  1. Big Ten refs poorly prepare the entire league for the tournament.
  2. Illinois turned on the AC and blew that pass into the stands.
  3. Frank should have 3 f***ing MVP's. Second, the HOF is getting to the point where retired numbers for individual teams mean more than being elected.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 04:06 PM) Oddly enough, now it appears the Maloofs rejected the offer? The Sonics just died again. Probably not enough cash to keep up with their sister's plastic surgery/lawsuits.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 08:38 PM) Don't forget about Tucker/Norm ("Who goes to Santiago, Chile twice in one year?" and Pat Healy ("Really it's only a side thing for my true passion...I work with retards.") LOL Norm: Really? Where would I have seen your work? Pat Healy: Well, have you been to, uh well, let me see... Santiago, Chile? Norm: Twice last year. Which building's yours? Pat Healy: Are you familiar with the soccer stadium? Norm: Did you build the Estadio Olimpico? Pat Healy: No, just down the street the Celinto Catayente.... Towers. It's quite a fine example, in fact. I recommend that next time you're up that way that you drop in and take a gander at it yourself.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) Honestly it reminds me a lot of the Notre Dame football conversations from this year. The difference is Illinois will be much more battle tested by the time the tourney comes.
  7. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) I agree, but the issue is where you draw the the dividing line for "top teams." I've seen some commentators do it after only Michigan and IU, some do those two plus Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio St, Michigan State. I'd say the rankings right now are something like this.... Michigan Indiana Minnesota Illinois Ohio State Michigan State Iowa Wisconsin Purdue Northwestern Penn State Nebraska Michigan is clearly the top, and we'll know more about Minnesota after these next two road games against Illinois and Indiana. I would say those top 3 teams are better than the rest right now. It's a long conference season and who knows where it will all end up. The top 6 are locks for the tourney IMO. There will be losses, mostly on the road, and because of that people will continue to move teams down the rankings.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) Walks and a little more power is all it is. Lofton out performed Raines in their first 17 years in everything else. Raines did play longer though (23 years). So you are saying walks and power are NOT important? Its difficult to name many lead off hitters if any better than Raines not named Rickey Henderson.
  9. Anyone who says they "dont buy" any of the top teams in the conference are quite frankly morons. There are going to be losses all over the conference and teams will drop in the rankings but that doesnt make them any less competitive overall in the country.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 02:06 PM) she could taste a lot worse. I mean, my wife aint bad, but honey-nut cheerios are pretty good! I tear through boxes of it from costco. Love that s***. Maybe I should facebook friend her?
  11. Once again Tim Raines not getting in is a f***ing travesty. One of the top leadoff hitters of all time.
  12. So Carmelos wife tastes like honey-nut cheerios?
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) @WojYahooNBA The Maloofs are finalizing an agreement to sell the Sacramento Kings to the Hansen-Ballmer led Seattle group, sources tell Yahoo! Sports. @WojYahooNBA The deal will sell the Kings for approximately $500 million, with the Seattle group seeking relocation to Key Arena for the 2013-'14 season. First they lost the Palms now the Kings, business must be bad.
  14. I've only really seen Nunn against good competition once and I wasn't impressed, however it doesnt look like he's expected to come in and start right away anyway.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) It's too bad that Illinois can't keep more kids in state. It won't happen, but if in this junior class, Groce got Okafor and Ullis, you're looking at a Big Ten champion. College coaches need to ignore Ullis' height. The kid is a player of the year candidate now and if he had actually transferred to Simeon, he'd be the best guard on that team. Well if you were a recruit and UK, Duke, Louisville, MSU etc came knocking on the door, what is the draw to go downstate to Illinois? There are so many cooks in the kitchen going after chicago recruits that its hard to have any loyalty to a team that has no real identity in the city.
  16. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 07:21 AM) Hah, that's a pipe dream. He wants UK, or itl'll be OSU/UL. He's putting up monster numbers this year, but got ejected again last night. He may have passed up Trey Lyles as the best prospect in the state, as he's averaging close to a triple double (having already put up 6 or 7 this year). We are pushing hard for Okafor as well (like everyone else)
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) At least he has one skill. Surprisingly hit a few jumpers last night.
  18. Sam Thompson dunking on Hammons last night http://btn.com/2013/01/08/video-sam-thomps...on-a-j-hammons/
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Really? Why is the concept hard to grasp? Simply the size of the files comparable to blue-ray. Seems like a ton of downloading/storing to me vs changing discs.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) there's a couple listed here: http://savewright.org/index.php?page=33 His stuff usually goes for 1M+. Considering the sizes of the homes, where they're located (e.g. Oak Park, Hinsdale), and that he's probably the most well-known architect, it's not surprising. One of my coworker's parents' own one of his homes. Yeah, Oak Park and River Forest Houses in general are going to cost a million if they are nice, as a FLW for sure 1 million and up. However my price range in downtown Chicago right now is laughable for what I am getting anyway.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Oh it absolutely is MCM...Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is one of the most celebrated Mid Century Modernists... I do think his apt buildings in chicago are s*** though. I have been house hunting since I've already torn through the 46 units available in my area and got a chance to look at a Frank Lloyd Wright home for sale in Oak Park. Man I would kill for one of those.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 12:25 AM) I don't buy used games either, though I frequently sell back games I've played. That said, I'd happily see Gamestop rot. That place has screwed me over a couple times and I don't really care for the used games market as a business. As others mentioned some games already have activation codes as is anyway. This is just the next step. The people there are dickfaces. However I fail to see how games can ever be purely downloadable which will always make those stores necessary.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) The thing people said to me a while ago was that, particularly if you're playing at neutral sites, it's going to be hard to expect fanbases to travel for more than 1 game. How are they doing home field/stadium choices for the playoff rounds anyway? Top 4 get a home game then go to neutral sites?
