GT: White Sox @ Indians, 4/18, 12:05, CSN

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) I know you hate Rios, but are you seriously writing off Peavy, right now? Not to mention hiring Buddy Bell to dramatically improve our minor league system? I think I'd rather have Richard, Poreda and 16 million back to plug up the tons of holes that we have on this team, yes. If we are paying Peavy 16 million f***ing dollars a year he better put up a sub 3 ERA. PS, I think I'd love RIos if he wasn't if he was making about 6-7 million less. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) Peavy, Rios, Flowers, hiring Buddy Bell, Drafting Danksy 2, Hudson and Beckham (with Laumann). Not that terrible. Wait, which of those things is really good? Beckham and Hudson? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) Just like with Teahen, we just have to hope they turn it around. Well they can be above average and that's still too much money to have wrapped up in 2 players. We are going to have to make some major adjustments. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) Haha, yeah right....the Sox are stuck with those awful contracts. That's the scary thing. How are we going to get better when we have 30 million dollars wrapped up in 2 average players. I hope to hell somebody is willing to take those contracts. It's the only hope we have over the next few seasons. -

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) HAHA at whoever was at second base. They immediate rose their hands in the air. The Indians are excited. They've beat us 5 out of 6 times. That must mean they are a good team. What? They only have 6 total wins? Nevermind. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Wow, I've never heard Hawk sound like this. 12 games in, and the season feels like it's gotten away from us. That's because it is. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 01:15 AM) He also got picked off yesterday..... on first base. What new.. At least he was on base to get picked off.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) My faith in Kenny going out to get a bat remains. We need a lot more than one bat to be on the twins level. A lot

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) Like I said.. even a tired Thornton yes I'd take my chances (our bullpen is very good) but you can't leave Peavy whose pitch count wasn't that extended yet this year, pitch in the 8th and a TIE GAME. He's struggled in his previous 2 starts. He gave us 7 IP of 1 run ball. Give him a pat on the back and turn it over to the best bullpen in the game for the later innings. Offense deserves alot of blame too, but the managing decision(s) is what lost us this game today. That's fine. I'm cool with blaming today on Ozzie too. Ozzie, KW, the offense, Thornton. All of em. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) No.. it's on Ozzie. I would feel better if it was on the guys who hit the ball, instead of leaving Peavy in 100+ pitches in to start the 8th in a tie game and Thornton who pitched yesterday in a meaningless garbage time pitching 10 games already in the first two weeks of the season. The problem is much much bigger than this game. Our offense sucks. We're not going to win the division with this offense. You can't score 4 f***ing runs in 2 days against this pitching staff. Besides, whose to say Thornton wouldn't have come in an f***ed it up like he did anyway. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) I hate when announcers start stating how amazing our bullpen is. Our bullpen has been dominant in non pressure situations. So we've got that going for us. -

Matt Thornton has given up the lead from tie games twice this year already. That is bad news. -

CQ has had like 2 good games and 10 s***ty ones this year. That's not going to work from your 3 hole hitter. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) You could argue the Sox had just as much talent as the Twins every year since our rivalry with them started during the 21st century. This year, it's not even comparable. Yeah, that is a good way to put it. Every other year I feel we have had a team that could at least compete with the best other team in the division, even in 06. This year just feels like we are a minor league team compared with the Twins. And I think the thing that really has me worried is that it is going to be hard to change it for the next couple years.

I dont' think leadoff hitters are allowed to drive in runs. -
Pods on base 3 times today, including a two out hit with RISP. Who knew? Leadoff hitters can drive in some runs!

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Starting to look like the kind of team that gets a manger fired . . . It should get the GM fired too. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 03:12 PM) Besides (and don't take this personally) acting like a b****, what are you really accomplishing? You've made it PAINFULLY obvious EVERY day what you think of the situation in the central. You've given the Twins the division less than 15 games into the season. We suck. They rule. We blow. They're great. f*** KW. f*** Ozzie. Pods >>>>>>>> Pierre. Twins='27 Yankees. Sox='03 Tigers. WE GET IT! You've done a good job summing up how I feel. I guess you are right that it does no good to keep saying it over and over. A summer with no meaningful baseball to watch just makes me really angry I guess.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) How many different ways are you going to say the same f***ing thing? How dare that I be pissed off that the Twins created a team much better than us while we wasted our money away this offseason and last year. I can't see any reason to be upset at the fact that the Twins are significantly better than us. YOu are right, I apologize.
-
Another day, another save for Jon Rauch. Twins are going to destroy this division.
-
It's amazing how much better the twins are than us for about hte same money spent. We have too much money locked up.
