It is supposed to be showered/tstorms (scattered around) until late night, then it will turn to the heavier rain. They'll try to do whatever they can to get the game it. It would take a really hard rain storm in order to stop it. There should be enough pockets to get it in.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 02:01 AM) I just hope if he hits like .270 that people don't start dogging him and going into a panic... I was thinking .250 going in so .270 10-20 would be pretty sweet in my book.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) After last year, I can't blame them for being too cautious with them legs. Yep. Like I say, Keep him out for Sunday night and have him ready for Tuesday. Fine by me.

Yep. looks like Pods is staying back to get as many ABs as possible. Good that he sounds positive about it. He's so cautious about all of his injuries.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) No, but according to the first post, there is a time machine in Arizona. After all, how does playing in "a few minor league games" give Scott a few extra days? Keeping Scott out of big league game action allows them to put him on the DL retroactive to the last game he pitched in a big league game. Since you have to be on the DL for 15 days, holding him out of big league games will allow them to be on the DL for only a week or so, effectively. Eh. That would still be the middle of the second week. Everything that I have read, could be something I missed obviously, said that it would only be a day or two of the regular season at most. And that was being really conservative. Additionally, if they let him play in the minor league games, why wouldn't they come let him play in the big league games? Oh well. We'll see on Sunday.
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) If this is indeed the case, this is the precursor to him being retroactively added to the DL. DId I miss something? Was there another update?

QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) According to the score, Pods will not make the trip to Atlanta and will stay back to play in some minor league games. He may not play Sunday since we are facing Sabathia and it would give him a couple extra days to get ready for Tuesday. Good idea. Let him play in the minor league games to get his "game" requirements in for Ozzie and if he is ready to go on Sunday, that's fine, and if not he can play Tuesday.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) Good god! Can we just skip the next two games in Atlanta and start the f***ing season already? I am so sick of spring training! Can't wait. Gonna be a lot of fun Here's to hoping we don't see too much whining the first week!! -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) Spring Training results matter when a guy who usually throws 99 MPH is only touching 96 and hasn't been finding the strike zone up until today. Give it a rest. LOL. He said it would build and build. ANd it has done that. It does this every spring. But why listen to him? He doesn't know what he's talking about. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) I never went crazy about it. I was just asking questions about his velocity. Are you a homer? Why do you care? No, I'm a White Sox fan. Just wouldn't want anyone to think that you were an Indians fan. I mean if somebody read most of your posts and saw your sig that's probably what they would think. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Then maybe we should allow Bobby to pitch in the regular season before we start going crazy about a blown save, no? Oh no no no. Spring results only matter when they help his argument. lol -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Nope, but when he does it in the regular season you can call me out. Are you a closet Indians fan? Is that why you have them in your sig? -

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) And the little history that we have on Bobby has shown that if his velocity is up there and he's throwing strikes, he's should have success. Yes, he blew the save. Whatever. I can deal with a blown save like this. Its when he's walking batters and basically giving them baserunners that bothers me. As long as he's showing improvement and that he's close to returning to form. It appears that he's doing that. Exactly. And we know he isn't all the way there yet. But he's getting there. That's all that matters. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Did he only hit 96 once? Also, he gave up a hit to the one and only major leaguer (Matt Holliday) he faced. At least a couple of times that I saw. He might not be all the way there yet but he is improving every time. That's what matter. We know that if he throws strikes and has his velocity, he can pitch well in the most pressure of situations. BTW, did you see Thornton's outing todya? -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) What? He just blew the save against back-ups for one of the worst teams in baseball. The people he fanned were scrubs as well LOL. And? He threw Ks with better velocity, and located his curve and slider well for the most part. He has improved every outing. That's all that matters -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) His outing was good then. He was throwing strikes getting his slider and curve over. Valido wont be in the field during the season anyways. OH yah. Probably his best outing. Throwing Ks with velocity. It kept going up each outing, just like he said it would. -

Carroll K's Smith gets jammed and grounds out to second. Double by Helton. He's very good. Broken bat fly to left. Jose looks good and ready to go.
