QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 15, 2017 -> 07:22 PM) It's Lovie Ball all the way, 2000s Bears. No quarterback, just turnovers and hold them to field goals. I'm not sure those teams ever gave up 400 yards on the ground. -
Why the need to shoot? There is a subset of police that absolutely get off on having guns and being able to use them.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 04:35 PM) I have basic cable and have all the networks listed. Yes, now.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) So with all the cord cutters, why has MLB Network, NFL Network, FS1 and NBCSN all have increases in viewership since 2012? https://www.google.com/amp/amp.awfulannounc...a-playoffs.html Because they have nowhere to go but up now that they've finally contracted mainstream events. They've also enjoyed a much larger audience due to increased carriers. Zero of those listed by you have been on basic cable or sat packages

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 04:04 PM) You mean like how Joel Osteen is on every Sunday morning? A fun one is that Duck Dynasty was on A&E which is owned by Disney. Because again, Disney cares about money, not politics. And did you know that Freeform, who is owned by Disney, broadcasts 700 Club which is Pat Robertson's talk show. Correct. Sirius (HQ in NYC) broadcasts religious AND extreme right wing shows.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) Its like arguing that the reason there are more Disney stores in Chicagoland area than in Kansas is political, while discounting the fact that there is more money to be made in the Chicagoland market. There are more Chik Fil A in Los Angeles than the entire state of Montana, I guess Chik Fil A has a hidden liberal agenda. Exactly. Even centrist views are considered "liberal leaning" so of course EVERYTHING is going to be viewed as biased toward liberals. It's most of the population. On the plus side There is a gigantic media presence for far right beliefs that the left doesn't get. There are tons of religious and far right channels on every platform.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) I think youre missing the point. I dont know if there is a liberal bias or not. What I care about is how much money Disney makes because I am a shareholder. If I thought the stock would go up because they fired her, I would say fire her. Since I dont think it matters at all, I dont care. I personally think that companies like Disney are likely to make more money if they are perceived to be "liberal" so I have no problem with them pushing that perception. My guess is that they agree with me. I leave opinions and politics out of it. A majority of the country leans left of this fake center line so of course their material is presented in a way to garner the most viewers. If it was off target it wouldn't be successful. It also the reason that "Alt-left" media is non existent while alt right has millions upon millions of listeners and viewers. You play to your audience.

Eh, I loved them both...

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) As someone not watching the game...what does this mean? Beating the sox with below average stuff because they play in a s***ty dome?
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) I agree it doesn't make sense that the media has a war on the marketplace of ideas but that's how it is. Thats not what I meant. "The left" doesnt get to say whatever they want. "The right" has far more radical opinions being spouted on the airwaves than anything "The left" or radical left could ever have. Rush has the same number of monthly listeners as ESPN has monthly viewers and his views are far more radical than anything said on ESPN. Blaming "the media" for pandering towards a majority of the country is comical.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 11:37 PM) He's talking about how people on the left can espouse their political views (regardless of how informed or uniformed they are) with no recourse and people on the right or those with non-SJW views are held to a different standard. Still doesn't make sense. But ok.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 06:04 PM) Only the left has the right. Huh

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) Was just comparing and thought the same thing. I'll wait another year. My AT&T contract will be up anyway and may switch to Verizon when they offer a free phone to flip. I kind of like the X, but I think I'll wait a bit. The 7 still screams and ive never had an issue.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 09:58 AM) I stand corrected. V8 doesnt do it for me anyway, the faster chip, meh. I havent seen my 7 lag yet
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 09:19 AM) So no 8 plus? I'll stick with 7 until next year ? Yes there is. https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-8

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 05:09 PM) I use google maps especially for rush hour traffic as it is pretty precise on ETA. The side street directions make it interesting at times. Choosing local or express lanes on the Ryan is awesome. Waze is better for the police notifications and things like that. Both are incredible apps. And I use both WAY before I use my car's nav. Of course I DO look at it for traffic flow once in awhile but thats it.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 10:46 PM) Have you used Google Maps? Is Waze that much better? I like Waze for road trips because of the notifications and the easy route adjustments I make on the fly. Google maps is excellent for walking and just plain directions. I dont rely on Waze for actual turn by turn because it takes me weird ways, but its great for trips.

I have a newer Sony, and yet I use my iphone for 99.99999% of my pictures.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) I'm still really happy with the Explorer. We took it on a road trip a couple weeks ago and it was super comfortable. My only minor gripe is the navigation system, which is a bit dated. Starting with the 2017 models they include the apple/android car stuff. Not sure it would have been worth thousands just to get that though. Check the Honda Pilot, if you haven't already. It's more cross-over style if you guys are into that. Still very room and comfortable with some good features and slightly better gas mileage. Let's be honest, everyone uses Waze anyway. Car-nav is kind of dying

Saw my friend's movie this weekend, The 60 yard line, and it was hilarious. Showing only in a few theaters (had to go to addison) but I recommend it.

Eventually losing good players catches up with you. If the offense had a pulse maybe it would have been enough -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 9, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) Still the best DL Schiano has ever coached? I guess going up against that offense in practice gave Schiano a reason to think that. Yes. The secondary is young and the offense hasn't helped them. They've negated the line all night -

It's time to end the JT Barrett era
