similar situation at American University..... we don't have FX. not fun at all.
-
i don't know about you guys, but during the games i'm a nervous wreck, and for no reason i have to do little things or the sox don't win. i've been wearing the same unwashed clothes (only during the games), sitting in the same spot and putting my shoes in the same place. yeah, i'm crazy, but i assume some of you have similar habits. so, what are your crazy habits? or just tell me if i'm the only one....

berman: "when you're hot you're hot" implying the white sox were somehow lucky on that play.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Harold Reynolds has some massive connections in baseball. His brother is a big time agent, and I think Reynolds would have a pretty good feel for what's going on. last year, harold reynolds told us with near certainty that we would acquire carlos beltran.

you can attach all of the cute little "this thread sucks" pics you want, but i'm not impressed looking at those lists that a few of you posted that were actually able to answer a question that i posed.
-
i'm not trying to be negative or anything, but i haven't been able to see too many games this year. the point is, i haven't seen us beat any good pitchers. the only time i can remember us getting more than 2 or 3 runs off of a good pitcher is against maddux in the first cubs series. so... who have we beaten?

yeah, they had some trouble saying it. but then i tried to say it myself, and it's pretty rough... soxtalk.com... yes!

White Sox vs Dodgers 6/19/05 Game Thread

ha, he just said that if there was a car wreck, cub fans would buy tickets. -
i agree. and if buehrle must pitch more, i'd have him swinging after a strike. a ground ball double play still means a run is scored.
-
sure it is. he had a save opportunity, and he blew it. that means it was his fault. he couldn't do his job.
-
I hope the colorado series sparked something

yeah, good to see, but SD won't be easy. -
i remember his numbers were just sick a week or 2 ago. are they still that good? if so, i would think there would be a chance.

to keep their arms warm and therefore loose.

i think the one the most people had problems with was podsednik, but that was my favorite from the beinning, except maybe for the signing of el duque. all in all, good moves

i didn't see this posted elsewhere. at least we made #1 in some sort of rankings...... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ...blog/index.html

hawk just mentioned my hometown, pasco, WA -
i don't get the sox around here in Jacksonville. also, they usually are good games, and my roommates are all cards fans. it looked like nomar pulled something while swinging or starting to run, you couldn't tell. he was definitely in pain though.
-
nomar just went down with what looked like a groin pull in the cubs/cards game.....

the occasional big fly, successful sacrifices, timely hits, stolen bases, solid fielding, amazing starting pitching, solid bullpen, veterans and young talent, decent depth. by no means are we the best, or in my opinion near the best at any aspect of the game. but we're more balanced than about any team you can think of. or that i can think of at least.
-
ouch man. why'd you have to ruin that for me??
-
i don't know about the opinions of the rest of you guys, but i think modern nicknames suck ass. it seems like the majority of them are either the first letter of the first name, plus the first 3 letters of the last name; or are just the name with a "y" at the end. a-rod, a-row, s-pod, paulie, booney, etc. many teams don't even have real nicknames. the cardinals and cubs for instance. one name that is very cool is El Duque, but that's about it for cool names that i can think of. what happened to "the Deacon," or "Black Jack," or "Paco Martin," "Batman," "Rock Raines" "One Dog" "Officer Karkovice." maybe it's just me, but nicknames nowadays are weak.

yeah, he's always been a favorite of mine. but when i was a little kid it was simply because we have the same name

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) You are acting like ' this guy'' is pokey reese. no, not at all. i realize that castillo is one of the premier second basemen in the league for the role that he plays. i was suggesting that there's no chance of getting castillo. and if we did get him, but had to trade marte to do it, i wouldn't be happy. i think that marte is more valuable to the team that castillo would be. but that's just my humble opinion.
