QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) It's over. Hahn should back up the truck. Blow it up. Everyone sucks.

3 innings into the first game of the season. Bandwagon already emptying.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) For those not watching, that pitch to Perez was not a bad pitch......low and grazed the outside corner of the plate. Good piece of hitting. The slide was fine. The roll was not. They are supposed to do away with that.
-
Alex Gordon has to get called on that roll into Micah. If this isn't opening day at home that's a call that should be made every time.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Gotta be more patient than that Jose. Man I hope he reads this thread for advice. ;-)

Wrigley Field is just not ready for primetime, HUGE mistake to open it up.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Okay, I normally go to the stand-alone storefront that actually has chairs. I keep threatening to get one of the guisados, but never do. Yeah go to the one on first and lake in the Citgo.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 5, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) How do you actually get them to give you a carnitas taco? It seems like every time I go there, it's "we're out". One time I ordered carnitas and got carne asada. Is it because I'm a gringo? At that one (which happens to be in a gas station) Ive never had the issue. Carnitas mixed, add cheese, give me a ton of the hot sauce on the side. The other two locations are more like stores so I never go there. They are pretty confusing. On the Pete's thing, if you guys go there, make sure you order the half chicken-Greek with rice. Will change your life.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) Are they offering him anywhere near market value? I would think that's why they haven't agreed yet, but of course I could be wrong. No clue but I know the mutual interest is extremely high. Like if this was college he may have committed already. -
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) Cubs reassigned 3B Kris Bryant and SS Addison Russell to minor league camp. Bryant was the best hitter in the Cactus League this spring, but the Cubs can get an extra year of control on him if they leave him off their roster for another two weeks. The 23-year-old top third base prospect should be mashing in the majors by the middle of April. Per Rotoworld Cry Boras cry I really wish Boras would force a swap for Rodon. Mutually beneficial.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) Then why isn't he signed yet? Mutual agreement it's a bit early. They have a very good relationship. The discussions aren't going to just end. -

So much smoke. It's almost like they've already had some discussions. But hey, what do I know. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Brian Davis @BDavisAAS 6h6 hours ago Texas officials prepared to go as high as 6 years, $18 million to land Shaka Smart. @statesman http://shar.es/1guyoa That's really not that crazy considering how much money they have. I still question his ability to be successful at a big time schools with big time recruits. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc 2h2 hours ago Confirming, #Blackhawks can't activate Patrick Kane from injured list until playoffs due to salary-cap restrictions. No room at the inn. Whatever. We need him whenever we can add him. -
First round in the books. Irons pretty iffy but from 200 out I was dead on. Also on the last hole, a par 3 170 yarded I hit it four inches from the hole. I was legit telling it to stop because I didn't want my first ace to be one nobody else saw since I was alone. Shot a 40 on the back for an 87. Overall pretty good. Playing again Saturday before my trip to Phoenix. Oh and I can't tell golfers this enough. If you have a chance to put a hybrid in the bag. Do it. I've replaced my 3 and 4 iron and I stuck at least 3 balls on the green from 200 plus. With irons it would have been a crap shoot.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) Rant A VP forgot his password while on vacation, calls the helpdesk who of course change it for him without checking to see if he is on our network. He isn't so the password never syncs to his laptop, and he refuses to go to our nearest branch location (50 miles away) to get on our network to sync it. Instead he wants a new laptop shipped to him (he's in Panama) and he's going to ship the old one back. So pretty much he's going to spend more time shipping/receiving the laptops then it would take him to drive to the branch and just hardwire it in. But since he's a VP we pretty much can't say no. And I'm sure there will be documents missing as I bet the last backup time wasn't today. All this because he can't remember his password while on vacation.... What the hell!? /Rant His windows password on the device?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) It's only 49 dollars. This is a no brainer for me. Who is going to end up at games alone this year? Ill probably go alone a few times. Its just so easy to jump on the green line and go.

Matta making Ohio a priority this recruiting cycle. Safe to say he's learned his lesson.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) I was definitely impressed with his passing this year. It will be interesting to see if teams try to use him as a PG. I see him as a guy that could average like 16-4-5, but I'm not sure you'll get much more. He seems to me to be Ginobilli-like in the NBA.

Um yeah, Im in on that.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) The top of this draft is a bit weird because none of the top college guys are mind-blowing athletes. Towns is solid but not explosive and a bit awkward with his footwork, Russell is "smooth" but not a leaper or uber-quick, and Okafor is slow and mostly earth-bound. One thing I found pretty amazing from the DraftExpress videos was just how much better Russell is against sub-.500 teams. He still puts up stats either way, but his efficiency nose-dives. Against sub-.500 teams, he shot 56% inside the arc, 50.6% from 3 and had a TS% of 67.8. Against teams over .500, that plummeted to 44%, 35.4% and 52.6% respectively. I know that guys are going to be better against bad teams, but that's a HUGE gap. The more I watch Okafor, the more concerned I get about his D and rebounding. So many times he just stands there when the ball goes up. If you look at his rebounding, over 3.5 of his 8.7 come on the offensive end. Whoever said Brook Lopez might be right, though I think he has the potential to be far more dangerous in the post. I think Russell is the safest to be a solid starter, but that efficiency could be an issue. I think I'd take Towns because he has the potential to be the most complete player, and he should at least be useful. You gotta remember that Russell was the entire focus of the offense for opposing teams. Good teams literally tried to make the rest of the team beat them, and most often they did not. I think he's a really good complimentary piece on an NBA team. Passing, shooting, ball handling with a good work ethic. He's a very solid pick, but he's not a guy you build around IMO.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) I think he's a very good player, but not someone I'd take with the first pick. He was very bad defensively in the game, as he seemed slow off his feet. I do have some hope for his offensive game to expand, as he's a phenomenal free throw shooter for his size/age (as is Myles Turner). D. Russell has the best chance to be a game changer out of this draft class. There are several big men that I put into the same catagory like Turner, Towns, even Parker. I do not think they are #1 pick type big men but are solid contributors in the NBA. People like Okafor because his game has the chance to be a bit more expansive than those guys.
