It is going to be interesting. I think George's confidence is shot now. The Bears were so close to so many franchise altering moments. Choosing Arians in 2013 instead of Trestman. Ballard instead of Pace. Mahomes, etc. Some of these were trying to branch out instead of the obvious choice. Some it was taking the obvious choice (Fox) and it still not working out. I still find myself thinking about that Kevin Clark article. I obviously like Mike Tomlin a lot. I like Kevin Colbert a lot. I like Omar Khan. But in Pittsburgh, in places like Ohio State, in Green Bay, these aren't places where if one cog fails the ship goes under. If we take Mike Tomlin as our coach, we aren't the Steelers model of consistency. George is probably now going to get some big, obvious choice. And I will be excited by many. Loved the Trace Armstrong chatter, even though I don't know about Ryan Day. Love the idea of Harbaugh/Ireland. But all of these will be recreating GM runs scout staff, coach staff reports to GM, etc models that will have the bears relying that two single people get it right. That's why I kinda like the Trace Armstrong rumor the most, with the idea that he has outside experience to think about how to run this. I am not a ivy-league-oogler but I also find Kwesi Adofo-Mensah an interesting candidate as a VP/head role.

Eh, more likely JR scenario is that Angelo is still President or something. I would rather JR be Bears owner than the McCaskeys, easily. I think he is a better owner in a salary cap format. The bulls have underachieved given the advantages Jordan gave them, but nowhere near the underachievement of the Bears franchise the last 30 years.

When LA Chargers give Telesco a third coach, they just watched a season with one of the best rookie QB campaigns ever and a loaded offensive roster with some clear areas of upgrade. When the Bears would give Pace a 3rd coach, the team is old, expensive, without draft picks, and have an exciting QB who put up a pretty bad season. Just didn't make sense but being an insider can be a double edged sword.

I think some media was way too in love with what they could hear from their team sources on what they thought would happen when when you stepped back the situation was far too untenable for Pace to stay and this was a very, very likely scenario and what they were hearing was very, very unlikely.

The problem is he got his front office fired to take over so you wouldn’t know what kind of situation you are getting even if he was just HC.

I love Zach and think a lot of stuff was unfounded, especially some of the defense when he had to carry the entire offense and that he was surrounded with absolute morons basketball wise. That said, when DDR is out this team looks normal. Zach is super efficient but at same time he’s sort of in game streaky, he doesn’t press if it’s not there. That’s great. But the bulls as long as they have had DDR have looked great. There is something to the superstar “eff you O can play my game no matter what” that I think is just a bit outside of.

Paddy's work is by far the most complicated for me. I find it both incredibly productive and needlessly limited. The man brings in some of the biggest stars in the game in tatis, robert and abreu, has found some nice prospects when he had no money periods in Jose Rodriguez... and routinely punts on so much money. Not sure if it's him, but crazy that he doesn't want a more aggressive backing.
