  1. QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Got a first date tonight with a girl who is currently "taking a break" from her BF. Ive only known this girl for a week now, and it appears im the lucky one that she gets to have her "fun" with while her and her ex take their break. She has already prewarned me of the situation, and that her and her bf will more than likely end up back together. So im all for just going out, hanging out and having a good time with no strings attached. I know this is most guys dream.... but any advice on if...persay, I wanted to try to win her over? You wont. In fact its better to treat it like a fun situation and whatever comes of it, comes of it. But dont try to be all girlish and sensitive and try and win her over. It will not only bite you in the ass, but she will put you in the friend zone, where you will never see her naked again.
  2. QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Jerry Narron's Reds won; Guillen's Sox lost. Come on. Narron sucks
  3. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 02:03 PM) So do Fighter pilots. And astronauts.
  4. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) NorthSideSox72 and Kalapse create an Ozzie Equilibrium. . I almost peed a little there.
  5. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) i think it makes sense for conley to go. although he can clearly use more development (particularly of his offensive game) he is most likely the top point guard in the draft. next year he'll be third, and possibly fourth (mayo, rose, lawson). His size needs some work too, but he may go. Either they all stay or all go. Either way, OSU just reloads again.
  6. Your thoughts everyone? http://www.chicagolimocoaches.com/802544.html
  7. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) Agreed. He did the right thing there and it probably did help. You just can't just say that his rant made them pitch better and give him all of the credit for the "turn around" after Contreras had mental distractions and Buerhle got injured early. And the bullpen? Garland?
  8. Cook wants to go because of finances. And few know that where Cook goes, Oden and Conley follow.
  9. never heard of it, but it looks cool.
  10. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) "Oh s***, Ozzie's pissed! I better pitch better or he'll yell at me! Good thing I wasn't trying before, so now that he's yelled at me I can 'turn it on'!" Yeah, when coaches yell or try and make players focus more, it usually has ZERO effect. Why even have managers?
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) So must every thread turn into one of these? I'm just wondering how you're going to prove that Ozzie getting pissed off turned the pitching around after what 1.5 bad outings? Javy hits the mound and dominates, since then the starting pitching has been great, I'm curious as to how Ozzie doing a little screaming in the press had this major effect on the pitching when there really was no problem to begin with, seeing as how only 2 starters got to pitch substantial innings.
  12. If it happens im in. We should get a party bus going.
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) Yes, but you know how this works. We'll hear about Ozzie's screw-ups every day (and I certainly agree he has plenty of them), but rarely does anyone acknowledge the positives he brings to the table. hopefully he says something that will get him fired.
  14. In case you were wondering, after ozzie went on a tirade, the pitching has been lights out.
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Anything on Water Street is the absolute s***. Just hop in a cab and tell them to take you to Water Street... it's laced with bar sexiness. You should definitely hit the casino too... lol. THE SAFE HOUSE. Its a good place to get hammered and watch your friends make asses of themselves while trying to get in. You need a password, PM me for it.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) Hernadez, Verlander, and Sizemore would be my three. You have superstar players, with low salaries who aren't going anywhere for a long time. I concur. Maybe M Cab too.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) I wonder if Berman blew his load over that. These Red Cub fans are much like their blue clueless bretheren. OOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOO. GRAFFANINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) He's fun to watch pitch. It's the hype machine that's been way over the top. An hour long SportsCenter at 5, and 30+ minutes of the show was dedicated to Matsuzaka. Exactly. And if I had a chance to draft either one of these guys, it would be a no-doubter to King Felix. Dice-k is effective right now, and has good stuff. But hes no pedro, Clemens, etc like they make him out to be.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) Yeah, I realize Jenks has better stuff. He also has a screw in his elbow, and a more violent delivery. Without a good fastball - ie 94-97 - Jenks will never be 100% effective, regardless of secondary stuff. Ah, so now its not his stuff, its his elbow. The guy is a top closer. His stuff is electric, and he will build up to the mid to high 90's. With that cutter and curve he will be sub 3 no problem
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:11 PM) I actaully do care. I have been able to see both his starts, and he is a blast to watch. This game is a fantastic showcase of two of the best pitchers in the game. If they both pitched a no-no, we would see every k by Dice-k and maybe 1 of Felix. Thats what im sick of.
  21. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) On the Comcast feed, he was 91-93. I think he might have thrown one at 89 again, but it might have been a cutter instead of a straight fastball. He's been throwing about 75 percent cutters over his straight 4 seemer. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) because 1. Garland looked good 2. Garland's game doesn't rely almost entirely upon his velocity 3. Garland might actually be better with a little less velocity and in case you hadn't noticed, kudos do go out to those that perform well. It's much easier to talk about worry than it is comfort. Jenks has MUCH better stuff than Garland. Now that he has control of more than 2 pitches, he doesnt need to rely on 100 mph heat. He has a cutter, slider, change, curve, backup slider, and a little sinker.
  22. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) The big difference is that you took your pic. I stole my pic from someone on ebay trying to sell a t-shirt. sold
  23. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) I never doubted Jenks!!! At least that is what I am saying in public. GREAT WIN!!!!!!!! and my avatar has been topped
