  1. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 11:28 PM) I think it's a good hire. Andersen completely turned around a really bad program in Utah St. He obviously knows how to win. Totally different scheme and tempo to his offense than Wisconsin has been using. Doesnt jive with Alvarez's philosophy IMO which is odd. Part of the Urban Meyer coaching tree from Utah.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) After you workout hard and pee it can get brownish and smelly. This is some protein from muscle. However, ingested protein does get filtered in the kidneys this is why an excess can cause problems. And smelly horrible farts
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) Not super new references and one redundant one, but this source is a Ph.D who specializes in protein in the athlete's diet. He's also a pro natural bodybuilder, but that by no means makes you an authority. Posting from tablet so I'm not very prepared with references. The main point is that we have nothing to worry about with the amount of protein we might eat, even when we are pushing it past conservative recommendations. http://www.biolayne.com/uncategorized/myth...in-diet-safety/ I also think that worrying about nutrient timing, particularly carbs and fats, is a waste of time unless you're doing endurance training (like a marathoner, not 30 minutes on an elliptical) or otherwise totally depleting glycogen. I might speculate that CrossFit and P90x training could deplete glycogen, fwiw. Yes, some deplete more than others, like me.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) This might have been a freudian (sp) slipup, but thrown in there in the midst of your other sentences/thoughts, I think it shows how you really feel. You are acting cool and calm, but you are head over heels and want to spend every waking moment with her basically. She is nowhere near that point. Did I get it correct? That's OK, but she is acting kind of bizarre. Maybe this is a different kind of girl like you said, but in most cases I think we would be right in thinking she is keeping you around as a fallback. We'll see. Forcing it to work to stay together will end in diaster. You cant force things or both people will eventually be unhappy with what they are getting in return. At some point both people have to be on the same page and willing to be with each other totally or something will tear it apart.
  5. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Do you think the Sox are still looking to improve the outfield by trading one of Rios/De Aza/Viciedo? It seems like the Sox aren't in on the FA market right now, so I wonder what they might be trying to do. Personally I think they are shopping for younger impact talent both pitching and at the plate. In all honestly trade targets isnt exactly a piece of information that has come across my inbox so not sure.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 06:14 PM) Matta is going for a super class, if he can get Jaquan Lyle and Okafor than the BIG better watch out. Thats the hope, although kind of far-fetched. His MO has been super class with sparse ones in between. We had one recruit in the last class so I think he is aiming high here.
  7. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) I know it's only a few teams making noise out there, but it does seem like the Sox are exceptionally quiet. It's like watching tumbleweeds blow across the computer monitor every day. They've been doing alot of listening but no moves yet. Our pitching for trade is probably only increasing in value and when some of the FA OF'ers come off the board we should be up there as options for teams. Swisher is a big domino to fall IMO.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) Yeah this. I haven't even looked at the latest rankings but whenever anyone has the argument of why so and so is ranked ahead of another so and so even though they lost to them I just roll my eyes. Especially in a sport like college basketball where teams are losing all of the time. Head to head matchups help the voters gauge how good each individual team is and it obviously affects their rankings, but just because team A beat team B does not mean team A will be ranked ahead of them. Conference play hasnt even started. RANKINGS DONT MATTER.
  9. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) My goal is to build muscle, lose fat and still have the energy to perform my job, which is high cardio/endurance. I don't want to necessarily bulk, but it's not easy for me to gain muscle while cycling so much. I also want the diet and workout to be sustainable. I'm trying to make a long term change. I drink protein shakes post workout and not a 4:1 recovery drink because I have to go jump on the bike for hours after working out. Would it be more beneficial to drink a recovery drink instead? Ultimately, I think I need to get a heart rate monitor to find out just how many calories I actually burn while cycling. Since my bike fitness level is high, it takes less effort to maintain speed as opposed to someone who rides less, so I assume. IMO, yes. Frankly, chocolate milk may work for you. ALso, I dont know about this "peeing" out protein BS I saw earlier. I s*** out spare protein, and its quite nasty.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) The bomb took out most of the building so I think it's safe to assume it took out the cameras/equipment too. And I believe Carrie was promoted by Saul since he mentioned something about Estes being pissed off about it. Considering she ended up capturing Nazr, it would make sense that she would get promoted, even if she was/is banging an American terrorist. Which brings me to my other complaint - how is she going to explain leaving for a day or two? Season 3 just needs to be about Carrie and Saul trying to find Brody. And Brody should be a small character, much like Nazr was. Maybe near the end of the season bring him back, otherwise make it random video clips or pictures being analyzed by Carrie. My biggest issue with season 2 was the love stuff between the two of them. I could buy Carrie's side, but not Brody's. So the less of that stuff they show the better. No way, this will definitely be part of the plot. Their video/network equipment is buried deep underground in very blast proof containers, there is going to be video of his car at some point revealed.
  11. Still supporting SAML 2.0 with their apps which is about all I care about.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) I don't think anyone lacks respect for Cutler's toughness. But other players seem to generally like Rodgers. This is not the case with Cutler. Not saying it is a good or a bad thing...just my observations. I dont get that at all, based on what? If you have the NFL network you should watch it, they will show Jay talking and joking around with his own team and other teams including coaching staffs. I think maybe in that case the media may help offset the impression you have gotten from what obviously drives ratings and mouse clicks.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) How they carry themselves in football games? Rodgers is the same as Favre was...he talks to opposing players during the game and after it. Cutler just doesn't seem to give a s*** what anyone thinks of him, even players on his own team. LOL, you DO know they have miked him up several games this year right? To me a guy who gets up repeatedly after getting crushed over and over earns respect on the football field. The players dont care what the media says about his "faces".
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) You feel like a Cubs fan? I cheer for a team that wears royal blue, red, and white, have lost their last 4 championship appearances in embarassing and heart breaking fashion, lost their last playoff game on one of the biggest fluke plays in the history of the game, haven't made the playoffs in 13 years, and every single year the fans say "This is the year!" I feel like a Cubs fan. I honestly do not know who you are talking about.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) This is because opposing players respect Rodgers, while they do not respect Jay Cutler. Based on?
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) Or shooting at targets never having an intention of using it for any other purpose. People like this DO exist. And if they want they can buy Duck Hunt for nintendo.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) He has all of the physical talent to be the franchise quarterback but he does not seem to have any of the intangible qualities. Although this could be due to the fact that the organization and coaching staff can not find a legitimate OC that can use his talents. Although this seems to be an overriding theme with him, was the baggage he came with and he has never put said baggage down. The baggage all centers around his facial expressions, I just dont buy it. He was on the radio today and had a 100% better interview than Urlacher did yet Jay is the one that has baggage. He's gone through how many OC's in his time here and how many OL? This is a guy that plays through pain better than any other QB I've seen while at the same time battling diabetes. The media doesnt sway me to the anti-jay POV at all.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) His post was pretty honest. Jay Cutler is not the franchise quarterback in terms of today's NFL. He's an average quarterback. However, comparing him to the joke of a history that is the Bears, he's the best ever. So yeah, we'll stick with him. I disagree, he is the exact talent that could be called a franchise QB, he has had s*** around him most of the time here. What other team would use Devin Hester as their "#1" WR? like we did years ago. The fact that he's the most talented QB we've had in my lifetime just amplifies it.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) I have one, too...but the reality is that the door frame is the weak point on any deadbolt. You don't actually try to pick or crack a dead bolt...you kick the door off the frame...it's actually quite easy to do. If you have a heavy hammer (smaller than a sledge) it'll take a few seconds to do it. It'll make noise...but I assume people that are breaking into houses don't much care for the most part. My frame isnt the typical house door, its a firedoor thats very solidly in place. I should have enough time to arm myself if there is a general uprising.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) I keep an aluminum baseball bat under the bed. LOL, I actually do that too. I also keep a steel door stopper near my front door in case anyone tries to break my bulletproof lock. Seriously, its bulletproof http://www.sunnectlock.com/
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) Unless you include Chicago in that. Urban areas in general tend to have better private schools than public so I never include that. If you want to raise your children in the city you send them to private schools 99% of the time. But our surrounding areas and even around the state have very good public schools in fact I think Illinois lags in quality and quantity of private institutions.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) What do you use your gun for? I own one but havent used it for anything yet. Hopefully never have to.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) That is just trolling for hits. Yup, call out a team that JUST lost in heartbreaking fashion and has one of the crazier fanbases in the nation and you are a troll regardless of your title.
  24. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) Really depends where you are. If you're in the New Trier district, you're an idiot not to use the public system. But for probably >95% of districts, it's definitely a decision that requires a lot of serious thought. Maybe in other states, but Illinois has a very solid public school system.
  25. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) I'm just not going to send my kids to public school. Teachers are spoiled rotten by their unions, they're f***ing terrible at their jobs and they clearly aren't safe. Besides, all public schools really are anymore is indoctrination centers to send kids for a life in the Democratic party (sure as hell dont teach math or science worth a damn anymore). Just forsake our broken public school system and you'll be fine. LOL, just horrible.
