QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) It really depends on how you look at it. First of all, I count 3 ranked teams for both of them (Michigan, Oklahoma, and Stanford for ND and Michigan, TAMU, and LSU for Bama). Second of all, Pitt (who was the let down game and a game that ND should have lost) came after Oklahoma. LSU was followed by TAMU for Bama. To me that's tougher. Just my opinion though. I wasnt really trying to say that was a determining factor of predicting a winner here. I remember in 2006 my undefeated team was supposed to blow out the opponent and we got creamed. I just dont think anyone can make a point for one team over the other at this point. The SEC championship should at least tell us a little more. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) Blinders on? You do realize that every single one of Bama's offensive lineman has a chance to play in the NFL, right (the lone question mark is Steen)? Jones, Fluker, and Warmack all will likely go in the top 50 of the draft this year. Cyrus Kouandjio, who is so talented that he made Bama move Jones (last year's Outland Award winner at LT) to center, will also be playing on Sundays in two years. Yes, but I'm the one with the blinders on. You also haven't really talked about how ND can effectively move the ball and score against Bama's defense. You basically ignored my points, claimed that Stanford has a good O-Line, and said that I was wearing blinders. Cool. Bama played an easier road compared to ND if you really look at it. 2 ranked teams, beat one. I think it would be very difficult to say anyone has blinders on at this point since it's very hard to say one thing or another about the quality of the teams that MAY play in the title game. Maybe after the SEC championship game we will know more because that will be the toughest test for both Bama and Georgia all year. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 12:18 AM) Ahhh, I can't think of the movie recently (maybe TV show) that showed in to the future people using ultra-thin smart phones that were just a plate of glass. Looked like this.... Maybe that movie was on the right track, but sooner rather than later. Wish I could remember the movie. Minority report had alot of this type of s*** in it, but so did Quantum Leap.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 08:35 AM) It's not the worst coffee I've ever had in my life, don't get me wrong. It's just not very good, either. It's average. I'm a coffee drinker that prefers french press coffee (IMO, one of the only pure ways to make coffee left in a world of Keurig's and crappy auto drip makers). First, coffee has to be stored properly, as beans, and ground before you make it, or it dries out. If you've ever seen truly fresh coffee beans, they look greasy...grinding those up and french pressing them releases those oils...and it's amazing. Second, coffee has to be brewed at a temperature very few coffee makers even come close to reaching, which is around 200 degrees F. Most auto makers hit about 160. So, when it comes to coffee makers, I'm not going to be happy with most of them. If I was basing this on the average coffee consumers tastes, however, I'm sure the Keurig and others are just fine. So far from my experience Keurig is the best single cup mass produced coffee maker out there. It brews at 193, makes a variety of flavors from pretty freshly ground or your own beans and does it very quickly. If grabbing a cup for yourself out the door or before work is your thing, I would recommend it. Of course there are 5k serious coffee makers out there or you can really dedicate yourself to knowing the ins and outs and like Y2 said, enjoy a true experience of making coffee. But most of the time the Keurig will do what you want it to do. Just make you sure you clean it.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) Indiana's offense is just stupid. Has Jordan Hulls ever missed? He's shooting .541 coming into today which is good for just outside the top 100 in the country. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 06:14 PM) I would think that as a fan of any team, even if it was mine. Tressel should not have been invited, plain and simple. There were fans in the stands with love for Tresel. But your stance just validates my point. It's either complete delusion or stupidity, from the president and AD on down, choose whichever you prefer. Lol, whatever buddy. "Choose" your preference if it makes you feel any better. Frankly if you are this upset about a non-televised celebration of a former team for the home audience then its your prerogative. For me, yesterday was bliss. Perfect record after going through hell last year, showing dominance over Michigan once again, and everything is looking up. Now on to bball. -

Also, IMO a lot of the fans that were at the game that weren't happy about Tressel being there were clapping first for the 2002 team and then next for him getting fired so we could have Urban. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) It was pretty stupid for OSU to do that. Thought even you'd admit that. To celebrate the team? Why? Having Krenzel, Grant, Gamble etc on the field is awesome. Their invite was late to Tressel and he barely came The players loved him and celebrated him. It was meant for the players, and the fans at the stadium not for the fans of every other team. I think celebrating the 10 year anniversary of one of the greatest teams ever to stop on the field in the Big Ten was an awesome idea. Maybe it was too soon for some for Tressel to even be invited, but quite honestly, he's going to be revered at some time. This wasnt enabling child rape and he did alot for the community and ultimately brought on his own downfall and paid the price. People are going to love him regardless of what other fans think. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) Am I the only one that noticed that OSU yesterday was honoring and celebrating Jim Tressel yesterday? You know the guy that kept this 12-0 team from having a chance to play for the NC or even a bowl? How is it OSU fans can honor a guy who basically brought shame to the school? Or are they just so delusional they don't think they cheated and he lied? And to also allow cheater Maurice Clarett to come back and be honored? I'm sorry Rock, but that has to be the dumbest mentality I've seen from a fan base. OSU deserves everthing they get. I'm sure there are a few level headed fans, but all I could think about yesterday was "what a bunch of dumbassed OSU fans!" They actually honored the 10 year anniversary of the 2002 title team, and they lifted up the Vest. The celebration wasn't for you anyway. And as a Michigan fan, I'd expect hate from you. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) From what I've seen, Georgia would still be a favorite over ND but only by 4-5 points. For the record, I dont think they will beat Bama. And its the same weakness I think that would kil them against ND. Georgia has played 2 good defensive teams all year and scored 24 points total. IMO, Bama and ND are a bad matchup for them because of the d stopping the run. Bama has at least shown the ability to put up points against good defensive teams. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) Once Florida won yesterday, everybody else's chances were pretty much gone and I don't think most others wanted to see them in the title game. Also, Florida's win yesterday locked up a top-4 BCS finish for them which means they are automatically the second SEC team in a BCS bowl, and LSU, A&M, and the Ala-Ga loser are all left out. Amazing what Muschamp did with such an empty cupboard -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 12:09 PM) There won't be an official line for a week or so, but I've seen projections that ND would be anywhere from +10 to +11½ against Alabama with a money line of about 2½ to 1. Bama isnt in there yet. I saw Georgia get their ass whooped earlier on in the season and if they make it I think ND presents a large problem against them. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) Krush, just for you! Two non-IU things (Soxbadger feel free to skip this post) 1. Nice game by Illinois tonight. I didn't see the whole game as I was watching Michigan - Pitt early. I don't know enough about Illinois depth and long term prospects (this year) but they looked impressive, especially taking into account a new coach and last year's mess. 2. Rock, how in the hell did Matta not offer Trey Burke? He played for Sullinger's dad! Who did they recruit instead? They actually recruited Shannon Scott instead who was actually higher rated. They literally told Burke, you are a second option. It happens. Burke is a great kid too, just awesome. Happy for him that he went into the Big Ten and dominates. I thought he should've had an offer right away but we went with Scott who was supposed to be better and had a family connection. -

LOL, whatever, like I said before we are all going to homer the s*** out of this board. Illinois fans are going to rip on refs, IU fans are going to pretend the last 20 years never happened and I am going to tell you how OSU isnt a football school and we arent Johnny come lateleys. The good news is that our conference is so god damn good that we all have a claim to something. And it should feel good for everyone. Michigan, MSU, IU, UI, OSU, and even NW are very good programs that could wins alot of games. Most of us are expecting a deep run in the tourney. Some of us have NPOY candidates. Revel in it boys. It's not always a permanent thing. I am looking forward to the s*** talking that goes on, because we will be watching bball at its highest level. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) The story on here about the pitbull basically wanting to eat that other dog is scary. How did you finally get the dog's head out of the pitbull's mouth? Weren't you scared as you tried to pry the pitbull's jaws open? On another topic, I've heard grayhounds, the dogs that race, as some of the nicest dogs out there. Is that true? Has anybody owned one? Do they just run and run and run? Grayhounds actually prefer to sleep, sleep, sleep. They have no endurance and not a ton of energy. They are good racing dogs but overall very calm and docile as a pet and spend most of their time just laying in your bed. Huskies/Boxers/Some labs have a TON more need to exercise.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) I think some of you are confusing upside with actual results. Clearly, 2012 Wise is a better hitter than 2012 JorDanks. However... Danks has at times shown much more talent, and he's better defensively at this point (and that gap will widen over years). His ceiling is much higher. That doesn't mean for sure that he reaches that ceiling, of course. What I'm saying is, for your 4th OF, when you have payroll issues, sticking with the younger guy with more potential, better defense, and for cheaper... is better, IMO, than a sure-fire mediocre bat for 200k more. I'd rather roll the dice with Danks, even though it may not work out. That's all I'm saying. Ceiling ceiling ceiling, based on what exactly? His minor league numbers? Very similar to Wise's and Wise has shown MLB results. SHow me why his ceiling is so much higher. For 200k wouldnt you want the guy that can actually hit?
