I also donate plasma, don't know if that has an effect (though I have found out my pulse is really low for someone who doesn't exercise - was 58 the other day) Don't know if that's an OK way to go into this, but I want to try it. So for you, make sure you invest in some free weights IMO. ANd up your protein intake quite a bit during the workouts. Your muscles will become much more defined and rounded and with protein you should see a size increase. As for your energy etc. You will feel AWESOME. There is no doubt about that. I think the guys in this thread can attest to the difference in the way you feel from day to day. You have so much more energy and just want to do something during the day physical no matter what it is.
