  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 10:49 AM) Have an exchange server through godaddy.com I think. For an office that small isnt exchange a bit expensive? For most outsourced email you can stop attachments at the source and even keep those that dont need to download files off your local server. I've seen it in google where admins or people who dont know any better can only open in google docs.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) Yeah, we're a 5 attorney, 10 person total office, so it makes no sense to have a full time IT person. We actually spend more on IT crap than I think it's worth. Sadly, for whatever reason, our email scanner didn't catch this and then my secretary opened up an email she shouldn't have. Paying the ransom did seem to work btw. Now i'm looking into signing up for a better email filter service. Anyone have any recommendations? Do you outsource email?
  3. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) I loved Robinson even though he made my cringe. I do like Gardner too, but I just miss having a pocket QB at Michigan. That's not the reason they lost, but it'd be refreshing to get back to what Michigan is used to. They wanted to, but the running game is so bad he needs to run. The hope is the young pups on the OL will change that.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 08:09 PM) Wow, Manziel down It looked bad.
  5. It gives me great joy to see that rapist choke repeatedly.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 07:45 PM) They haven't called holding all game on either team. Figures. Big ten football. I hate that.
  7. Refs just stopped calling penalties. Hold right in front of him.
  8. Hackenburg was the top HS QB recruit in the country. I think they were spot on.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 07:20 PM) The frosh, but it's just wishful thinking since they keep squeezing out wins. This game's a blow out if they take care of the ball in the first half. Didn't both teams have 3 turnovers in that half? I've only actually watched the second.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 05:32 PM) If Michigan loses, can we put Gardner back at WR? Problem is there is no backup.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) Some people think AP Jr. (a child AP actually acknowledges) got killed. Perhaps the media should do a better job of getting the story straight. Or it could be an issue of comprehension. He never eve met the kid that died. Why should I feel sorry for a guy who didn't care to meet his child?
  12. Kids are murdered every night in senseless crimes in Chicago. Why should I hold this kind up higher because it was an NFL players sperm?
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) Adrian Peterson (personal) told reporters he will play in Week 6 against the Panthers "without a doubt." The f***s he gives can be counted on zero hands. Football or grieving. Hmmm
  14. Just got back from STL. Downtown tickets were going for 30 bucks. Really god seats were under 100. All you can eat and drink for 150-200
  15. Looking for home security? I fully endorse Front Point. Self install, totally wireless and great service. Tonight they alerted me to my water heater bursting while I was comfortably upstairs. They then called a few other times for status and recommended help. Fantastic company
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) Your contracted, out-of-office IT person should have sufficient security in place to prevent an email attachment from encrypting your entire network. Yeah, that thing should have been shut down before it hit her email box.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) Probably app data for your games, if you have any. Some sort of metadata or backup info.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 05:52 PM) Yep. I had a couple Creative MP3 players and they were incredibly easy to add music to. Never had to fuss with that iTunes bulls***, which also kept me from ever being enslaved by the Apple ecosystem. I just wish they had made a good touchscreen mp3 player back then and I would have never had to have switched to a Zune HD because those Creative Zens never gave me any issues. I was referring to the Creative jukebox, it was difficult to use and manage. Most of the mp3's we downloaded were from file shares, s***ty PTP's or early torrents. Luckily we all worked out the bugs for you kids to enjoy later.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) I've had the Genie system for a few days now and wow is it cool. No more being stuck watching some crap my wife tapes because we had 2 shows on at the same time. Also, I'm a huge fan of the PIP with 2 channels. Now I can flip from the game to something else and always know when the game comes back from commercial. It is seriously awesome. I actually forget that i can do some of the stuff that I can do.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) I was gonna say the CD MP3 player was unbelievable to me before I saw that picture was of those. Apple brought design consideration to the world. You see that everywhere now. They are not what they once were but no need to re-write what they brought to the table. Design is a big deal now for google, microsoft, etc. Before it was an afterthought. Downloading and loading MP3's onto one of those or even something like winamp took a decent amount of tech savy. Itunes/ipod changed the entire game on that. Great link to show what this thing was and the screens. I forgot it took 8 batteries. http://www.thg.ru/mobile/20001110/print.html
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) Taking things to mass market is a lot more revolutionary than just creating something nobody uses. I had one of these. It was revolutionary for me personally, but the iPod just destroys it in terms of what it brought to the masses as well as tight integration with software.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 02:00 PM) Right, but I mean no other company can invent YOUR brand name product. That's like saying Honda invented the Civic. Well....yeah....it's THEIR brand, no one else could have ever invented the HONDA Civic. That's why it sounds so stupid to hear people say that. It's probably because they have no idea that an ipod is not a category of devices, it's a brand of mp3 player. You probably tell people they arent using a kleenex because they are using facial tissue. The iPod revolutionized the MP3 player market in that it made it accessible by more than us nerds who were manually loading our devices with multiple tools. You cant deny that it made the portable music market what it is today.t
  23. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) You and I may know that, but the typical consumer does not. You may be surprised how many people I know think Apple invented smart phones, mp3 players (except they typically say things like "Apple INVENTED the iPod!" which is painfully stupid to hear), and tablets. I find most iPhone users to be completely oblivious to technology, which mostly consists of college girls. Seems in college that most of the girls have iOS phones and most of the guys have Android phones. They did invent the ipod, just not the MP3 player.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) To be honest, I miss the hard keyboard on my phone. I despise the touchscreen and swipe nonsense. You probably miss the stylus too, and generally non-functional touch screens.
