Hahahaha. I love me some Juan Pierre.
-
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Yep, looks like Widger was batting .182 in 78 ABs before we let him go in '06. Poor Widge. He did have that big 3 run HR off whats his name in 05 in LAA. And a 2 run bomb against Zito as well. Wait was it Zito? Good times.
-
I've got a good feeling about this inning
-
Haha. Hawk: "Bottom of the 8th, Not good" That pretty much sums it up.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) How can Ozzie continue to justify playing Pierre? Because KW gave up 2 players and is paying him 9 million f***ing dollars.
-
I'm glad that we have Juan Pierre on this team.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) The guy gave up 5 runs right off the bat. No, he gets no credit. But look at all these strikeouts!!!!
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) I can't believe there were people actually liking the Pierre acquisition when it happened. Pods gets hurt too much.
-
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) Any Pods hater wanna keep defending Pierre with the "Pods is more injury prone, we will see at the end of the year" argument? I would take what Pods has done so far this year, and if he got injured on the next play of the game it would have been better than watching Pierre play the rest of this season... I hope so. They are fun to read.

Good choice on the leadoff man KW. f***ing awful.

hahahahhahahahha

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) I am glad you are the official bean counter for the club. I could care less if they spend 12 million on a guy who plays well, over having a cheap stroke running out in CF or a guy who projects as a bench guy doing the same thing. I don't care how much they spend unless it interferes with getting good players that we need on this team. In this offseason it obviously had that affect. If we were spending 200 million a year I wouldn't care about the salary.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Nice to see you found another whipping boy now that Rios is hitting. Just one? I have like 8 this year. They all suck. And while Rios is a really solid player while hitting like this (and I'm serious there), it's not like he's got a 950+ OPS for his 12 mil.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) If he gets through this game without allowing anymore runs, I think it's a decent sign that he's not hurt. I think that's what we're all afraid of, him being hurt. Two HBPs by Harden now. Score some damn runs, PLEASE! f*** that. He better be hurt if he's this bad. If he's hurt they can fix him. Otherwise he just sucks.
-
QUOTE (jimmiething @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) so quick question: why is juan pierre trying to steal down five with a pitcher struggling to throw strikes? I know our offense sucks but getting one run really doesn't do much for us there. Cash Money man.
-
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) I think Peavy is on a roll now. If the bats can wake up and score 6 runs tonight, I think we win. LOLOLOLOL
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:45 PM) This team is making the 2007 team seem exciting. At least that team was still around on June 1. This team was done at the beginning of April. It's going to be a long summer until football.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) So would you trade Peavy for Zambrano now? I'd trade him for nothing, literally nothing if it meant getting out from under that Salary. Nobody would be dumb enough to take him though.
-
That Maggs guy is pretty awesome. Detroit ain't beatin Minny this year, but at least they'll be fun to watch for Tigers fans.
-
QUOTE (almagest @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) Here's a bright spot -- Teahen with .292 avg and .404 obp. It'd be nice to see this from him the next couple years. It's not going to matter with all of our money tied up.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) The thing is, Peavy's current "stuff" just isn't good enough to consistently get hitters out. There's absolutely no bite on his slider, and his fastball is average. When you add in the bad location and the pathetic change-up, there's not really much hope for an immediate rebound. Hey it's just a rough patch. Just give him some time. Probably sometime in 2012
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) can we please stop using the "F" in between Peavys initials How about JPOSP
-
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) Mark's ERA = 4.68 Peavy's ERA = 7.66 (before tonight) Yah, seriously. We gave up Richard and 16 f***ing million bucks a year for this s***. I can't believe we're on the hook for 60 mil. I hope that doesn't cripple us the next few years.
-
i mean, I'm so mad that I cant find the joke to talk about how awful Jake Peavy is.
-
Well, the good news is the Twins are so good that we won't have to be disappointed for long. They are going to stomp a mud hole in this division early. They already have to be honest.
