QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) i've wondered about that too i saw some thing on the history channel about the moon landing... there was some compelling evidence as to never landing on the moon. i'm not saying we didn't land on the moon, just sayin we might not have mr_genius = crazier than carl I also seen something similar, but that was after I started to believe that we didn't go there. If we did, then we did.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I don't particularly want to turn this into a lunar conspiracy thread, but can you give me a specific reason why you believe that? That's the thing, I can't. I just never believed that we went to the moon because it just looked so fake.

If they thought that he gave the sandpaper to Kenneddy, why didn't they just search Kenneddy for it? -

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Yeah, I remember it. I also liked the previous mission when they just orbited the moon and came back. I don't mean to sound like Crazy Carl at all, but did it look like they actually went to the moon. For some reason I just don't believe that we ever went to the moon. I don't know why I think that, I just do.

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) I would think accidents like this happen on a carrier, but it's probably rare. Getting hit by a landing plane at an airport would be very dumb. Not even very dumb, Extremely dumb.

Did anybody in here watch the first time the US went to the moon with Buzz Aldrin?

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Agreed, but the existence of dinosaurs is not only a scientific fact; it's a fact. Scientific knowledge changes when new information is found, or when accepted theories are shown to be innacurate. Saying that dinosaurs are a conspiracy is no different than saying the sky is a giant movie screen, and the moon is a trick perpetrated by hollywood. Such claims exhibit a complete lack of understanding of science. The earth does revolve around the sun. This will never be disproven because it is fact. The reason people once believed otherwise had nothing to do with science. It was science that disproved that belief. Gravity exists. The theories which explain its existence are incomplete, ever changing, and we may never fully understand how it works. That doesn't mean gravity is caused by angels. Facts are facts. Facts do not change. Scientific theories change, but the facts remain. Carl can believe whatever he wants, but I stand by my statement that it's naive/ignorant to claim entire scientific fields are fraudulent. Your exactly right.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) snakes are swinging the bats -- Sox have to keep pace. Garland just needs to keep the Sox in it, cause they're going to keep hitting. It's the bats that I'm worried about. I think Frank's gonna rip tonight, get something going. Welcome To Soxtalk! -
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) lol there's only one thing I can think of that'd be dumber, gettin hit by a landing airplane. Has that happened?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) There is a story/ledgend about how that famous shot of Fisk waving at the ball happened. Supposedly, the guy working the camera had been told to cut to something else, but was distracted by a rat running at his feet. Consequently, the camera didn't move and was locked on Fisk the whole time. So, one of the best sports TV shots supposedly happened by pure accident. I seem to rememeber that the camera moves with Fisk as he hops down the line. Then again everything surroundiong Fenway is a great story or tale. The guy who gave us the tour of Fenway told us that tale, maybe I have the details wrong. Anyone else heard this? I never heard that. That is really interesting. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) BTW -- Castilla is down to a .754 OPS, compared to Crede's .720. You're telling me that we should give up a guy like Sean Tracey for .034 percentage points of offense? Really? I'm not seeing it... In that case we shouldn't. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) I bring this out sparingly, but its definitly deserving: Dear sox-r-us, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. signed, redandwhite Wasn't that in Billy Madison? -

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) If Neifi continues to do well, the Cubs might trade Nomar since they rather improve elsewhere and Nomar is signed only through end of this year anyways. I am suggesting I rather help the Cubs and get a stud SS back (who when healthy would be awesome for this lineup) than help another AL contender by getting their one year fluke 3B Who would take him, he's hurt. -

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Are you suggesting the Sox try and acquire Nomar, or is there a Nomar clone out there that I am not aware of? Injuries aside, acquiring a SS like Nomar is damn near impossible without giving up the farm. When he is healthy(which isnt very often) there arent many better hitters in the league. Just a replacement for Crede.
