  1. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) Was this steve who started the thread, he should be kicked off for at least 2 months.. Trust me let the power of jimbo start the next game thread. Steve is now suspended from starting the thread for 6 games.
  2. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Pretty much. It doesn't take Steve Stone to see what me and SSI71 have been saying about Greg Walker. He's a terrible hitting coach. Well, people are going to look at the prolific offensive teams he has coached and the fact that situationally we were the best hitting team in baseball with RISP last year.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) I wish Ozzie would go on a tirade right now, but he won't. He may, he just may. He doesn't like being embarrassed by a division rival in front of an opening day crowd, you can believe that.
  4. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) I really like BA. He just ripped that ball. And he plays great D. We gotta get him playing everyday, I think he can hit .300 in this league with 15-20 hrs a year, no question. The guy has incredible talent you can just see it... I disagree with .300, but I think 275 is feasible.
  5. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) you calling me Steve Phillips ? wanna take over my DPBL team? I think im done.
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Another bright spot on this day would be to knock around Borowski at bit. hahahaha QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) Borowski is gonna get torched in this division. He has no idea what he is in for. Scuffling around in the NL central and Nl east is nothing compared to the AL central.
  7. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Ohio ST 77 Florida 71 ugh, the kiss of death for the buckeyes.
  8. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) It's one game, put it in your pocket and move on...that simple. Not the end of the world...Count will be fine...just had bad location today and a few of those hits they got were WAY reaching...5000 feet outside pokes...rediclous...he pitched bad, but also had a lot of bad luck there. Agreed. I like how our hitting has looked vs CC. We havent hit him this hard in awhile.
  9. QUOTE(thefaint287 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 12:16 PM) You dont build muscle when you lift. Only when you rest. train only one muscle group every three days. lift heavy. eat peanut butter the kind with no sugar added. eat lots of eggs body builders eat a dozen eggs a day Welcome to Soxtalk!!!
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) i hope the count just had an off day and isn't sporting an injury He was just missing his spots during at bats and they were tagging it. He even threw some nice pitches as well, but they got to his mistakes, and there were alot of them. im sure he can get back to form.
  11. man Sisco has looked good. Makes me wish he was down in AAA getting stretched out.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) Good luck tonight. Hopefully it's not like a few years ago when the Sox blew that opening day game to the Royals, and it set the table for my Yellow Jackets to get blown out by UCONN (or maybe it was cause that UCONN team was incredible). Ugh, I already feel like its going to be very one-sided, and not on my side.
  13. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) So has anything good happened today? Yeah, the new MLB gameday is kickass
  14. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) they're definitely rolling today, not much you can do but take your medicine. We'll get em back sooner or later. Both teams have the capability to put out some 15-2 games.
  15. Jose was leaving alot of pitches out over the plate today, and the Indians just started out hot and havent relented. Im not really that concerned, I think Garland turns it around on wed.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Geoff Blum owns you.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) I don't care about the missing extras - it just drives me nuts that whenever I get on a Delta plane, I my knees are buried in the seat in front of me. Which gets really interesting if they try to recline. If you look at the Seat Guru site, you can see their leg room measures are consistently an inch or two less than the other majors. That allows them to get another row of seats on the planes, which obviously creates more revenue opportunities. Though I dislike United, I do love the Economy Plus section. That extra 6 inches of room is great, and worth it, for the money (when you aren't automatically upgraded, you sometimes have the option to pay for it). Economy plus and red carpet are probably 99 percent of why I fly united. Delta just isnt very conveinent due to weird hubs and basically no service in the area I travel. They also do have smaller seats, which doesnt bother everyone.
  18. QUOTE(NUKE @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) I LOVE Southwest. But then I get to use my Military ID to pre-board and pick any seat I want. The way they treat you with the lines and the people sitting on the floor waiting in their groups is horrid, especially if you are a business traveler. Its too bad, cause I would much rather fly out of midway than Ohare.
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) I can't believe he attempted it. He had to know he wasn't going to make it. It was very close to going in, it slipped out of his hand because of the contact.
  20. Even though it was clearly a charge, I have to say that Greg Oden almost completed the best final four dunk of all time when he took off just inside the free throw line. I KNOW everyone watching said a collective "whoa"
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) The development of players is undeniable, but he's still lost 3 games due to dumbass late game calls that anybody could see would fail. I'm not saying fire him, but if we finish a game or two out of the #2 seed and get the #5 instead, simple things like that are the reason. Ah, I wouldnt even put him close to a firing. He is getting his team to the playoffs, developing young talent, and improcving every year. But I agree with you on the late game situations. He has shown the ability to come out of timeouts and have a great scoring play drawn up. But late in the game its because one on one. I wonder why he takes that approach. On most nights I prefer the offense to go through the wing and Luol, but on nights when he is off, why not let someone drive and disk and let Ben spot up if needed?
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) 3rd time this year Skiles has lost a game due to being stubborn and making Ben take the last shot. When we are a #5 seed losing to Miami in the first round instead of a #2 with a clear path to the EC Finals, blame the "great" coach. At least Tyrus was amazing. You cant debate his coaching skills, the guy has really made this group of players into a good team, even the announcers were talking about how well organized they are than other teams and how their conditioning is top notch. With that said, he needs to find someone else to take that final shot, this is not his year for that. I would have had Kirk with the ball, and maybe drive and dish to TT. Something other than the Gordon dribble and turnover show. He's a pull up shooter, run him off some curls and let Kirk handle the ball.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) There's at least two people on this site that no for a fact that a few players dislike him. Im sure they do "no"
