If we don't get one of Bragg, Kennard or King it's a total failure. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) I don't think so. They still should have won that game. Tons of huge plays down the stretch. Championship caliber IMO. Nobody is championship caliber losing in the round of 32.

You will now go down as an overrated team unfortunately for them. Great season, but not enough.

Kennard to Duke tomorrow. f***. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) Jason Williams. Grant Hill. Christian Laettner. Danny Ferry. Bobby Hurley. Nice job of contenting the final 3. Dawkins' first NCAA appearance in six years. NIT title two years ago. Patience paid off. First Sweet 16 since the Mike Montgomery days. Are you trying to say they were all better as freshman?
-
It's totally unrealistic but if for some reason Parker and Wiggins stayed one year think of the rosters. Alexander and Wiggins, Parker and Okafor. Man.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 01:44 PM) I want to know why Frankamp barely played in the 2nd half, he was the only who could hit a jumper for them. Odd. It was an oddly coached game. Against the zone they could have either tried to shoot them out of it or they could have overloaded them inside. They did neither.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 01:29 PM) Precisely why I added those points (haven't watched em/very short sighted)....I don't question that they're still big time talents, I was just hoping to see these uber talents go off on the biggest stage. Disappointed to see both of them gone. Parker is arguably the best freshman that has ever suited up for Duke. Wiggins is an extreme talent. Unfortunately for us the tourney is a fickle thing and any team can lose at any time.
-
Wow. So many top teams out. This may end up a really weak final four talent wise.
-
Well if you haven't seen a single regular season game then yes it's short sighted. Wiggins was their leading scorer last game. So judging players by one game in the NCAA tournament is pretty bad.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 12:20 PM) The great coaching tree and brother don't mean anything, plenty of coaches have come from elite coaching trees and have sucked. And it's not like he inherited a train wreck program, they were either in the tourney or NIT for 4 straight years(NIT for 3 years) when he got them. He had a nice but not spectacular season this year and has happened to win 2 straight close games in the tourney. If I'm an elite school I'm not investing my program in him when he really hasn't proven anything yet. Elite schools don't have openings, but big schools do. And they would hire a guy like Miller in a heartbeat. And the coaching pedigree matters quite a bit actually. It's what got him the head job at Dayton in the first place.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) I'd definitely wait on Archie Miller if I were a big program, not much there yet. Comes from a great coaching tree, elite coach brother, rebuilt small school into a sweet sixteen team. Lots there.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) I'm a Michigan fan and I'm still not totally sold on Bielien. Not a fan of some of his rotations. If he takes this team to the F4, than I fully be on board. I have trouble forgiving him for the Zack Novak playing despite being awful. Thad's done so much with so little sometimes and is great but still should've won national title with Conley and Oden. I really like Bielien as a coach, don't get me wrong. I just think it was short sighted to call him the best in the conference. That team could have many other years, but that Florida team was one of the best ever. I still think Thad had better teams than that one though. Hopefully the 2015 class fills out like it should.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 06:28 AM) Headed to the LA area in a couple weeks with the wife and kid. I was hoping for some restaurant and activity recommendations. We are staying in Venice Beach, going to Disneyland and to a Kings game, and the Mrs. wants to do one of those whale-watching things. Any good restaurants in VB and near Staples Center and Disney? Thanks in advance! Vb has lots of good restaurants on the water. I also love omelette factory for breakfast. It's right across from a great Chicago bar.

Nice to see the media picking up on weeks old stories about trying to trade Adam Dunn.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 22, 2014 -> 10:19 PM) I wonder what big time job Amaker ends up at, done a great job there I'm not sure he wants to leave. And I'm hiring Archie Miller if I am a big program out looking.
-
Good win for Bucky.
-
This game is awesome.
-
Two bad shots by Ennis. Drive the ball to the hole.
-
Wow. Terrible call. Game changing.
-
Cuse wishes that Aaron Craft made that shot. Dayton is a bad matchup for them if they can't shoot.
-
Here comes a cuse run.
-
Dayton can shoot over a zone.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 22, 2014 -> 06:45 PM) It is if you're a White Sox fan. Once again, I know his record. I'm talking about NOW, today. We'll just have to agree to disagree. There's the big picture and the smaller frame within that bigger picture. For example, on paper, Iowa fans can point to McCaffrey completely rebuilding three programs (UNC Greensboro and Siena) and where the program was four years ago...or they can look at losing 7 of their last 8 and choking/losing so many close games over the last two years. As far as Matta goes, I meant he should get credit for Lickliter's success...75% of it. And then Stevens went on and won with Lickliter's players, but some would say Brad Stevens is the best basketball coach (NBA and college) alive today. You can't declare a best coach in the conference if you can't look further back than today. College Bball has ebbs and flows of talent for most programs so you are right I don't agree with being that short sighted.

Sdsu looks good but North Dakota isn't exactly a world beater.
