QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) Jeff Arnold @JeffArnold_ Chris Sale wouldn't confirm or deny that he tried to get into the Royals clubhouse in the 8th inning after being ejected: "It's in the past" Yeah pretty clear he did and the Sox are trying to keep it quiet

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 01:39 PM) Levine is on WSCR now saying that Sale went to the Royals clubhouse/locker room after the incident to look for Ventura. Hes repeating the twitter story.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) Hes been that same exact character ever since he played for Notre Dame...so pretty much hated by half of America before he ever stepped onto a professional baseball diamond. And some traditionalists just dont like professional athletes with outlandish hair, either. I know him personally and thats where my dislike stems from.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) After laboring through this game in person last night, I can finally talk about it. That was a tough, tough, loss. Felt something fierce at Avi for not stepping up. His approach is still entirely flawed. He was taking huge hacks when he just had to get the ball in play. I'd like to see Shuck get the start in RF tonight after that dismal display. I was four rows behind the Royals dugout and the only audible word from that fight was "f***." TV didn't really give a good angle (from either KC/Chicago broadcasts) but the Sox were the first to leave the dugout. Sale was first out and Samardzija a few feet behind him charging right when Eaton and Ventura started converging. Maybe I am a meatball because I played but I love seeing fight from our 1-2 punch. I'd feel so different if we won but it was a great game. I am worried about Samardzija getting a 10 game suspension. We can't handle that without off days/extra roster spots. I have to come he conclusion that Samardzija is just that dude who f***s the humble main character's ex girlfriend in beginning of a '90s movie. I love to have him, but I'd hate him if I were a fan of another team. I hate him as a person but I like him on our team. If he misses two start Rodon will take them.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) I watched that video on MLB of Ventura almost getting into a fight with Mike Trout. At first Trout was like what is this dude doing, but when he crossed home plate he was pretty pissed at Ventura. Ventura wanted no part of that. Ventura is that dude that starts a fight and then hides behind his big friend. Ventura does this showoff leg kick when he throws hard and Trout put it right back at his face. Karma at its best. Yost's interview of course was a lot of "I didnt see anything" and "he pitches with emotion." Just watch when he plunked Lawrie, he walks towards him for no reason while Lawrie just stares at first base and walks down the line. He's a punk.
-
Ventura quick pitched him because hes a dick, nothing more.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 10:08 AM) This is the thing to keep in mind. Some teams don't pair up well, they clash, and they fight a lot when they play each other. The Royals, on the other hand, fight everybody. IIRC Yost had some anger issues in Milwaukee even peaking with him trying to fight Tony G in the dugout. Edit: Yup, good memory http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/2125134/

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) And to top it off, Adam Eaton while he was with AZ never played against KC. I think we've confirmed this guy isnt much of a "thinker"
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) i am not saying that the source is correct, but they probably have crossed paths in the minors. I highly doubt the guy is talking about stuff Eaton did at the major league level He said "to other KC players" He probably thinks its the other Adam Eaton.
-
And its the same as the KC beat writer making up that Sale went to the clubhouse, I would be SHOCKED if that was true.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 09:47 AM) No doubt he's bias, but thought it was interesting he was quick to point out Eaton's previous behavior against them. I can't recall anything Eaton did specifically....I just think he's an obnoxious player. So in his 23 games vs KC he's pulled enough "bush league" stuff to be charged by a pitcher? Let's call a spade a spade here, a pitcher nobody has heard of spits bulls*** on twitter because his buddies are getting smeared in the media.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 09:43 AM) Who is that, and what is he talking about? Ex-KC pitcher, no bias there And I am pretty confident saying Sale didnt go anywhere near the KC Clubhouse to fight.
-
Volquez should be glad he missed that punch. That had broken wrist all over it. You can tell he's never actually hit someone before. This Royals team has shown its pretty classless and other teams are getting sick of it.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) To an extent, sure. I think the problem for me is they really haven't dug into any other character besides Phil. Everyone else is just a type. Which is fine if that's how the show is, but Phil has to do something else besides trying to get laid. Maybe now that everyone seems partnered up he'll move on. It would have been 100 times better if this show were on Netflix and the entire season or half season was him wandering around by himself. Then he meets Carol and the end of the 1st season is January Jones showing up. You'd get more comedic value with Forte being Forte in different situations with other things to do. Carol, btw, was perfectly cast. Have you seen the latest episode? I think they are going to open up Todd a bit. Carol/Kristen Schaal was perfection in this role. Shes so great. From IMDB

Jose Abreu Speaks His Mind on Sox' Poor Play -- a 1st?
RockRaines replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jose has become probably THE leader of the team. Which is very good. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) That's kinda how I'm starting to feel. I keep watching to see what's gonna happen next but I don't know for how much longer. I'm also trying to figure out the apparently unlimited supply of gasoline and edible food and complete lack of bodies and cars on the road. It seems to have been a very neat, quick and orderly extinction. I dont think its supposed to be a sci-fi premise of 100% realism on the after effects of a deadly virus. It's a comedy and they touch on the lack of food a few times and thats about it. They show him taking gas from a station early on. With nobody else in the world I am sure there is quite a bit of gas to go around which is probably the assumption.

I have to admit, I thought the premise of "Last man on Earth" was dumb as hell, but its easily one of my favorite new shows. The writing and acting are awesome.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) I am thinking the best route the Bears could have taken would have been to get rid of Cutler so they would likely tank. This way you could have still built your defense but you would have been bad enough to get a high draft pick and possible top QB in next years draft. With Cutler and this new defense they are going to be good enough to be in the middle of the pack and for what? There is no QB in college that is worth tanking for.

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) and a very good point. i really like gosford park alot. now birdman, i really appreciated the late 1950's early 60's flavor of directing and editing with a dark feelings. a great movie, but not a movie that i would like to see over and over. another movie like that is glengarry glen ross. great actors, acting and the cast is who's who of the movies. See I love GGGR. Thats what art is all about, difference of opinions.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:43 PM) Never play full-on retard...Ben Stiller paraphrase If im 45 and have seen the most movies or taught IB Film, does that mean I should be the final word? Of course not. Art and film are subjective mediums. I love Gladiator and Pacific Rim...and hokey Disney sports films like The Rookie or Glory Days. Does that mean I have to break down Tony Scott's film Unstoppable and support the idea its 100x better than any Bay film...that Deep Impact is still better than Armageddon...or should I instead support the thesis that Scott brothers films will drive one crazy by bouncing you around with that camera like a bad acid trip meeting the worst tendencies of the Jason Bourne films? This is like arguing that DaVincis the greatest artist of all-time because of the Mona Lisa and not his other more aesthetically pleasing work. Generally, when someone tries to prove anyone wrong in these film threads theyre going to go down in flames. I take people's opinions on films with a grain of salt since its very much a matter of taste. As long as I like something, I am ok with it regardless of its reviews. Otherwise I would feel sorry for myself that I thought Birdman and Gosford Park sucked donkey balls.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) Is Hackenberg really that big of a prospect? I could see "suck for Luck", but Hackenberg wasn't all that good last year. No. God no.
