  1. Ken Rosenthal was discussing why Podsednik should be at the All-Star Game. Now that winning the game actually means something and it is being played at the cavernous Comerica, he said that Podsednik would be the ideal player for the A.L. to have on their squad. Since it may not be a homer-fest this year, Podsednik can get on base, steal, and produce runs.
  2. Buehrle. He keeps us in just about every game that he pitches. He should have about 13 wins.
  3. Just throw strikes, Contreras. These guys don't hit very many homers.
  4. Yep, all 3 should be in. But will they? Who knows? A.L. ERA Leaders: 1. Roy Halladay (2.40) 2. Mark Buehrle (2.42) 3. Kenny Rogers (2.46) 4. Bartolo Colon (3.02) 5. Jarrod Washburn (3.21) 6. Jon Garland (3.25) 7. Freddy Garcia (3.29) 8. Matt Clement (3.33) 8. Chris Young (3.33) 10. Jason Johnson (3.39) Damn, imagine if Clement would have signed here. Our rotation would be sicker than it already is.
  5. Contreras against a team that takes walks. Brutal.
  6. Where did you hear this? EDIT: Here it is... http://www.latimes.com/sports/baseball/mlb...ack=1&cset=true
  7. True, we knew they would hit homers. But it's disappointing when they get no hit for inning after inning instead of manufacturing runs like they did earlier in the season.
  8. It would be sweet if he could play both 2B and SS at the major league level.
  9. It seems like they were manufacturing a lot more runs earlier in the season. Now it seems like they are just winning with homeruns. But you are right. We aren't really a smallball team. Frank, Konerko, Dye, Crede, Uribe, AJ, and Everett all swing for the fences.
  10. Winning with great pitching, great defense, and homeruns.
  11. I-Rod's 2003 playoff stats: 21 for 67 (.313 AVG) 3 HR 17 RBI 9 BB 12 K He was clutch when it mattered most. That's one of the reasons he has a ring.

True. I just thought it was hilarious when someone suggested not resigning Konerko and having Daigle replace him next season. Now, I have no problem with not resigning Konerko but come on...
  13. One K doesn't make I-Rod suck. I-Rod is better than AJ, period. He hits for a much higher AVG and he is a much better defensive catcher. His arm makes AJ's look like a 10 year old's. AJ gets to hit at the Cell while I-Rod has to hit at the cavernous Comerica. I-Rod would probably have 10+ homers if he played for us. I like AJ and he is light years better than Olivo but I-Rod is better. Just think about how much of an Ozzie-type player I-Rod is. He can hit, run (even steal a few bases), and play great defense. I know it's fun being a homer but come on...

That's what happens when you go from A pitching to AAA pitching. And some people thought he was a stud because he could hit A pitching at the age of 25. :headshake
  15. No offence, but I hope it's true. The rumor is that the Twins would have to give up a good prospect so the Mariners would pick up most of Boone's contract. Boone is off the steroids and he sucks ass now.
  16. All these guys do is make excuses... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=250630106&prov=ap
  17. ^^ Bingo. They have a power-hitting lineup that swings for the fences even though they play in a massive pitcher's park. Not a good combination. Even Dmitri Young's sorry ass finally said that he may have to change his approach of swinging for the fences when they are at home.
  18. 27 and he was supposed to be a stud prospect when the Braves signed him at age 16 or something. He never panned out and then spent like 11 years in the minors and finally started hitting.
  19. Getz was my favorite pick in the draft.
