I feel like all of the engagement bots on X and tiktok copped their style from Bob Nightengale. Truly not just a terrible person but also the worst of the national writers at writing.

Power is hard to get. We have very little home run power in our org. Not that concerned about re-signing a RH bat only guy in 4 years. For trading Robert, who apparently we would decline an option on, being able to acquire plausible power for the corners where we are shockingly decrepit at providing, I think it's a good bet.

The Sox would benefit so much from a standard floor/ceiling that didn’t compensate by handing free draft picks and other team building gimmies to small market teams I just don’t know how Sox fans could be against it.

On board with this. Fine with spending $20 mil just to have Robert play cf next year.

Feels like for last decade, definitely highlighted by Fulmer, the sox have been keen on 'black swan' nee black sheep prospects that don't look like your traditional guys but just work and have struck out every time. Hope that trading for a top return of an 88 mph throwing prospect was kinda the end of that thought process.

I don't want to be a downer on a fun thing but I just am not that excited to get back the kinds of players we'll get back for our trade chips. A whole lotta tito polos I feel like.

Definitely the most painful part about that offseason though is it was a terrible time to trade Cease (there was a ton of top pitchers being dangled, esp. by milwaukee) but a great time to trade Robert (teams were starved for some top impact bats).

I’ll admit I wouldn’t have drafted Kurtz but I would say if I was gonna draft a first baseman top 10 I’d like them to be left handed and 6’4 + not right handed, 6’0” and bald.

It’s worse just because what was around. And last year felt like a bad draft because of the weirdness of the profiles.

So roughly a year after the 2024 draft we have: - the pick before the white Sox hitting a 6-6 4 HR game in the majors and dominating (Kurtz) - the pick after the white Sox having already made his major league debut (albeit scuffling) - the pick after that with a 1.300 OPS in AAA already - Konnor Griffin is the second overall prospect in baseball after an insane half year - 14th overall pick Cam Smith already with 2 WAR and positive offense in the majors Meanwhile our fast moving pitching prospect is unlikely to match his pitching load from last year and had a second TJS scare. Funny that the two most hapless orgs (us and rox) who desperately needed mlb offensive help were dropped into one of the best immediate impact drafts I can remember and got two slow starters (Condon injured)
