QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) I agree. I dont know if this one could or will do that, but just to be safe what do you suggest I do to make sure she doesnt. How do I "get the upper hand" Here is my advice, because ive gotten burned when i was younger too. Mosty it was because I got out of a long relationship, somewhere inside of me, I wanted it back. You have to play things aloof. Not neccesarily be a jerk or a dick to her, but really put it into your brain that you dont really care if she likes you or not. If she tries to hang out with you, do it. If she wants to pay attention to you, be yourself. But do not go out of your way to talk to her, dont look at her talking to other people and wish it was you. Be your own person, do your own thing, always have it in your mind that you are perfectly ok without the broad. If she likes you, she will make an effort, and will keep making an effort. If she wants to just f*** with you, you already have the mindset that it doesnt really matter if you have her, or dont have her, so its all good.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Yea thats pretty much my take on it. To some it is stupid to stay with a no win situation that you might get hurt in but at this point I think its better to just learn from the situations. On top of that as sad as it sounds its not like I have anything else going on at the moment. Most likely id just be at the gym or sitting at home last night if I didnt hang out with her. I know ive definatly changed my attitude especially for this one. Im not going to allow myself to fall for this girl especially knowing the situation. What I mean by changing too is that I will in no way show any signs to her that I could be "falling" Dude, dont fall for any girl that quickly or easily. You have to understand that the only way you will ever get a meaningful relationship is if there is actual work put into it. Let the girl convince you to like her that much, if she cant, throw her away and move on to the next one. Some girls prey on guys who fall that fast.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) I vote for replacing the "El" with a more modern "cleaner" looking transportation system. The EL renovations may even be done by then........ QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) I bet you stay in the city if the city hosts the Olympics. this is kinda a once in a life time thing that will happen in Chicago. You can reportedly make thousands of dollars for renting a residence out for 2 weeks. -
QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) . Just like Guillen's players are mostly responsible for Guillen's ring and record; they win despite him (well, except in Oakland, when even they couldn't overcome Guillen's poor 9th inning outfield arrangement). I've been fair in my evaluations of Guillen. Unlike you, I point out his good moves and bad. If you want to discuss how to evaluate a manger, using win totals and rings is a poor way. Since some managers have more talented teams than others, it'd be unwise to judge them based solely on win totals. So instead of using a whole boatload of information on how to judge a manager, you prefer to look at a handful of decisions that did not work out for him. Why is that a better solution? For every late game decision Ozzie has had go wrong, he has had one go right. People who hate Ozzie only look at the ones that go wrong, you never look at the decisions that make the game a winner, because you expect every game to be a winner. Saying that a team wins despite a manager is a pretty retarded thing to say, and basically only amplifies your extreme bias against Ozzie and his managing. If you dont feel comfortable going by his stellar record, his ring as a coach and as a manager, or his players willingness to play for him, why dont you come up with a solution?

QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) I do have a tad bit of trust issues, but im working on them. Im just not a very socially active person so when I do get attention(like last night) I tend to get over attached. Ill be fine, always am. Im always going to have my eye out for other prospects, but id be lying if I said I wouldnt hang out with this girl again. You are going to keep getting s*** on over and over until you break your typical pattern of falling for whatever girl shows you the least bit of interest.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) Ozzie won a ring. Remember that folks before you criticize any move he made or didn't make today. And dont forget that each and every swing the players take are directly influenced by the manager. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) From looking at the stat's in flash's post. Makes me sick, we had Bmac. Danks and Masset>BMAC we won that deal hands down.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) this is certainly exciting, but settle down people, this just means chicago will bei nthe running instead of LA....they are still competing internationally with other cities...we didnt get it yet We have a good chance. And I believe to compete for the actual games, we need to start some of the projects. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Now to plan avoiding driving to Chicago for the entire summer in 2016...... We dont want you here anyways....... I would rent out my condo for the entire games at a premium and stay the hell away from the city for sure. -
Danks was huge, the offense was not. The middle was lethargic and we could not score in easy chances.

Could you really ask for much more from a rookie 5th starter against one of the best offensive teams in the MLB? Now why cant we score a f***ing run. Heres a quick lesson. Gooch in the 2 hole-one of the best offenses in the league Erstad in the 2 hole-cant score a f***ing run. Swap them dammit!!!! -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) I'll take McCarthy from 2005 as the best 5th starter. And I think that Vazquez as a 5th starter last year put up better numbers than anyone we can have for the entire year. Everyone has to remember that technicall Danks should be about 1 or 2 years away. And somehow he is up early and still performing better than alot of more established starters in the league. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) I agree....Brian Anderson's defense is severely overrated. I'm more interested in seeing if he could provide any offense. Hell, at this point, I'd rather have Thome bat 2nd, and Uribe 3rd. Can we stop agreeing on s*** one of these days? BA needs to be playing everyday at AAA to develop the jumps that Erstad is showing. Plus he could develop his offense instead of striking out 3 times a week. -
Oden, Conley....AND Cook leaving?

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) I agree DA, its not that I mind grindErstad being on the team for what he makes salary-wise, but whats the point of him playing everyday, when BA could put the same numbers up, play better defense, and get the work he needs if hes ever going to develop a better approach at the plate. I wouldnt say BA would play better defense at this point. I think Erstad is getting the best jumps ive seen in a long time, and i think that hes playing almost GG caliber defense. I dont know if BA is any better at this point, in fact i dont think he is. -
Some people are so spoiled its sick. He not only has 2 rings, but has one of the best records in baseball over the last 4 years. But yeah, Ozzie is stupid, a horrible manager, blah blah blah. No manager ever makes mistakes........duh!!!
-
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Right, that's the bizzare thing about him. I believe there's actually been an examination that came back finding no physical problems. That could have not told the whole story, but yeah, I believe they haven't really found any physical problems with him other than the weird double jointed thing that's brought up. They say he has a genetic disorder that is called a "loose shoulder."

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 05:28 PM) and even he can make basic managing 101 moves. Hahahaha. Oh yes, I wish we had him instead of Ozzie, please!!!!!!! When will the stupidity stop? On a sane note. Zambrano said in the postgame that a more experienced CF'er would have gotten to those balls that dropped. Way to already call out your prized FA signing.
