4/16 GT: Sox @ Indians, Buehrle v. Talbot

haha, that's when you know your lineup is awful. A hitter with a .505 OPS is getting moved UP in the lineup. -

If we aren't careful we're going to end up 7-8 games back pretty quickly. It may be early, but that's pretty tough to come back from. -

QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) I think we just lowered Mitch Talbot's ERA 2 points. LOL. His ERA was like 7 coming into this game. Texas pounded his s*** in. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) lmao. You're to Alex Rios what Glenn Close was to Michael Douglas. I guess we'll see won't we. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) I see nothing from this lineup that suggest we're not on pace to meet an offensive production that is similiar or worse then last year's. That being said i am not ready to abandon these guys. KW will doing something, it's nigh inevitable. This team needs to focus on keeping pace with the Twins, until a move can be made. There is a very very real possibility that we are 6 GB after this weekend. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) if this was our line-up instead, would we be better? 1 podsednik 2 felipe lopez 3 quentin 4 thome 5 konerko 6 beckham 7 pierzynski 8 rios 9 ramirez Just reading that is depressing. That was easily achieveable too. That's the s***ty thing. Glad we are paying 11 million to a guy thats going to put up a 700 OPS -

Having a bad offense sucks so bad. At least when you crush the ball you feel like you can outscore the opponent. This is no fun to watch at all. -

The Indians have won 3 of their first 10 games. 2 against us. Likely 3. We are losing to a terrible terrible team. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) Nothing wrong with being a realist. Maybe I just like balance. Try counting your negative posts in a loss and your positive posts in a win. I'm just saying if you like the Sox most of the time I don't see it. fathom's a lot more positive than he used to be. This offense could be 07 bad if not worse. That's a lot to be negative about. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) At least we bunted that guy over. We sure as hell aren't going to hit them in, so we were hoping a f***ing fly ball could get him in. I guess that's too much to expect out of this team. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) It's absurd you can be so pessimistic this early in the season . Most of the time you don't even sound like a Sox fan. I don't think most of the pessimism comes from the start. It comes from an offseason of terrible moves. Oh, and 2 moves at midseason last year that have not gotten off to a good start. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) i doubt those 3 r going to keeps batting in the .100's and very low .200's. its like we talked about yesterday, the sox just dont seem to have a sense of urgency at all. meaning i know they want to win badly but it just doesnt look like theyre giving their full effort None of that matters if we are 10 GB at the end of April. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) How absurd. Why is that absurd? I think Gonzalez is good, but he's not going to make up for a lineup of below average hitters. -

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) and we are tied...whenever the offense feels like waking up today, ill be happy They aren't just going to magically wake up and start playing well. We're a bad offense and a bad team. These guys aren't going to magically turn into better players. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) They might very will finish in last place. But as of April 15th, they're playing some good baseball. Cause they've played some pretty piss poor team. They look pretty terrible to me. I doubt the Twins, Yanks and Bosox have much trouble with them.
