QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) I don't get this...my bill doesn't change unless I add or remove services. Mine hasnt been consistent for more than a few months at a time for the last 7 years. They add or delete packages, add channels, up internet cost. Anything to make your bill increase.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) I would think most would consider Kentucky from last year a powerhouse. UNC (when Marshall was healthy) and Syracuse were pretty good too. Hell, I'd probably take that OSU team over the options this year, we'll see how some of these teams look during conference play. Not a chance. The same thing was said last year and the year before and so on. Nobody thinks anyone is a powerhouse until after the season. Kentucky lost at IU and was exposed, then the same happened to OSU. College bball is crazy like that.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) I wish the Bears would miss the playoffs, but finishing against the Cardinals and Lions sure improves their odds. I just wish we would have folded earlier so we can get a nice draft pick. We NEED OL and LB, most importantly an Urlacher replacement.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) Last, but not least, Comcast's monthly charges are not consistent month to month, even if you don't change up your service. ATT is. I look at my bill every month and everything is the exact same as the month before. It's refreshing to see that. Complete understatement. Comcast has no rhyme or reason to how they bill you. It's a shell game that you MUST play with them if you want to keep your bill low. Take a look at your bill, call them up, question them, get a 6 month discount, repeat.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 09:47 AM) Marty is a guy who posts here. He doesn't insult people. Why is that we treat him like this villain when he's simply a guy who posts here? If he thinks there is group think here, and it blinds us to a few things, and wants to point it out, it's his right. No one needs to take offense to that. o i forgot he's cowley Because you guys keep quoting him and it ruins the ignore feature!! Seriously, hows the Upton trade coming these days?
  6. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) No, I agree with you. I was just wondering what sort of team you think of as the gold standard. For the past 5 years everyone on this board has said there is no powerhouse team, I wouldnt worry about it.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Honestly, no one in the B1G has proven much outside of Illinois and slighty Minny. Indy was overrated at one and also beat the country's two most overrated teams. OSU and Mich, not much there. But all five are top ten in the country. Rankings dont mean s*** right now. OSU has been spanking mid-level tourney teams and got beat at Cameron. Play Kansas next week. Michigan looks like a powerhouse and Illinois has beated some quality opponents. I personally think all 4 teams (IU included) are #1-3 seeds in the tourney which places them mostly in the top 10. If the conference slate eats on of them up then they fall a bit but the conference has some very very high quality teams.
  8. Interesting storyline here with indianas current coach vs their future coach.
  9. Both big men out for Butler and Zeller is nowhere to be found. 6 boards?
  10. Are the refs trying to foul out the entire Butler team?
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Indiana is the same team as last year. Entirely average away from home. Still weak defensively.
  12. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 03:36 AM) Man if you DONT own a gun for home defense in Chicago you're a f***ing idiot. We are living in American Afghanistan, a city held under terror by an unstoppable onslaught of crime. When can we point out that Chicago is going to break 500 homicides this year and, BY TOTAL COINCIDENCE, also has the tightest gun control in the United States? 30 is a tragedy, 500 is a war. I do, and I hope there is never a day that I have to use it. Going back to the last page, I am trained and proficient in safety and use of my weapon. You dont want to knock down my door because headshots are what I am going for.
  13. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) Seems reasonable enough. Like it or not, roster management in either sport is not going away. I get a little touchy when others make it sound like Crean is crooked as hell and treats kids terribly when there is no evidence to believe as much. You didn't argue it that way. I'll give you that. No, he's just one of the best at it. Some coaches deal with one and dones (Crean will shortly) and some just sign HUGE recruiting classes and they work. This has been going on in football for a LONG time, in bball in the Big Ten, Crean is one of the first and definitely the best at it right now. It's within the rules and its super smart. Your roster in college bball turns over about 4-5 kids a year. Why not just sign and sign and sign and if kids are exhausted as far as education or playing time goes let them leave. Unfortunately Matta is letting really good players leave instead of crap talent. He also hasnt recruited s*** until the 2014 class. Its a bad strategy.
  14. So I own a gun in Chicago to protect my family from others that clearly have guns, am I wrong?
  15. Quick rookie study of this kids mental state and I feel like he killed both parents because he felt neglect and then wanted to also take it out on the kids that DID get mommy's attention and love.
  16. People who fight with guns are p*****s IMO. Unfortunately since alot of those p*****s reside in Chicago I have to own one so I can clip a motherf***er if he tries to break in and hurt my family. I would rather have zero guns.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Maybe we can just skip all the boring parts where it's Danny sitting around doing nothing for the most part in those cities Because shes naked about 50% of the time we cannot
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) It's absolutely terrible. But s*** dude, I live near the City of Chicago. Watch the first 5 minutes of the news and there's a murder story. It's f***ing pathetic and a tragedy, but at some point it just becomes white noise. And let's not pretend like these events haven't happened before. I think the biggest school mass murder occurred in like 1925. Mass media coverage and a s***ty economy brings out the worst in society. Well to be fair kindergarten kids getting shot is alot different than what is going on in Chicago. However even when it happens in a nice area its ho hum here. A couple of years ago on my bday a guy was gunned down right down madison st 2 blocks from my house. Nobody even discussed it on the news.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) Then let's start talking about it realistically. Enforcing a ban today isn't going to shore up all of the problems, and by the time gangs go through the hundreds of millions of guns out there, a secondary market will have popped up. I watched Revolution, I see how they still use guns even when there is no electricity to manufacture more! No, but we know here in Chicago which is by far one of the highest murder capitals in America we recover thousands of guns a year. Thats a good start.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) But supply of said guns would be severely restricted. And this idea that a world where gangs didn't have guns would be just as violent is just plain dumb, sorry. You can't have drive-by knifings and innocent bystanders being knifed in their homes by stray knives. Correct, and one again most of those guns at one point were purchased legally from a store. They werent bused in from mexico. Its so easy just to have a girl gang member with no record go and buy a bag of guns.
  21. Has anyone gone through the pre-check process to get authorized to be fast tracked through TSA and Customs? SO much harder than buying a gun.
  22. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Rather than be sad and depressed about the shooting in CT today, I'd rather feel proud and thankful for the teachers in that school who followed lockdown protocol, distracted the kids with games and stories, and kept away the madness outside the classroom. It's because of them hundreds or children survived and didn't have to experience the horrors surrounding them. That's what I choose to get out of this. Those kids are going to need alot of mental health treatment over the next several years if not always.
  23. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) like whichever moron made this: ugh gun fetishists are so awful This is the one I've seen the most
