Wade Davis magically became an amazing power pitcher out of nowhere. Hmmmm.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:56 PM) Thank god. Good job Duke. Robin got lucky Maybe he rightfully kept the pitcher in who got the job done?

Four outs.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:53 PM) KC getting every borderline call the last few innings. Duke continues to look awful, as he had nothing in ST That was the third out. So he's looked pretty good.

Didn't seem like Eaton thought that was a straight steal.

You have to pitch Hosmer inside so stop it.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:34 PM) The odd thing is we keep coming inside to their LH hitters when the ump is giving a lot of room on the outer half. See Adam LaRoche's K's. He's much better middle to outside. That's where his power is. Ideally you don't throw it there.

Hosmer is awful chatty

If Moustakas is someone with speed this would immediately be 2nd and 3rd n

Eventually Moustakas is going to cost them a lot of runs that far up the order.

Oh Gordon.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) The Royals broadcast is making it quite clear that the Royals play baseball the right way, and the White Sox do not. They would know. They've seen it exactly for one year.

Flowers hit that so high

KC is like a bunch of teenagers.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) I'm on gameday- what happened after he got hit? Staredowns, yelling, or what? thanks Nothing.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) I agree completely. JT Barrett, Cardale Jones, Connor Cook, Christian Hackenberg, Boykin kid from TCU. I honestly like all 5 of them more than Mariota. Barrett isnt going into the draft, he's barely playing this year if at all. I love Connor Cook's game.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Leonard Williams is incredible, I won't be upset if we this crackpot fake trade thing happens and we select him. I just think there are just as many good QB's available next year and would like to wait if possible. The Bears have so many holes.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) I would take Luck in top 5. He has carried his team. The question is what do those top 5 QB's really have in common other than "pocket passer?" Extreme intelligence, understanding of defensive schemes and ability to react and anticipate. Not all have the biggest arm or the best measureables. But they all can pick apart a defense quickly and easily.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Michigan got some 6'10 kid from Germany. I dunno. Comes from a great town, not sure if that helps. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) Ah yes, we forgot good ole Eli Manning Oh I thought that was the manning he included
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) It's funny because you never hear him mentioned with the top group of QBs, but then you also never hear much criticism of him either, they way you do of Eli, Rivers, even Stafford. I wonder what Pittsburgh fans truly think of his play. (Although I think he's not liked for other reasons) I believe he led the league in yards and 3rd in QB rating last year so it couldnt be bad.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) Rivers shouldn't be on that list. I'm a homer but there is a 2 time super bowl champ I would put ahead of Rivers.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) First, I don't think the Bears could actually move from #7 to #2 just by trading Cutler. But regardless, if that is the deal, I would do it without hesitation and then trade the #2 pick to get more picks unless Winston slipped to No. 2. While Mariotti has unique skills, we have seen what type of QB constantly gets his team in the playoffs and that is your prototypical pocket QB. The best QBs of the last decade has been undeniably: Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees and probably Rivers rounding out the top five. The best QBs are the pocket QBs, and that is what the Bears need. IMO, Winston can be that guy, Mariotti cannot. One of those QB's is not like the others.....

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) Marriota's other issue is his wideouts generated a lot of seperation so he didn't need to refine some of his mechanics (which goes back to some of Gabriel's concerns) and the key again is whether he has the work ethic and ability to refine. None of these guys are all pro QB's today, but Marcus and Jameis have the skill sets to be. What they make of it and how they handle the adjustments and the mental side of the NFL game is to be determined. Hard to say and it is why QB has such a high bust rate. The one thing I like about Winston is we have seen him run a pro-style offense and as a result of his successes their he gets pluses from me in that regard. However, they are both thought of as smart QB's who can anticipate, we just don't have a lot of film on Marcus demonstrating such. Like I said, I'm not going to get pissed on us drafting a guy who is a consensus top pick at QB early (or moving up to get him). I'd be pissed if we moved up for any other position or took someone like Hundley @ 7. Taking Marcus is more akin to any team who takes the top QB on the board early (and one who is the #1 pick if Winston isn't in this draft). I dont like moving up for any of these QB's to be honest. Im not sure any of them are that quality. I'd rather draft other positions of need.

The CBS Sports article seems to be entirely basing their rankings off of tournament success THIS year. Nobody loses more than Wisconsin in the Big Ten and they gain only one top 100 player. But all of a sudden Bo Ryan is the reason they got to the final four? They will be competitive in conference with Hayes and Koenig, but they are going to have a HUGE drop off.
