QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Oooh, your cool! You are putting nothing on the line. Wow, your internet account on a message board....GMAB. Oh, you're way cool too. Everyone has choke avys , so of course, you just had to also. -
welcome

Its not funny to joke about the sox purposely losing. Considering their bad history with that...... :banghead

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Another thing I found funny was, before the season I was reading a scouting report on Mike Brown that's found on TSN.ca: I laughed my ass off when I read this, they say Mike Brown is not a hitter and not intimidating yet that's exactly what he is. He proved that yesterday by nearly killing Marcus Pollard and then laying out Harrington on a blitz. Maybe I shouldn't go to a Canadian website for NFL coverage. The NFL is too fast for them to scout. They should stick to the slow CFL and Henry Burris.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) Pollard is 6'4" Brown is 5'10" He hit him at the normal angle a player who is 1/2 foot shorter is going to hit a player at. The flags were thrown because it looked like Pollard was killed on the play by the way he went down. Brown even put his hands out in front of him when he hit him trying to take away from the brunt of the hit. I'm not really sure how else he could have tackled him considering the size difference and the speed that he was going at Pollard. I've watched the play close to 30 times (Tivo...yes!!) and I gotta say, I don't know what he could have done differently. Good point with the angles, Watching Brown for the last 7-8 years in college and Pros I have seen nothing that would ever warrent him as a player who looks to make dirty plays.

I think Joe Buck was over-reactory in yesterday's game during the hit. Joey Harrington completely led Pollard into getting smashed. Mike Brown, IMO, was just standing his ground. I think it may have not been clean, but, it was not intentional. Thoughts? edit: here is a link for those who did not get a chance to catch it http://66.225.214.121/images/bears/brown_pollard.wmv

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) This is why I said you shouldn't talk about the Bears, stick to the Cowboys and just forget the Bears exist. You're absolute bias toward the boys and against the Bears makes it impossible for you to make a logical prediction involving the Bears. what a f***ing game! Us , Bear fans, were f***ing excited about this D for a reason!

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) All season, Sox fans (myself included) were upset by the lack of respect the Sox were given by the national media. The "experts" at ESPN would say that the Sox weren't as good as their record would indicate. Inevitably a thread would start here telling the "experts" to f-off. Maybe they were right all along. I still like the Sox team. I think they'll make the playoffs and because they have talented pitchers, they have a chance to win it all. However, their everyday lineup lacks an impact offensive threat. I'm not talking statistically (PK has HR numbers, Pods has SBs), but I'm saying there is nobody that an opposing team really has to be careful with. Unfortunately, they didn't make a move for a guy like Griffey when they had a chance at the deadline. For what KWilliams was being asked to give up to get Griffey, Burnett, et al, I'm glad he didn't make the move. I felt that way at the time, and I don't think it's fair to hold him responsible now that the Sox have begun to slide. The "experts" also had us ranked 20th in the pre-season power polls

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) "Hey, you remember the other day when I asked you what the definition of Irony was and you said....AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH" The ironic thing is, he is a crede fan who defended 3 years of s***ty play from crede . When, in fact, he gives up on a team who has had 2 bad months.

I might as well post now, because I will be at the game 2mrrws f***ing pumped!

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) I'm still not very appreciative of the way our team is playing during the most important stretch run of the season. I mean Jose stepped it up HUGE, but we won thanks to a Twins error. My frustrations with this team's passion is being displayed through my avatar, but if it makes you very angry I'll remove it. Removing it is your personal choice. We both share the same frustrations of the 05 sox and react in different ways. You dont have to remove it, but, I dont have to bashing those who have them.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) When Marte throws strikes between 93 to 95 mph...he is virtually unhittable. He threw strikes, with the fastball, 93 to 95. He keeps doing that...and our bullpen will suddenly resume being unbeatable. Especially with that guy behind him hitting 100 tonight. You think Bobby was pumped up? 99, 100, 99. The pen was a beaurtiful thing to watch today!

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Here I am! took you a while. let's just say you guys aren't quick to come around when we win. Yet, if we were to have lost you guys would have made 3-4 negative threads by now.

Funny, all the posters with choking avis have not posted in the game winning thread yet.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) Being 3.5 up instead of 2.5 up is HUGE mentally for the Sox this series. Especially winning those two close games late. you f***en said it.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) EAT s*** TRIBE AND YOUR FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! add ALL sox bashers to that Eat s*** list! Even those who claim to be sox fans that bash the sox every day !

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) This is going to be a really s***ty series for Sox fans. dont worry you guys have been coming on strong but, I still belive in my team. Go back on your indians borad .

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) I think you're all missing a huge aspect. This team is not the same team they were at the beginning of the year. They're different teams, and this one sucks. They don't thrive off of being doubted, they fold and agree with the doubt. This team is just another piece of s*** White Sox team that we've become accustomed to. Maybe we need Herbart Perry back

QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) I thought it was pretty funny. It's to be expected from Indian fans . However I do not find our fans with the choking and hangman noose avatars to be funny at all. I know there's a lot of tense people here and others ready to bust out the "I told u so's" but relax and enjoy the ride. If we crash and burn at the end so be it, but it's been one helluva ride so far and it ain't over till it's over. It took one guy to come with the idea. The rest of the are just followers.

QUOTE(TribeRules @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) Don't know why this guy was banned. You can't tell him apart from half the "sox fans" on this board.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Last 4 ABs: AB1: Struck out AB2: Struck out AB3: Struck out AB4: Struck out ualuealuealeuale and if that last foul ball were a grand slam, half this board (probably you too) would be having an orgasm over him right now. :rolly -
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) I love the big guy, but good god does he have terrible taste in music. I'm actually terrified that some of y'all can even identify what songs are played. :rolly
