o fyear.
  12. Love the deal. I think Contreras is going to dominate this year.
  13. 6-3 Sox going to the bttm of the 9th. Tracey on to pitch.
  14. Pablo with the base hit. 0 outs. He's on first. THOME WITH A BOMB> AMAZING!!!!! 5-3 Sox.
  15. Well, it looks like we are going to save our clutch hits for the real thing.........

  18. QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Who started for us tonight btw? Charlie Haeger. He did pretty good. Gave up 1 ER, 3 total. Hurt by a few errors.
  19. 2 runs on 11 hits. GOoch has 2, AJ has 2, Uribe has 3. 3rd game in a row for Boone which is a good sign I suppose. Boone went 1 IP with 2k and nada else against 3 Braves starters. Pods went 3-6, and looks to be ready to go for opening night.
